Yes, first cousins. Lee's father and Cody's father were brothers.

We saw the accident after it happened when we were leaving Asheville to come home to Florida. Our thoughts and prayers go to this young man's family and friends.

i had known Cody since we were little kids. We grew up together and were close in elementary school. He was a huge part of my childhood memories and i am so grateful to have known him. Derek, Eric, Marshall, and Cody were my best friends when i was little, we had SO much fun!!!! And, though i didnt know him as a man, i will carry the memories of a fun loving, outdoorsy, good kid who loved mountain biking and building trails in the woods next to my house. He was truely an amazing kid and had a huge amount of compassion and was genuine in such large amounts as a young child that i can't imagine what an amazing man he had become. My prayers to his family and all my other friends at Owen high and those who knew him! Thank you for being you Cody. We'll all miss you!

I can't put into words what I am feeling or how we are supposed to get through this. Cody was one of a kind and part of a tight nitche of friends that cannot be replaced. Cody was more of a brother to me than a friend but I guess if our crew sticks together we can find a way to cope. My heart goes out to his mother, father, and son who are family to me. He was a very loved friend who will never be forgotten.

I know his mother but not him. Paula works for the Postal Service or did. Been awhile since I have seen her. May she find peace in knowing that her son is now with the Lord and one day they will be reunited.

I run a bike shop that Cody has been buying bikes and parts from since he was a kid. He used to come in w/his brother Isaiah. He was really young when he got into bikes and had a lot of talent even at that age. I can't say I knew him very well but he was such a sweet, polite kid. He always had such a supportive family. It is hard for me to imagine their sorrow. My heart goes out to his family. I will pray for his wife and son for whom his loss, I imagine, has been devastating. My deepest sympathy goes out to you all.

I have never said anything about Cody's passing. I have struggled accepting the fact I lost a brother. My heart is at peace now because I know he is in a much better place. I am thankful I got to grow up with Cody, build forts, swim, ride bikes! We used to build ramps to ride over out of anything we could find that would work. I will always have these memories ill never forget waking up on a Saturday morning seeing Cody sitting on the bank just waiting for my brother and I to come out and play! Cody taught me to roller blade which he made look so easy. I apologize its taking me so long to talk about Cody, I will miss and always love Cody!
