Sad, but alot of kids are abused, NO excuss for it whatsoever, but sad when a child does lie. A adult can have their life ruined by one of these lies. Many has. Yes they have but, I say Karma is an angry mother and she had lots of babies. Their lies will be visited upon them before or when these children become adults.

They are not taught any better. Watching mom move 12 "uncles" in under the child being 15 yr. old or dad having one "teenage" girlfriend after another. Never knowing where they will lay their head from night to night. Moving from one place to another. No wonder our youth are in so much trouble True but there is no excuse for a child to lie and claim an adult did something inapproprite to them.

And we wonder why some of the best teachers choose to teach at private schools for less money and benefits. Most of our serial killers started off abusing and killing animals. We are now stuck with 3 generations of single parents who feel the system owes them housing, food and health care. No wonder the Social Security system is wondering how it will be able to pay benefits to the baby boomers. When parents support their chilren in not taking responsibility and accountability for their actions we all suffer. The mother and child need counseling, which I am sure the tax payer will be paying for. The home needs to be investigate, how many other children is this mother raising to disrepect authority? We can either address the problems this mother parenting is creating now or we can reap the horror this child will create on our society later.

After you find little susie lied on the man, he has already lost his job, paid $$$$ out on fines, court cost, bail, bond and the lawyer. Not counting all the "friends & family" who has turned on him. Sad when this happens, and it does rather oftened Not to mention being registered as a sex offender or pedophile. Once people see a man's or woman's face there, they might as well be dead.

Ok accepting your argument that there are guns and drugs in the school so we need officers there. Let me ask a quick question then. Knowing that we didn't seem to have problems like this before when I was growing up and we didn't have police officers in the schools. Why is it now all of a sudden we have so many problems in the schools now that we do?

Because many parents fail to teach their children the difference between right and wrong. When parents don't teach their children respect and compassion, those children grow up not caring about anyone except themselves and what they want. It is sad that children have to be subjected to lock-down drills in schools. My kindergartner came home the other day telling me about a lock-down drill at her school. But I feel better knowing that there are police officers in schools who can at least try to intervene or call for backup if needed. If you are a parent, it seems that you would appreciate their presence instead of resenting it.

Of course kids are not being taught respect. Even TV advertisings show us it is OK to be disrespectful. I am thinking of the juice commercial where a two years old child keep banging his stroller into the US mail box, and the mother just sit there, telling us how proud she is that her child “like to do things by himself.” Except, pushing his stroller is one thing, but destroying others’ property is another. Very bad advertisement! And yes, some parent think their child will figure out respect by themselves.

That's the main problem in American society today, we are severely lacking character and discipline in raising our children. Parents must be a good example for their children by instilling good values in them, so that they will be productive citizens for tomorrow.

There are always going to be crazy people and people who hurt others and Im sure you can point out many examples of horrible things (that also were not prevented by having police in the schools), but the 15 year old who killed a 9 year old did not even happen at a school. Using your arguments for having police in the school we could also assume that we should have police stationed in each one of our living rooms in case something happens there. Maybe we could all be locked in metal cages and monitored all of our lives and all be perfectly safe. Having a police in the school is a deterent at best and does not solve any of the underlying problems. The presence of a police officer in the schools may actually exasperate the situation and make things worse. Many schools that have added SRO officers have reported that the number of misbehaviors actually got worse not better when they had an officer in the schools. This policy of having RSO officers instead of other means of behavior modification only fast tracks the kids into the crimminal system. http://www.stopschoolstojails.org/content/mod...
