I believe Zeb Quinn was the young man who disappeared from WalMart in south Asheville. If my memory is correct he was a emplooyee and never see after his shift.
I think there was a dog left in his car too. He has never been found. Anyone remember Lonnie Gamboa?(I'm not sure how to spell his last name)

OK. Thank you. A dead link had an initial headline that made me wonder about the mother. I went back and realized that part is not true and pertained to another missing child whose name I didn't get because of the dead link. My apologies.

Don't know. Haven't read him in days. Maybe I'm not choosing the same topics, but it's been some time now.

If AC-T reported this:

I missed it. But, isn't it strange that two skeletal remains have been found within a three day period?

Yes it really is. But I bet as horrible as reality might be, in the end families will be glad. I would be.

As would I. Incredibly sad but so much better than what an unsettled outcome can do to anyone.

I believe they arrested someone for that. It was a 'hit' on him and Tommy Forrester If I have my thinking cap on...that was a long time ago.

I believe they arrested two brothers with the last name of McMahan. That was a long time ago but I remember he was abducted from the parking lot of Sarge's on Swannanoa River Road. His body and the body of another person was found at the bottom of a mine up in Ash County.

Those were the murders committed Christmas '81 by the Gary Miller/Red Hattaway/Paul Bare gang, cocaine dealers connected to the Outlaws MC in Charlotte. They murdered Lonnie Gamboa and Tommy Forester whose bodies were found at the bottom of a vertical copper mine shaft, called the Ore Knob Mine, in Ashe County near West Jefferson.
The feds and Buncombe County's hothead DA, Ron Brown, fought each other over turf in those indictments and trials.
In court one of the participants, a self-proclaimed undercover agent named Joseph Vines, said he, Miller, and Red Hattaway kidnaped Gamboa in Asheville, drove him to Ashe County, and shoved him down the shaft to his death. An after- Christmas raid of Bare's Ashe County home yielded Gamboa's long .44 magnum pistol and holster in the possession of Bare's bimbo girlfriend.
Forrester had already been murdered at the mine for failing to pay his drug debts and for stealing Red Hattaway's Harley.
APD's Roger Buckner, and some wild country singer who doubled as a stunt man, found the frozen bodies in the mine shaft when they were lowered more than 200 feet on cables. One of the APD officers on hand when Roger was hoisted back up said that his face was pale as a ghost.
An action-packed book could be written about all those murders and the high-flying cocaine gangs, free-basing and killing all over WNC, and the BCSD's keystone kop operation at an Oteen Motel and residence where several principals in the Miller gang were holed up, including Lonnie Gamboa and a pretty UT coed from Knoxville in a motel room.
The drug culture of that era fried more than a few brains. WNC was under a deadly siege. I was glad to see it come to an end, but while it lasted the damage was huge. In one way or another free-based cocaine killed thousands.
And then even deadlier crack came along shortly afterwards.
And now I don't know which is worse, crack or meth.
By the way, the charges against Gamboa would have been dismissed like many of the others arising from the same bust. The cops kicked in doors and arrested and searched without search warrants or probable cause. Bank bags flush with large sums of cash money, some estimated at over $200,000, disappeared. This missing cash and a few missing kilos of cocaine created the bitterness, and probably some misplaced anger, which prompted the Gamboa murder. One of the deputies later left BCSD and began spending like he had won the lottery.
The deputy's story is another tragedy.
More to come.

I would like to add that after the 2 bodies had been thrown down the ventilation shaft, Bare stated that "that's 63 down the hole"! Yes, 63 bodies, of which 61 still remain in the tiers of the mine at the bottom of the shaft. The Nashville Flame publicly stated that he saw more bodies in the mine, but as SOON as they recovered the 2 bodies they IMMEDIATELY bulldozed the shaft in! One has to wonder exactly what kind of idiots were running this operation. Let's face it, Forrest Gump could have done a better job! The Truth Is Out There - SEEK IT !

Yep, you morons who think this story is funny need to think again. What if you had a missing relative? Would you appreciate a bunch of non-thinking dumbasses posting what they think are clever remarks about a body being found? No, you would not. So grow up, folks, and find some compassion for those families who are missing loved ones, and for the person whose bones were found. The fact that this was a human being is a reason to be respectful. No other reason is necessary.

Though "The Dark Knight" has been a bona fide cultural event, boasting rave reviews and boffo box office, it hasn't been immune to criticism. Some have quibbled with its political undercurrents, and others have criticized a muddled theme.

But here's the critique most widely held: Why does Batman talk like the offspring of Clint Eastwood and a grizzly bear?

interesting. I hadn't heard all of that.
But as far as this body found and them saying suicide, then I have doubts about it being him. From all accounts in the past, this young man had reasons to live.
