So I am moving to Ashland City and I have always been a big fan a Tennessee because it is so beautiful. Can anyone tell me about the city? Are the people friendly? What do people do there on their spare time? Is it a scenic area for hiking and fishing or what?

Well I am not a resident there but I recently bought a vacation home there and the place is beautiful. There is a really nice trail called the cumberland bicentennial trail that has waterfalls and rock bluffs. The place is full of big hills and spring fed streams and there are lots of buisnesses and stores not far away despite it having a really rual feel to the area. I havent really had time to get to know the neighbors but so far they seem to be nice. I am suprised nobody has bothered to respond to your post. I needed a fuse to get the furnace working and we saw a heating and cooling truck parked at a nearby store and asked the guy if he had a fuse he didnt charge me anything and said welcome to Ashland city so far the people seem to be real friendly. I grew up in Middle tn and I am now living near chicago. I will probably move to Ashland city within 5 years or so.

Thank you so much Jamie for replying to my message. It is very comforting to hear from somebody. Hopefully my move there will be welcoming.

Hi. I too, plan to move to Ashland City. I noticed in your post you said you were raised in a.c. Do you know if that Dixieland Co is still in operation? SOmeone said Sycamore Realty bought them out. Some guy name John M had Dixieland, I think. Sure would appreciate your info. Thanks, Mary B

We got our place from Patty Kenedy with Gold star realty. We got a good deal on a cheap repo. She was really on the ball unlike some others we dealt with in the past.

Hello Mary, his name is John Melton, Dixieland Company. He sells land and some houses. He is a great family man and works hard for his community. Ashland City still is alot like Mayberry but to me that is a "good thing"!

its true....i think that if you have teenagers, ashland city is not the best place for them. i lived there for 5/6 years. there is nothing for kids to do there but get in trouble. the schools dont teach kids enough to get ready for college. im not saying that its not a beautiful place but if you have kids its not the best.
