Suboxone, or buprenorphine, is used in opiate withdrawal. It acts by blocking the same receptors in the brain that take in opiate chemicals. Using opiates while on suboxone will cause nausea. My boyfriend uses it, and it makes him act like an idiot, but it will help get you through withdrawals. My only issues are that its hellaciously expensive when bought legally so if you don't have the funds I wouldn't recommend it. The doctor visits alone can cost you over 300, not to mention the average price of it at any pharmacy is 7/pill. There is a generic form of it that runs for 4/pill. Also, it can be addictive with prolonged use. My suggestion would be to take it either as directed or only when you need to, otherwise it's only trading one addiction for another.

Oh, and I think Centerstone in Clarksville has a program that will prescribe it to you much cheaper, but the waiting list is ridiculous. I think when we called it was about a year. Good luck!

I think there is a Dr. That prescibes it beside Rite aid on warfield Blvd. Good luck thou , had to stick with Dr. In Nashville. Long waiting list.

The drs at the Kelley clinic in paducah, ky are the best. Reasonable cost and worth the drive if you're serious about getting treatment.

Kelley clinic in paducah ky is good place. They don't keep it there though. Have to get a prescription. Easy to get appt there better than Nashville or clarksville
