There aren't that many pain management clinics in this area for people like me with chronic pain to turn to.Is this something that could have been taken care of without going in this direction?

ONE HAS TO BE VERY CAREFUL WHICH "PAIN MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST" HIS/HER PRIMARY PHYSICIAN REFERS THE PATIENT TO. I HAVE FOUND OUT THRU PERSONAL EXPERIANCE BEING ON PAIN MEDS MYSELF, THAT MANY OF THESE SO CALLED SPECIALISTS ARE NOTHING MORE THAN GLORIFIED LEGAL DRUG PUSHERS.

I hope you never have to depend on anyone to help you with pain so you can have a half-way normal life.

I AM A PATIENT OF THE PAIN MANG. CLINIC, I TOO HAVE TO TAKE PAIN MEDS DAILY TO LIVE A SOME WHAT NORMAL LIFE, MOST PEOPLE WHO ARE HEALTHY DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY WE AS PATIENTS ARE SO VERY UPSET, I PERSONALY HAVE GOTTEN THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE CARE AT THIS CLINIC THAN FROM ANY WHERE I HAVE EVER BEEN A PATIENT. I HOPE THAT PARK RIDGE HOSPITAL UNDERSTANDS THAT THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR A LOT OF PATIENTS, AND I FEEL IF SOMETHING WAS TO HAPPEN TO ME I FEEL THAT THEY SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE, THEY HAD TO KNOW THAT THIS CLOSING WAS A POSSIBILITY SO WHY DID THEY NOT HAVE ANOTHER DOCTOR TO STEP IN TO CARE FOR THE PATIENTS IF ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME, THIS PRACTICE DOES NOT JUST TAKE ANYONE WITH PAIN, YOU HAVE TO HAVE PROOF THAT YOU ARE TRULY SICK AND YOU HAVE TO HAVE A REFERRAL FROM ANOTHER DOCTOR IN ORDER TO EVEN BE CONSIDERED FOR AN APPOINTMENT, I AM VERY UPSET THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED AND ONLY HOPE THAT WHAT EVER HAS HAPPENED WILL BE RESOLVED SOON, SO THAT ALL OF THE PATIENTS OF THE CLINIC WILL NOT BE WITHOUT CARE. IF THERE IS SOMEWHERE WE AS PATIENTS COULD WRITE OR CALL TO LET THEM KNOW THAT WE ARE HAPPY WITH ARE CARE, AND THAT MAYBE THIS MAY HELP THE DOCTOR, AGAIN I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING BUT I DON'T THINK IT IS SO TERRIBLE THAT IT IS WORTH MAKING SO MANY PEOPLE SUFFER.

I KNOW JUST HOW YOU FEEL AND WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT.LISTEN SWEETIE,THE REASON THE PLACE CLOSED DOWN WAS THE DRS WERE PERFORMING ACTIONS THEY WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE DOING. THEY ALREADY HAD TO TERMINATE ONE PHYSICIAN AND THE STATE TOOK BACK HIS LISCENSE TO PRACTICE MEDICINE.HE WAS GIVING OUT TOO MANY SCRIPTS TO PEOPLE AT ONE TIME.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU.....I to am a patient of the clinic and live with cronic pain daily. People do not understand what goes on in ours lifes until they walk in our shoes for a day.
I too have personally had the best results with this Doctor than any other Doctor that I have been to in the past 7 years. My cronic pain from a car accident (which was no fault of mine) 7 years ago and have literlly been thru hell ever since....when my primary Doctor referred me to the Park Ridge Pain Clinic and I saw the Doctor for the first time, I could tell he really cared....my level of pain has been the best ever....NOW, WHAT DO WE DO.....NO DOCTOR AND WE HAVE TO START ALL OVER AGAIN!
I did not ask to be in that car accident, nor did I ask to be in PAIN the rest of my life.
Park Ridge Hospital had to have know this was coming since they are the one doing the investigation....why? Why not put another Doctor in charge of the clinic at least for a short time until they get whatever it is they are looking for.
Park Ridge is ruthless when it comes to the patients....Do they realize how many people are going to go thru withdrawal without their pain medications? Do they realize how many people are going to be right back in the same PAIN they were before they just closed the clinic (without any regard to the patients)?
I too am very upset about this and pray to God that they can get the matter at hand resoved very soon so all the patients can get back to a half way normal life.

