Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone here was a pain management patient (past or preset) and could recommend a good pain management doctor in Asheville or the surrounding areas.

I've had very severe chronic back pain since an accident about 8 months ago. I've been to a neurosurgeon who has done x-rays and an MRI, but hasn't come up with anything conclusive enough to do surgery. In the mean time, my pain continues to get worse and I'm being told I will need to find a pain management doctor for long term pain management care.

I would also be willing to go to a regular family doctor instead, if anyone knows of a very good family doctor who is willing to help with chronic pain issues and prescribe narcotics when necessary.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Thanks, Jeff

The best pain management is Marijuana, plain and simple. Honey, don't waste all your money to those legal Oxycontin dealers..... Get you some weed, stit back and roll you a big 'ol doobie... and it will all be ok.

oh you guys are really helpful to this person. I don't understand why you would even respond to Jeff if you don't have any really good recommendations. I mean I suffer from severe migraines and pain in my jaw from tmj a dentist told me six years ago that I will have to have my jaw broken to get rid of the pain. Meanwhile the older I get the worse it gets until I get the surgery. So please if you don't know of anyone then just don't respond to him sarcastically geesh.

Why you felt compelled to respond to a two year old post might be interesting. Jeff's post is from 2011. Do you really think he's hanging out here for two years hoping for some helpful information?

I think Blue Ridge Pain Clinic is near Asheville but you will need a referral from your regular physician or specialist to make an appointment. I'm not positive of the name but you should be able to google it. Good luck!

Thanks Lynn for your comment. Most people are unaware that Structural Integration is one of your most effective modalities in addressing common root causes of pain. It is more than a temporary fix. I have had hundreds of people successfully address back pain, TMJ, headaches, and other pain at Asheville Structural Integration. For more information go to AshevilleStructuralIntegration.com .

I'm SO SORRY Jeff that NO ONE will give you an answer. Aggravating isn't that people just want to give shit comments w/o actually answering your question. DO NOT GO TO MISSION PAIN MANAGEMENT !!!! Their bedside manner reminds me of 80 grit sand paper ! Dr. Buzznell is a VERY caring Dr and will more than likely help you more than most. I've had 3 hip replacements, 2 total dislocations and they tore the Meniscus in my knee putting me back together and I STILL CAN'T GET THE TREATMENT that I feel I need ! Mission has me on a 30 mg long term med twice a day, that helps some, but I'm still in constant pain. I have had my PC Dr give me a referral to Pardee Pain Management and I'm PRAYING they will help me. Getting IR med's is almost impossible these day's thanks to IDIOTS ! Blue Ridge Pain Management is where you'll find Dr Buzznell. I SO WISH people would keep their smart ass comments to themselves, it's bad enough to be in pain, even worse to reach out for help and get a bunch of stupid replies ! I hope this help's you and God Bless

MY POINT LYNN !!!! I'm in search myself because my PM Dr doesn't treat my pain, they just put me on a 30mg ER Narcotic that's about as much good as putting kerosene in a lawnmower...It'll run, but stutter spit & so on :/ I NEED IR MED'S at least 3 a day JUST TO WALK, I come on here ( As did Jeff ) looking for help and all that's on here are a bunch of SMART ASS COMMENTS ! GEEZ, WHY even respond ? People are just mean and useless in most cases

I wouldn't go to Blue RidgePainManagment. The staff are friendly but think they know more about your pain than you do. Dr Buzzanell started the clinic and if he doesn't want you there he will dismiss you without any explanations. A lot of PA turnovers so he must not be easy to work for. Just my opinion
