Usually my bus is one of the calmer ones. But I guess the planets were in alignment today. Up in front there was a couple that was getting physically aggressive with each other, and the man was asked to leave.

In the back, a man was SHOUTING into his telephone about how he looked through all his girlfriend's text messages, only to find out that his girlfriend hadn't been cheating on him after all. His going through the text messages, however, led to conflict and the inevitable demise of the relationship which he could have avoided because nobody was cheating in the first place...

The other passengers sitting next to him started rather (loudly) saying "GEE, IT'S GREAT BEING ABLE TO KNOW OTHER PEOPLE'S PERSONAL MATTERS..." which the person on the phone just ignored...

An old lady wearing a hat and sunglasses started *SCREAMING*. Not sure if it was because of the guy being an asshole on the phone, or if the lady was just nuts. We tried to calm the lady.

At this point, I wanted to get off the fucking bus.

I ride the bus sometimes. Most people who ride the buses are very rude to the elderly. I have watched as an old and quite infirm woman got on the bus and not one of the young people seated on the seats near the front of the bus got up to let an old woman with her bags of groceries sit down. The bus driver paid utterly no attention to the old woman's troubles.

I was already standing, holding onto a pole, and quit long ago expecting that bus riders heed those signs near the front which advise riders to let the old and crippled sit in those seats. So the old woman hobbled to the back of the bus where another old woman yielded her seat. It was sad to watch. Asheville is a very cruel place to live.

And if you'll do a little googling, Asheville and North Carolina are low in the polls of being bicycle-friendly. Although it *is* friendly to her majesty, mayor bellamy, when she wants to squat her big black Lincoln SUV right in front of the doorway of McDonald's and block the curb service lane while her aristocratic sons go inside for breakfast. I was an eyeball witness to that gaudy spectacle of RANK HAS ITS PRIVILEGES.

And speaking of bicyclists, Tennessee is one of the places that has moved up the list of bicycle friendly states. Sometime back a female police officer in Tennessee was struck and killed by a motorist. A media frenzy followed. Laws were then passed in Nashville to expand the rights of bicyclists and increase the penalties against motorists who violate those laws.

I am an honest, taxpaying, medical marijuana smoking citizen who has just as much right to his seat on the bus as she does! Communism be damned!

The simple answer is our generation is selfish with no respect for others. No woman regardless of age should be standing if a man has a seat, but with most of the people on the government dole they are used to having everything given to them.

I never got my stimulus check. I wonder if it is accruing interest?

Same year that they stopped sending out electric heat support bills to the poor.

What about increasing the penalties against bicyclists that fail to stop for red lights and stop signs, weave in and out of stopped traffic (and then get hit and blame the driver of a vehicle), ride in the middle of the lane on a 45 mph road with no regard for the growing number of vehicles behind and on and on. The bicyclists I see pay no attention to signs, rules, stops or anything else. Let's increase those penalties as well!

We need more armed firemen. Remember the fireman that shot the biker?

I'm too fat and ugly and lazy to ride a bike. Thats why I hate people who ride them.

I aslo live in the dunghole of South Carolina which just sent a criminal to Congress and some people call it a banana republic. Calling South Carolina a banana republic is a slander on all banana republics.

No I'm 32, quite active, quite thin and I prefer not to ride a bike on city streets. I do like to ride where I'm not a major nuisance like a lot of the rude, fat-assed bikers you see. I also live in Asheville. My internet service provider never shows the same place twice for whatever reason may cause that. Looks like you're wrong on all counts but that's probably pretty common for a rude-ass dimwit like you I bet.

Former Asheville Firefighter gets 4 months for shooting cyclist.

That's a "slap on the wrist".
