'Big Give' is no small wonder for family

I am blown away by all of this. You people amaze me. This is Mike Machinski and I can not believe all of the misinformation being thrown around on here. To very sad, thruthbetold, think before you give, very sad you got it right, OMG, Reality, The Point, Palmerton, Time to Wake Up, Palmerton 12, My Truth and whoever else has something to say about something they truely know nothing about. You all have it wrong and I wish you would call me or email and we can discuss. If you are so educated about this matter why don't you use your real name and honestly call me and I will tell you the truth. Because this has done nothing but upset everyone involved in this and we don't need the negativity.
To adress all the things being said:
I am not in remission and my cancer just doubled in my lung and has eaten through one of my ribs. We never asked for anything. Not once. Everyone else has been kind and done things out of the kindness of their hearts. WE NEVER ASKED, NEVER!!!! 3 new 4-wheelers - where are they I would love to have them. I bought my daughter a 5 yr. old 4 wheeler a year before I was diagnosed and I have one that an old customer of mine that I became friends with bought for me so I would stop shoveling my driveway. Our basement was started before I was diagnosed and finished after and it was payed for by commisions from my old job. I couldn't leave it half finished. As far as my kids clothes on twin day at school...that also is a lie. That never happened. Us buying another dog...it was a rescue that we took in and cost us nothing. Us never thanking the community....I thanked the people of this community in every interview I did including the one on Oprah, which was not shown. I am incredibly thankful to the people of this community and our development and I have said it all the time. As far as the girls college funds, they were given a few thousand dollars in an education account. It isn't like they put enough money in to pay for their college completely. As for someone saying something about me not preparing for my death, had a life insurance policy that was for just enough money to pay for my house if I were to die...so back off. Us having another house is insane. If we have another house let us know where it is so we can stay in it. Us begging for money and things is a complete lie. From day one of my diagnosis we have never asked for a damn thing !!!! Us not using money from fundraisers for bills and treatments is a complete lie. It has all been put towards the massive bills(stem cell $500,000, which we had to pay for some of and we had to pay for our house while we were in Houston and housing in Houston-that would have not been possible without the donations) and alternative treatments that are not covered by medicare. You people don't half of what you are talking about. As far as me asking people to contact Oprah-again showing your lack of knowledge on the matter because I never did nor would I ever. That was my sister and a bunch of other kind people. As far as the staff at LVH paying for my last hospitalization..?????? what are you talking about. My girls getting free lunches....don't you dare bring my kids into this. That is not right. Money being donated by Laurel Ridge since the show....if they did they must have given it to someone else because Inever heard or received anything like that. Some people from Laurel Ridge organized a basket raffle for us and they bought me a laptop to take to Houston so I could keep in touch with everybody - all which was much appreciated and we were very grateful for. The money was used for medical and house bills. As far as us living a lavish life-please let me know what a lavish life is because I don't think that would be how to describe ours if you knew what you were talking about. As far as me golfing every day..I golfed maybe 4 times last summer and I have not golfed at all this year so please again don't talk about something you know nothing about. And as far a the store goes we moved the store to try and make money. We took a big gamble by moving the store because it wasn't making money and we wanted a bigger class space to try and make it profitable. I don' know why I am bothering to explain because no matter what it won't be good enough for you. I would gladly switch lives with anyone of you if only for a day. You can have all that we have been given for my health and to know that I will be here for my kids.It really is upsetting to hear this stuff especially because it sounds like it is coming from people who "were" friends of ours and have been in my house. It sounds like neighbors from Laurel Ridge and other people in town. It is amazing how hurtful and jealous people can be. I would just like to let you know that you have been heard and what you have said has been nothing but lies and caused pain for our whole family. I can not say again how thankful I am for this community for all they have done for us and I have said that during all interviews and if it was not in the interviews that is my fault. If we are doing things so wrong then use your energy that your using towards this to do something good. If you are jealous or mad or think you deserve something instead of us I am sorry for you. We did not ever ask for anything that we have received. People other than the people above that I listed are kind hearted and by nature are good. I can't say enough about all that we have been given but again we never asked for anything. So if people do stuff for us you can not blame us at all.Thank you so much to everyone that has supported us threw everything. We thank you and like I say I wouldn't be here without you.
To all of you who seem to dislike us and want to post under fake names feel free to use your real name or contact us and we will stay clear of you so we don't upset you anymore. I mean it if you want to chat feel free to contact me and do so immediately because the pain you have caused I would love to address. I have an idea of who some of you are and also thank you for mentioning one families name, I will contact them. Thanks for all the negativity. You people are amazing.

