My boyfriend is a firefighter/emt. He was there and helped pull the girl out. He just informed me that the 14 year old girl just died at mission hospital. Both children did not make it. It's truly tragic.

I know the cause of the crash has not been determined yet, but I see so many trailers being pulled at too high of speeds and by people that don't know what they're doing. I think some type of license should be required to pull a trailer over a certain length.

what i see is a lot of vehicles w/ high horsepower that end up being labeled to haul a lot more weight than seems prudent. irregardless of HP your vehicle needs a certain amount of mass to counteract the mass of the trailer.

very sad.

This is very tragic and I hope the girl makes it and the parents can find a way to deal with this. Pulling a trailer is a very tricky business and more dangerous than people realize for several reasons. They stated that the travel trailer home started swaying. That is a very difficult situation for a even person seasoned pulling a trailer. Wind, speed and load distribution can all lead to a trailer swaying. The thing to NOT to do is hit the brakes. Even a 4' x 8' trailer can start to sway given the right circumstance.

Why you say that, she was just trying to keep people updated. She had the wrong info and apologized immediately for it. Don't be so harsh.

I was on highway 74 yesterday...doing 80 heading west. And I was passed by an RV. Guy had to have been doing 90 at least.

Sounds like you were pretty stupid to be driving 80--speed limit is 65. Guess the RV drive was even more stupid.

So soory for the parents! I was there and was the first to the vehicle. I opened the drivers side door so the rest of the family could get out. I hope and pray that the girl will recover. I don't know why the troopers want to charge anyone! It was clearly an accident and I witnessed the whole thing. If troopers need a statement, please blog and I will respond with a phone number.

Obviously you're the jerk because you're on here calling other people names when a terrible wreck happened today. I was just trying to keep everyone informed who were worried about it. You do not know how bad it was. I'm sorry that I was told incorrect information and I made sure that I corrected it ASAP.
