Police: Wal-Mart shopper picks up bat, beats man with it

A 49-year-old Allentown man used an aluminum baseball bat to beat a 62-year-old Allentown man Sunday morning inside a Wal-Mart in Whitehall, township police said.

Lower Macungie Wal Mart is just as bad. In fact once a new Wal Mart is discovered...it gets infested with trash. The part that kills me is every employee is an Equal opportunity employee.

"The Spaceport bar scene from the first Star Wars movie" is what someone else here called that Wal-Mart a few months ago. I and everyone else I've shared that observation with agrees completely, esp. later in the evening - after 10:00 PM. So far, that seems to be the consensus here.

So why not just station a Whitehall Twp. police officer there 24/7 - or at least the overnight 12/7 - to help weed out the trouble-makers ? The real estate taxes that Wal-Mart pays would probably cover that cost ...

Look I'm no Wal Mart advicate but it seems like a couple of over developed children, or under developed adults don't know how to control themselves in public. Let me once again stress Wal Mart makes me want to throw up, but it seems there employee's really stepped up and stopped this before that guy got killed or even worse someone else got hurt....How about this one... It's just like a run down city's public to blame the venue for what happened, instead of it's people. Wal mart sells bats so it's there fault?, Wal Mart is the last resort for people trying to fead there family in a discusting economy. Direct your anger to the proper place.Maybe you can't talk with the president directly, but you sure can get on the phone with a local rep.No I'm not here to back someone. Please get on the phone and let them know your anger. these guy's are playing golf some where because no ones in there ear.

What is with all the hate against Wal-Mart? I mean, it's not as though Wal-Mart made this guy beat the other guy? It was the individual himself and Wal-Mart did not magically hypnotize the guy to make him grab a baseball bat.

This could have happened anywhere, not just Wal-Mart. It sounds like people are just using this as an excuse to complain.(What else is new?)

I witness same thing like this in the easton walmart about a years or so not with a bat but with a gun. Yes I agree if not US citizen deport him. But he should be charge with attempted murder.

There's no way it would of happened in a church....you can't buy a bat in church.... I guess you missed the part of the article that mention they had brewing issue's between them for sometime. I guess you missed the articles over the years about how poor they treat their employees, and their bullying of manufacturers to reduce prices.

What is one big reason why American jobs are going overseas? Wal-Fart.

Add in the fact that, as MANY others pointed out, these stores attract a LOT of the low-life scum and it's not safe to shop there. Walk into the one in Whitehall (as in the story) at any given time, and guess what? 80% of the people shopping there cannot speak English at all.
