CityMac a) lost my computer; b) found it in pieces in an employees house; c) put it back together using parts that they could not prove were mine; d) gave it to me NOT WORKING AT ALL; e) refused to fix it when I confronted them on the problem; f) threatened to call the police when I went into the store to demand that they fix it. The MOST HEINOUS customer service I have ever experienced, no contest. I was treated so poorly because they royally screwed up!? They even changed their documentation of the work they did on my computer to make it appear that my computer didn't boot up when I brought it in. The report also falsely stated that I received services free of charge, which is not even remotely true. Several times I asked, "Does your report state that you guys lost my computer and found my RAM somewhere off the premises?" They refused to answer my question and all I got, over and over again, was, "We can't help you." What? I bring them a working computer, they return it to me not working and they can't help me? Everyone I spoke to was rude and incompetent to the utmost degree and now my computer is worthless. Thanks, CityMac, for caring about your customers. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY! Everyone I have spoken with that has used their services have described similar experiences. I would not be surprised if many of these "positive" reviews have been planted by CityMac themselves! Ask around and take their awful reputation seriously! Regretfully, I wish I had. You will not be satisfied! Go elsewhere.

Please avoid CityMac in Asheville, NC!
I am not the guy that usually does this sort of thing but I felt that my experience with CityMac in Asheville, NC warrants this type of exposure.
First off they advertise a service to repair iPads, iPods, iPhones and every other iDevice. When we first visited the store we quickly learned that the service is a "separate" company. It is literally separated by a small partition on the service counter. I went in because the power button on my iPhone had ceased to function and my screen had a small crack on the upper left corner but had functioned flawlessly with the crack for over a year. I was quoted a price and a reasonable hour wait to get it fixed.$150 later I was out the door after they tried to give me the wrong phone.
Over the next couple of days I started to notice problems. 1st and most important, the screen did not automatically turn off while on a call which resulted in very frustrating phone calls in which I either muted myself unknowingly or my face continuously and randomly dialed numbers while I was talking. 2nd, my reception had fallen below the "bad" range and was constantly dropping calls where I had never had a problem before. 3rd, my call waiting was completely disabled and I hadn't changed any settings at all!
When I took my phone back today to have it looked at I was told that the display problem was caused by a proximity sensor and that it was a very common and non-fixable problem that occurs when the screen is cracked where mine was. I then replied by letting them know that it worked for over a year with the crack. I was then told that by replacing the screen the damage was made permanent. I was also told that my service issue was in no way related to what they did. The young woman politely handed my phone back and said sorry. This is the same young woman that told me that this is a common problem yet she failed to bring the potential for this common problem up before the work was done. If I would have known that this was a likely outcome of the repair I would have passed and bought a new phone instead. So at this point I am extremely confused and asked how to get my phone fixed and they said that they cannot fix it but offered to refund the money I paid for the new screen but only after they switched it back out with another used and cracked screen.
My brain is not the brightest in the world but I was trying to figure out how that makes the situation better! They wanted me to walk away with a phone that is now more broken than when they first touched it and because they refund me the price of the screen, which isn't even the issue, I am supposed to be a satisfied customer! How dumb do I look?
I did not go into the store looking for a new phone, I only wanted them to fix my phone which they broke while fixing another issue. The refund would not fix what they broke so I refused it and opted instead to share this with everyone.
Please do not trust your Apple devices or any other electronic device to these people. They do not stand behind their work.

On November 25th, 2013 I went to have my iPhone 5 repaired by CityMac. The store claimed that my phone had sustained water damage and charged me $80 to do nothing. I called Apple, the real Apple that is, in California and they inspected my phone which was not water damaged. My $600 iPhone 5 can now not be repaired due to unauthorized repair attempt by CityMac. "This phone has been tampered with internally, missing parts, and is beyond repairable.."

Their repair was followed up in a report given to me by an Apple representative, where Apple had discovered that this small business had committed fraud. My original 32 GB motherboard had been swapped out for a different motherboard, and damaged at that. CityMac proceeded to remove the "non-rmovable", soldered in, cover plates from my device, that were then swapped out with a broken motherboard with my original. This was so it could not be traced or tracked. Obviously Apple caught onto this scam, but not much they could do about it. This place is just like that transmission shop you never want to go to because you're afraid of getting screwed over. Well case in point, CityMac.

The store has neglected to give me a refund, replacement phone, nor an actual repair service for my Apple iPhone 5. CitMac robbed me blind of repairable parts and sold them to another customer. Very unpleased with the actions of this dishonorable business. Biggest mistake I've made in 5 years was going to CityMac.

DO NOT GO TO CITYMAC FOR ANYTHING! They are not an Apple authorized dealer. Any repairs from this store will VOID your Apple service warranty and leave you high and dry.
