Evidently a lot of people didn`t agree with you. On fridays when they serve fish you can`t hardly find a place to park or sit down. The rest of the week they are pretty busy too.

Everything I've ever had there just comes out soaking in grease, it's disgusting.

That is why they call them greasy spoon resturants. Don`t like them, go to one of the franchise resturants. Eat that old dry dead chicken.

The food doesn't suck. It may not be the best in the world, but it's far from sucking.

Yeah, it`s not bad, just not real good. I miss Rauligh`s, or however you spell it that used to be there and on New Boston Rd. He used to have some pretty good mexican food. |

and a decent chesseburger basket. Nothing special but better then Micky D's or Burger King. |
You should go to the Burger Barn in Wake Village. The new people who just opened it back up again have GREAT burgers. They use black angus beef. |

Beef is the key word here. Most of the new franchise resturants are trying to stuff chicken down our throats. Even the drive-ins are pushing chicken sandwiches and rollups. Tyson and Pilgram have done some good marketing.
It`s hard to find a good ole bowl of Texas red anymore, and every greasy spoon cafe in town used to have their own chili, and chili-mac. |

I ate often at the Burger Barn years ago when it first opened and it was quite good. Haven't been there in a few years I may give it another try.
Yes, the Chicken Kings have done a remarkable job of marketing. It hasn't hurt their cause that a health craze has swept the country in the last several years. |

I didn't care much for the old burger barn, but the new orwners have a great menu.
What's wrong with chicken? Chickens great, and has less fat then beef, unless you're talking about fast food lol. |

Nothing wrong with the chicken
Don`t worry about the fat. Enjoy the Steak Song Lyrics, Still gonna die. ========== So you're takin' better care of your body Becoming more aware of your body. Responding to your body's needs. Everything you hear and read about diets, Nutrition and sleeping position and detoxifying your system, And buying machines that they advertise to help you exercise. Herbs to revitalize you if you're traumatized. Soaps that will sanitize. Sprays to deordorize. Liquid to neutralize acids and pesticides. Free weights to maximize your strength and muscle size. Shots that will immunize. Pills to re-energize you. But remember that for all your pain and gain Eventually the story ends the same... You can quit smokin', but you're still gonna die. Cut out cokin', but you're still gonna die. Eliminate everything fatty or fried, And you get real healthy, but you're still gonna die. Stop drinkin' booze, you're still gonna die. Stay away from cooze, you're still gonna die. You can cut out coffee and never get high, But you're still gonna, still gonna, still gonna die. You're still gonna, still gonna, still gonna die. Still gonna, still gonna, still gonna die. You can even give aerobics one more try, But when the music stops playin', you're still gonna die. Put seat belts in your car, you're still gonna die. Cut nicotine tar, you're still gonna die. You can exercise that cellulite off your thigh. Get slimmer and trimmer, but you're still gonna die. Stop gettin' a tan, you're still gonna die. You can search for UFO's up in the sky They might fly you to Mars where you're still gonna die. You're still gonna, still gonna, still gonna die. Still gonna, still gonna, still gonna die. And all the Reeboks and Nikes and Adidas you buy You can jog up to heaven and you're still gonna die. Drink ginseng tonics, you're still gonna die. Try high colonics, you're still gonna die. You can have yourself frozen and suspended in time, But when they do thaw you out, you're still gonna die. You can have safe sex, you're still gonna die. You can switch to Crest, you're still gonna die. You can get rid of stress, get a lot of rest, Get an AIDS test, enroll in EST, Move out west where it's sunny and dry And you'll live to be a hundred But you're still gonna die. You're still gonna, still gonna, still gonna die. Still gonna, still gonna, still gonna die. So you'd better have some fun 'Fore you say bye-bye, 'Cause you're still gonna, still gonna, still gonna die. |
I don't like dry chicken. I do in fact like a lot of the greasey spoons around Texarkana. But Sue and Carrols if way to greasy, and rather bland. Although I've had some good pie from there. |

I'm thinking there were two different Rawleighs brothers that owned them, could be wrong. It's now Panda's. It's not even as good as it use to be. Then nothing ever really seems to be as it use to be. Back when I was about 10 in the smokey mountains we called them "hole in the wall truck stop's". The "Burger Barn", yes it was at one time a good stop. Then it got where you could never depend on it to be what you wanted, or to even be open. I dislike food and legal people that you can't depend on. They always' leave a strange taste in the system. JMO! |

Burger Barn had great food I never had a problem there. Shame it closed down. Anyone now what happened?