A few things I forgot to address. As far as us paying to have dog poop picked up..my mother payed for that so I wouldn't have to. And as far as a maid...my mother comes down every week to help us around the house and do things so I don't have to. A mothers love and trying to be helpful turned bad by some jealous uninformed people. And the last thing..........these frequent vacations...we were sent to Hawaii by the show and we were given a trip to Disney by Crossing the Finish Line and we also went to Florida to visit with Becky's uncle and we stayed at his house. So if you think those are lavish and expensive trips then so be it but I don't see it that way. They were moslty completely payed for. Why I have to spend my energy on this is unbelievable. Nothing like turning things that you hear into what you want to hear. You people are amazing. I bought my house before I was diagnosed and I used to work 3 jobs so I could have the life we used to have so don't come crying to me about not working for what we have. I worked my butt of to afford a nice house for my wife and kids and then I got sick...I wish I wouldn't have gotten sick and was able to work and do all the things I used to be able to do. Unfortunately that is not the case and I am sorry that you have been misinformed about all of this and have such ill will towards us. There is nothing more I can say then thank you to everyone that has done so much for us and I think all of you know how grateful we are to have you all in our lives and if we haven't said it enough in the past....thank you !!!!

Wow, there seems to be 2 different sides to this story, it's actually sad. I would do the same for my child even if it meant picking up dog duty, a mother will always be a mother and if this is her way of helping her son so be it. If this family was given all of this by people and other sources, maybe they can find it in their hearts to help other families in the same situation.

As I sit here wondering if it is even worth trying to explain anything anymore to ignorant people like "palmerton" anymore, my heart is breaking for this family. What have they done to deserve the evilness?? Many of you have pretended to care, and then this?? I hope you horrible people can sleep at night, knowing you have added to their pain. I cannot even believe what I am reading right now. This is absolutely ludicrous. I will be the first to admit that I wrote to Oprah and I will NEVER regret that.

I think that everyone needs to take a good, long and hard look in the mirror before they come on here and post anything else. Haven't you all heard the saying "people who live in glass houses shouldn't cast stones"?

The Minnesota lottery was 180 million last weekend and you know what? I wouldn't trade that money to spend one minute in the Machinski's shoes. No amount of money from Oprah is going to make Mike cancer free this very moment. No college fund is going to replace times spent with Dad and no new vehicle is going to change the hand they have been dealt.

I am so sorry but you negative people need to get a grip and find someone else to pick on. For real. Move on to someone else and leave these people alone.

PS Mike and Becky there is a house for sale in our culdesac and we'd all love to have you. I promise no one will care how many three wheelers you have or what your basement looks like. Hell, we'll probably even bring meals to you and clean for you and at the end of the day, we promise, we won't judge you for accepting our help. Why? Because we are compassionate and caring people who genuinely want to help others. My best piece of advice to you guys is pick yourselves up, dust yourselves off and surround yourselves with people who love you and won't judge you. You know how to find me if you want the number for the realtor listing that house :) Minnesota would LOVE to have you guys!!!

Mike is my daughter's softball coach.I learned of his illness, and his family's struggle last night at practice. The mom who told me, said that the story was a poignent and inspirational one, and that I could learn more from an online journal. I came online this morning, and unfourtunately found this thread. I am greived at the small-minded,back-bitting jealousies represented here by nameless gossips.
My family has been blessed by the Machinski family, not simply because of their volunteer work, but also by their attitude and example. Mike always has words of encouragment for our girls, and a happy, positive attitude; an attitude replicated in his own sweet daughters.
To Mike and his family:
Thank you for your selfless service to your community.

To the nameless gossips:
Take a page out of Mike's book and spend your time doing something constructive.

Life is to short to get involved in this Palmerton Soap Opera, and unfortunatley Mike and Becky has waisted and lost time in responding with their dissertations. I have spent 33 seconds and that is enough !

well one of those why don't you stop down to our store and have a chat with me and we can discuss the truth. I am at the point of having enough of all of this crap. I stated the whole truth in my post above. So you now know the truth so shut your mouth and quit talking about this which you really know nothing about. I have talked to who was responsible for the roomers that were started and they admitted being misinformed so keep your mouth shut or at least admit who you are insteas of being a coward. It's not the blame of one person, it's alot of people that are tired of all this. I came on here to see whats going on with our school board, and this is the only thing that popped up under palmerton news...you people need a life, leave theirs alone, and SHAME on the MC for allowing this bashing.
