If not fifteen year old "sluts" what on earth would nosy people like you write about? Try kids with a vision of becoming somebody important - doctor, nurse, teacher. There are plenty of kids who have great aspirations, but I reckon they are not "newsy". You, my dear, are part of the problem.

The article about sums it up.

We are not doing our kids any favors if we don't speak out against this stuff.

Fifteen year old girls and younger have been selling sex since the beginning of time and it will continue as long as there are males and females. There are some very mature looking 15 year olds out there and they dress the part, act the part and can perform the part. Thing is, if you fall for the act, you could go to prison!

You said that right. I'd be scared to death to be 20 again. Okay, maybe not, but what you wrote is so true. Some states have laws that don't hold you liable for a young lady or gentleman falsely representing their age and having sex with them under false pretenses. I've got a huge soapbox about the underage thing and the definitions involved.

About Miley Cyrus? Waste of print even talking about it. Some of the parents griping about the VF shoot are the same ones that let their girls go out half-dressed to the mall or the movies or whatever. Sorry, but I've seen it a lot. Don't want your daughter earning her college tuition on a brass pole? Then teach her self-respect while she's young and to look for role models somewhere other than Hollywood.

As far as the Miley Cyrus photo shoot, nobody would have thought to say ANYTHING if she were at the beach with her folks in a 2-piece bikini showing yards more skin that she did in the magazine. To put things in proper perspective, there have been much more risqué photos in Teen Magazine and other magazines geared towards young ladies. This was an overreaction plain and simple. Ms. Cyrus felt comfortable about the shoot and the pictures until the public went nuts. I'd hate to imagine what she feels now.

Billy Ray was at the shoot, think her mother was too, so they can't say anything about it, guess they were planning for "After Disney"! Couldn't expect any more from her parents!

Have you seen the "behind the scenes" story on the photo shoot? Go here and see it for yourself:

http://www.vanityfair.com/culture/features/20...

She was laughing and having fun, the family was there, and she posed for some very nice photographs. The one 'sultry' pose was really tame compared to some of the stuff the photographer has shot in the past. Annie does tend to test the limits, but she didn't on this shoot.

Teenage sex. Lord knows it has made some headlines in Hollywood lately. The thing that a lot of folks have trouble coming to grips with is that telling a teenage girl(or boy, for that matter) that having sex too soon is bad is like telling a fat man salt is bad on his pork chops. They'll both listen, but some will heed the advice and some won't. There are somethings you just absolutely can't control. Like I said before, try to instill those values early. Turn off the TV and talk to your kids. They may pretend not to hear, but you'd be surprised how much they DO listen.

The kids are not the PROBLEM. They only raise to meet the expectations of the parents and society.

And the bar is being set too low- by adults.

NMB, you are so right about swimsuits and the acceptance of provocative beach attire. It is the camel's nose under the tent. If they don't wear it at the beach, what's wrong with not wearing it anywhere else?

These young girls are essentially NAKED at the beach and adult male strangers are getting off thinking about having sex with them. And the ADULT PARENTS bought the thing and take her dressed in it straight to the eyeshot of these men.

It must be OK, though. "Everyone else is doing it."

It doesn't have to be this way- if parents would just wake up to what they are REALLY doing to their children.

I am sorry Local, I dont mean to laugh but do you honestly think that most men go to the beach to see little teeny boppers in skimpy beach attire so they can "get off"? Good lord.

Have you seen some of these 15 year olds in their bikinis? They are well endowed and act the part, teasing all the way, they do look good but you better not go near! They are children under the law but women in appearance and action and they have been fertile for years! Remember the hottest "Porno" star a few years back, until it turned out she was 14 when she started? Made 100s of films, can't remember her name and never saw one of her movies but she was supposed to be the best! Millions of copies had to be pulled from video stores and copies go for a big price! Molly can play in the new "Lolita" movie!

To all of the folks up in arms over the Miley mess:

Just take a look at the PROM PICTURES in this very publication and there is just as much skin showing on some of the girls as Miley exposed.

These kids are her age, 15.

The girls parents and a rep for Disney were on the set when the photos were taken and no one complained then .....

I think the entire dust up was planned from the start.

Lokel, I was just thinking the same thing about the petticoats these young girls are wearing for prom dresses. And their mothers BUY them for them and send them out with a h***y guy on the 'big date' with their blessings...

For crying out loud. I just recently helped purchase a prom dress for a young lady. Although certainly not my style and maybe a bit too revealing, it certainly wasnt a "petticoat".

Local, a prom is a night of dressup and a magical time. If a guy and a girl are going to have sex, they are going to have it regardless of whether the girl is in a slip of a dress or in full armored body gear!

What do you suggest they wear? A toga and a sheet over the toga?

Do you think they there for the sunshine vitamins?

I GUARANTEE most of them wouldn't even be there if the girls were dressed in modest clothing. They wouldn't waste their time or money.

Dunnin' I am thinking that when we offer these girls up on a silver platter to their dates- even if it is 'just a little revealing' we are endorsing the the mood it creates. IT IS meant to be a 'magical' event but we say so much more with our actions than our words, and our actions say to the fellow "I KNOW you have spent a lot of hard-earned money on your tux and corsage and tickets and limo and supper and the pre-party so take this beautiful young woman with most of her boobs hanging out of her clingy dress (that shows the outline of her thong) and you all just go have a 'good time'. You have earned it, and besides, it's socially acceptable."

We can so so much better by our daughters.

But it will take a BIG social shift and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I feel so sorry for the roomful of young guys who are in a room full of gyrating young ladies who leave very little to the imagination. What are they supposed DO with them? What are they supposed to think of them? How can they REALLY respect them?

I guess my point is we are forever encouraging our girls to be sexy with our words and actions and then we can't figure out why many guys don't respect and often abuse women.

I don't want to fuss anymore about this because everyone know how we feel in this household.

And dunnin' it looks like we may be neighbors soon (and I am almost sure you already know me). You'll like me when you meet me, and you'll realize I'm not a mental case at all. I just have very strong feelings about the root cause of some abuse- for some very good reasons that I can't get into here.

These girls going to the prom could be so tastefully glamorous they could knock any boy's socks off. But, I just don't see it. When these prom photos first started showing up, Like Lokel, I did view them. My daughter's proms have yet to be this year and we've been through a few. I saved two photos of what I felt to be total class and beauty to show all three of my daughters. Out of the whole lot of them...only two!:( Granted, not everyone made it to the paper. I am happy to know that my daughter's agreed. What is going on??? I'm no prude, but my goodness! Ick. It's not just the skin, it's color, style, hair, etc....Boys not excluded! sigh.... Again, I caution the parent bashing. Could be the friend they went with to choose the dress/tux deep down not wanting the other to look as good as themselves? Competition you know. Could be the sales people? Telling them they look fabulous all the while really just thinking about inventory, money, and getting it off their dummy and onto the other dummy as quickly as possible. Don't want to be stuck with this one!
