I think he's doing a great job. We are much better off than some towns around us. If we go to 5 members I'd be afraid we would get people like Lil that would run with no one against them and then we'd have problems.

Does an avocate of unemployment get to be thought of as doing a great job?(dispatch to Ashburnham)Someone close to me will lose their job if this happens. what then? Great job! loyal town employees unemployed.Dispatchers save lives, thats not going to help a victum of domestic violence if there is no safe haven in town.do you know how many walk emergencies ther are in town? he has his mind made up already. shame on him
He was in the middle of that whole firetruck fiasco. great job then? 325,000 dollars in the hole. hmmm person BOS would keep everyone in check.this is not a dictatorship and should be the voice of the people not the person(s).

Obviously the fact you have someone close to you on dispatch is affecting your judgement. Ashbys taxes are going to have to go up from Ashby Elementary's roof and the new high school. I applaud the BOS for trying to save us some money. I think it was quoted that the cost we would need to upgrade the 911 equipment was over $200,000, meaning even higher taxes. If we can join Ashburnham and get the grant then I say go for it. It was also said that in a couple of years the state will mandate having 2 dispatchers on for each shift. I don't know how many calls Ashby gets but I'm sure it doesn't warrant paying to have 2 people on. I feel really bad that some might lose their jobs but maybe some can get hired by Ashburnham. These are tough times and we need to look at the big picture. I think that is what the BOS is trying to do.

you didn't answer my first question.

rumors of mandating are scare tactics.

My judgement is only affected by the safty of Ashby residents. about the walk in emergencies?

Ashby is a joke to the surounding towns .

The BOS's solution of mergering is only taking focus off their short comings of why Ashby does not have a new police station, a post office that does rent and a colossal eye sore and waste of money in a libarey.

I don't believe mandating is a scare tactic. Sometimes people in charge have to make tough decisions for the best interest of all the people. Ashby residents do not want their taxes to go up any more than necessary. I know I don't. The people voted down the police station and voted for the library so why blame the BOS. Did you vote for a new station - I bet not because you don't want the higher taxes either. I'm sorry about your friend possibly losing her job but hopefully something can be worked out. You can't be happy about their current working conditions. The merge would solve all that. I don't think Ashby is a joke. I'm proud of our little town and think you should be too. We are a lot better off financially than a lot of other places considering we have no businesses in town. I suggest that if you are so unhappy you stop complaining and run for an office. Writing negative things in a newspaper doesn't change anything.

what kind of problems?

Do you know her?
Do you think she has her own agenda?
You don't think she wants whats good for ashby?
Maybe you should sit down with her rather than form a cable access opinion.
At 82 years old, I doubt she has her own agenda.

please tell me, what kind of problems does she pose?
you said it not me.

Do you know why there will be mandating? I do,Its for when the dispatchers are certified EMDs. which none are.
If you don't want high taxes don't move to a small town.I did vote the new station. Asbhy needs it to grow.(the good of Ashby remember)
So when the Asbhy officer arrests someone and of course we have no place to jail them, he drives the prisnor to Leominster. then theres no one in town to protect and serve while he gone.
now what? What if he has car trouble on the way or back(broken down fleet of cruisers.)
Ashby at risk. thats what you want, your going to get it.

none of the things Ive typed are untrue although they may be negitive. how do you know I don't already serve in some way but are stifled just the same?

Oh please, everyone thinks she's a joke. I appreciate her past service but its time to "retire". She had things so messed up at the Treasurers office that they had to bring someome in to straighten it out when she was voted out. I cringe when I listen to her speak at school committtee meetings or read her comments in the paper. She probaby means well but she's confused and doesn't listen to the conversation, asking questions 20 minutes after they've already been answered. This isn't just a cable access opinion it's a general consensus.

I don't understand what you mean by certified EMD but either way they will need 2 on at a time and we don't need to pay for that. I thought we bought new cruisers and if we go in with Ashburnham maybe we can bring prisoners there, its quicker.
I read the new plan and I think Ashby and Ashburnham are going out of their way to do their best for the dispatchers. I can't imagine many places would do this to keep employees happy like Ashby is. I think Kathy B should be thrilled and get that chip off her shoulder. They could have just closed Ashby dispatch but they are trying.
I don't know if you already serve but the selectman election is coming up - nows your chance.

Emergency medical dispatcher

See your getting half the truth, why is that?

"I can't imagine many places would do this to keep employees happy like Ashby is."

you mean like last summer when it was 94 degrees in the dispatch center and they were told by the BOS to open the windows. or when the the snow was 30" deep on that flat roof last winter (2010-2011)a concerned citizen called Mr McMurray and asked for help and he told her to mind her own business. Ok Yes your right they go out of their way to make them happy.

BTW that is all true.

after this is a done deal and dispatch is gone you can throw a party for King Peter and the BOS cronies and then go stick your head back in the sand

You should be all for them going to Ashburnham where I bet its air conditioned. As far as the snow if there was a problem why didn't the Chief or an employee let the Town Administrator or Assistant know and I'm sure they would have had it taken care of. You seem to have more arguments for the move than against it. I haven't heard you say one thing to change my vote against moving them to Ashburnham. You just seem to have some major grudge against the BOS and can't seem to see the big picture.

two hour a week Chief ok.
Linda was to busy blaming someone else for the $325000 firetruck loss,
"the assistant" is a snivling little rat
how do you know these channels we're explored.
why did Peter say "mind your own business"?

what I'm trying to say is nobody cared.

I can't change your mind. it's already made up.
besides I wasn't trying to, I just want you to pull your head out of the sand.

It's too late to end the McMurray show, too much damage has been done. The fire truck fiasco was $348K and it was never heard about again. Is that transparency? Someone should have been fired.

By the way, when the snow was on the roof of the station, there was no Town Administrator, McMurray was running the show as usual.

Lil asked too many questions, that's why she was told to mind her own business.
