Police say a man held his girlfriend hostage, tortured and raped her Tuesday while her two young children were in the same apartment.

Ryan, if this is not a true story then she would have had to inflict some pretty extreme injuries on herself to back it up.

IF he actually did it (anyone remember 'innocent until proven guilty'?), then it is truly a horrible crime, but one can't help but wonder what she might have done to bring this on.

Before I get stomped all over from the "men bad, women good" crowd, I'll just point out that this obviously stemmed from a relationship between 2 people. So just maybe, there is a little more to the story than what the police are saying.

Of course there's two sides, but are you kidding me?! Can you honestly say that there's ANY scenario that would make it understandable for a woman to be raped with a knife (maimed!!) and bitten repeatedly?? If there's that big a problem...leave! Nothing gives anyone the right to hold another person hostage and terrorize them and torture them....especially with children in the house!! And of course the mother would keep quiet...if that guy would do that to her, what do you think he'd do to a little person who interrupted? Huh?!?! Are you seriously suggestion that she could have done something to deserve this?

Look I can't stand man haters anymore than the next guy. But this has nothing to do with feminism. It has to do with someone that is so tapped in the head that he tortured, and from the descriptions of her injuries, maimed her. This guy is one of those, I don't see how he could ever be rehabilitated, types. Lock him up and flush the key. I don't want to hear about him torturing another woman to death in 10(or fewer) years while he is out on parole cause some moron with a degree thought he was cured!!

My prayers go out to her and those children. They will need all the comfort that can be sent their way.

I grew up with her and she is a very nice women and its just horrible that anyone can think that it is ok for anybody to be assaulted under no circumstances and if he was so sick then he should have been aware of his symptoms don t tell me that this is the first time that he realized the effect of alcohol with his so called sickness that he knows can get him off of this how convenient yeah right

Now, even though it "takes two to tango", IF these accusations are true (they are after all only accusations at this point), then he should be held accountable to the highest degree the law will allow. A few things worth noting are 1.: No specific injuries were reported and if you DID make a false accusation to such a degree (not saying she did), logically, you would claim to have some severe mental injuries. But in every other instance you read about, the police have NO issue reporting the specific injuries..... and here they did not.
2.: There is just no way possible (that I can see) that the children wouldn't have been aware of something occurring in their midst. Remember, the report claimed this happened over a "long period of time".... How is it then that NOBODY, including the children was aware of it? Now, JMS wrote that maybe she was protecting them.... so, JMS is to believe that this woman was COMPLETELY silent during this "long" event?(not buying it). While I believe a crime was committed against her in some manner, the accusations seem a little trumped-up. Remember, police are in the business of gaining as many charges as possible against an accused person. And to believe for one second that their views aren't slanted in any way, is obviously ludicrous. Again, I believe SOMETHING occurred, and he should be held responsible, but the facts as put forth in the newspaper just don't add up so far. I just pray the truth comes out whichever way it goes. INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. To act otherwise makes you no better than the accused.... think about it.

I know this guy personally. He was friends with my brother. Hell, my mother even gave him a ride home once. I see this guy everyday at the place that I work at. I see him AND the victim. I had always thought the victim was his mother, due to the age difference, but when I actually met the dude one day at my brother's house I found out differently. Either way, dude definitely has an attitude problem. I seen the way he talked to her at my place of work and it was never good. Like I said, I've seen the guy around a bunch of times...maybe 5 times or so a week. He wasn't a terrible guy when ya talked to him, but he definitely has something going wrong upstairs. I hope the lady gets better. From what I hear [she lives a few houses away from my brother], she is still in the hospital and in really bad shape. The emotional aspect of this is going to damage her forever.

I'd also like to know what this women did to cause this poor guy to go off like this. Perhaps she was an incessant nag and bitch -- ever hear of verbal abuse? This poor guy needs help, not prison. Shame on this judge for being so harsh! Hopefully Governor Patrick will step in and give him the help he needs. His situation was caused by the environment he's in -- I think it's only fair that he receive free medical care from the State so he can be productive again.