Garry....I certianly hope that by now someone has returned your call....
If you know of anyone we can contact, please pass it along....what are they doing with all the patients...
Park Ridge can't (or should I say should'nt) let all these people just suffer. We do have lives, jobs, etc.
After all we are normal people who are just trying our best to live half way normal lives with cronic pain.

MOST PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIANS WONT PRESCRIBE PAIN MEDS OR TAKE CARE OF CHRONIC CARE PATIENTS DUE TO THE MEDICAL LIABILITY INVOLVED.LADY AND GARRY I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING THRU BELIEVE ME I DO. I HAVE 8 LONG TERM DISORDERS BUT YOU HAVE TO MAKE A DECISION HERE. ARE YOU GOING TO LET THESE PAIN MEDS CONTROL YOU OR ARE YOU GOING TO CONTROL THEM?
AFTER ALMOST DYING TWICE WITHIN THESE PAST 6 MONTHS I MADE THE CHOICE TO LIVE AND HAVE CUT BACK ON MY MEDS AND FEEL BETTER FOR IT.YES I HURT SOME.BUT I HAVE FOUND OTHER WAYS OF CONTROLLING MY LEVEL OF PAIN.IF I CAN DO IT ANYONE CAN.MY MEDS WERE SO STRONG I WAS ONE STEP FROM BEING PLACED ON A MORPHINE PUMP AT THE HIGHEST DOSAGE.ITS A THOUSAND WONDERS I DID NOT KILL SOMEBODY WHILE DRIVING.YET NOONE SEEMED TO TELL I WAS ON DRUGS AT THE TIME, MY BODY WAS SO USED TO IT.NOW THATS SCARY.ONLY YOU CAN DECIDE WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. THERE IS AN EXCELLENT PAIN MANAGEMENT CLINIC LOCATED IN CLYDE.THERE IS ALSO ONE LOCATED OUT NEAR THE WEST BROOK MALL I THINK ITS CALLED.I WOULD BE FOR FINDING A WAY TO DECREASE MY MEDS IF I WERE YOU THOUGH.

Have you heard the latest? In the Hendersonville Times....FRONT PAGE NEWS.....
"PAIN MANAGEMENT CLINIC WON'T REOPEN"

I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT THEY WILL NOT REFER YOU TO ANOTHER PAIN CLINIC PHYSICIAN....SOME GARBAGE ABOUT DR./ PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY.

THAT'S CRAP.

ONCE AGAIN, WE ARE OUT HERE TO FEND FOR OURSELVES.

THE DRS CAN BE HELD LIBEL IF THEY REFER YOU TO ANOTHER DR AND SOMETHING GOES WRONG.IT IS AGAINST THEIR CODE OF ETHICS.THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION TO ANYONE AT ALL. IF THEY DO THEY CAN GET THEMSELVES IN DEEP DOODOO.

Would any of the patients at this park ridge pain
clinic tell the forum what the doctors did for your pain?

Because if this clinic was closed down for "documentation errors", it sounds like the
drs were busy with their Rx pads or the samples from the pharmaceutical companies.

I hope who ever is responsible for closing this place down is happy.I still haven't found a doctor and my records have been sent to many places, but most of these doctors are saying they will only treat people that have back, neck, arm or leg pain.My regular doctor wont give me the meds because she is too scared just like the other doctors around here. This is soooo much BS and I feel just like the others who have posted here.I don't understand why parkridge could not let us see a doctor for a few months until everyone had found a new pain clinic to go to.Ive had 8 surgeries and continue to have major problems, but I see no hope insight. This should have been handled another way!!!

Check out this forum regarding pain management clinics etc.
http://www.topix.com/forum/drug/methadone

There is a poster, Reetz1960 that will answer your questions and steer you in a good direction.

It is not just about methadone. There should be a thread on pain management. Or just look for name on the side of the threads and read her posts.

For such a religious community of 7th Day Adventists, it is not surprising that this clinic was closed down. I believe the drs thought they could hide in the community.

It is very difficult in this day to Rx pain medication or any Rx with a "C" in front of the script #. Different states permit different drugs
that are controlled substances.

A couple of years ago I hurt my back in a work related event. Work sent me to a back "specialist", who told me I'd be ok after some rest. My family doc gave me something for pain (so I could at least sleep). My wife asked me to try an acupuncturist. I did...and it worked. I went ~6 times, by the end I was pain free. It might not work for everyone but it worked for me.

I hope you guys find an alternative solution soon.

Anyone know of a good pain managment doctor in the Asheville area that will prescribe narcotics? I deal with daily chronic pain even after surgery. Thanks.
