Wake Up Call
|
Here is a solid message for every other kid out there who has not been caught, THINK TWICE before you get stupid.
It is likely they will all get slaps and a minimal scare out of this, but I do hope it serves as a lesson to all.
Is it worth it? Any of it? The trouble, the headaches, the legal issues, and embarrasment to the families?

I blame the parents in this incident. If they were truthfully away, some one should have been left to watch their home as given the opportunity, a teen will always take advantage of the freedom. Too bad these athletes have to tarnish their records with such stupidness.

Not the parents fault

These are 17 and 18 year olds. Hardly kids.

Stupid is as stupid does
|
ah...... yeah, they are kids.
18 does not neccesarily signify an adult. In a legal sense sure, but in reality, not really or seldom ever.
Why should the parents be blamed? They probably trusted the kids. All parents want to believe in and trust there kids. We all want to believe we pass on good values and morals to them, but as much as we give them the tools, it is up to them, our children to use them. It is not like they expected this or encouraged it. It just something happened.
The blame lies with in the individuals who made clear concious choices to be there and drink and carry on in the activity outside.

I am jusy wondering were did all these kids under 21 get so much beer. I think who ever got them the beer should be in jail also for distrubuting to minors. I think if beer was not in play here these kids would of not acted the way they did .

Kids OR adults who cares...they are living at home with mommy and daddy. That makes parents partly responsible. They have duty to the neighborhood and society. I am sorry, but blind trust to teenagers this day is not a good mix.

Tired of this stuff
|
I think this town really needs to put in place some stronger rules and guidelines at the high school. This along with all the other stuff that is going on at the HS is driving the desire of living in this town down. It will have its effect sooner or later. If it isn't the kids in Leominster you are concerned about...I am sure you won't like what it does to your property value..beautifying the town is just a mask...

Cmon people what is wrong with everybody?!!!!!I said it time and time again! punishment doesnt work,we need to give young kids choices, here in leominster there is NOTHING!! for young people to have some fun, today I was driving on route 12 and I saw the reality, there was fun (bingo) only for the elder!! and my son playing soccer on a muddy DOYLE FIELD,see what I mean? elders lived their youth in a better world,is up to us to give our kids and youngs some alternatives of fun,and they WILL think twice about getting stupid, please! you want a judge to ruin a kids life? for real?

First,... those young men are going to wish the judge threw the book at them when he’s through with them! Why? He’s the grandfather of one of them and he’ll probably have all the parents in his Chambers and ream them but good, then have those young men doing more community service in each other’s cities than you thought humanly possible to teach them a lesson about respecting your opponents and neighbors.
Second, I know a bunch of their parents. The parents are not to blame. I can tell you these young men were not unlike many of us adults when were their age and you know they shaded the truth to their parents. I know that one of those young men probably got a beating at home from his father worse than he got from the other young men that night. I am also certain that a majority of them won’t see the light of day until they graduate from their respective high schools.
Finally, I think we should all be glad it wasn’t over drugs, gang turf, and no guns or knives were involved in the incident. It was some overly proud high school students mixing up against their rivals with their knuckles. It reads like a story from the 1950’s instead of today. Thank God.

Been there done that! Any of you people ever been to the ROCK? We know that risk-taking behavior is much more common among teenagers, so there is also an age angle involved here. For a teenager, sneaking a beer is one thing, shooting up heroin is quite another. Missing a parentally imposed curfew is almost expected, and disappearing for days is heart-wrenching. There is risk, and then there is risk. Most of life is about taking risks, it is how we grow, develop, explore and learn. The risks involved here are very serious and could have done harm to others. But they haven't, and each one these kids will face the consequences of their behavior. These are "private matters for these students" The parents have a bigger role to play here than government, and they will monitor their behavior and impose their own rules to protect them and everyone else from harm.

I hope someone actually follows up for a response from LHS Principal Tom Browne regarding these incidents of the past few days involving Leominster High students.
He always seems to be conveniently unreachable or unavailable.
I hope good journalism prevails over what this principal deems to be the political correctness of avoiding the issues.

These boys..young men..adolescents will be labeled 'troubled' They will have their names in court documents and probably have a criminal record.
Why isn't there one female named in this entire incident. It is unlikely that there wasn't any girls at this party. They were probably drinking, joking & flirting with the guys and adding fuel to the hormone driven fire of these boys.
But when the whistle blows, fems know how to turn on the waterworks and play coy.

These are football players who are drinking. They do have better things to do, but they chose to drink. Take the blinders off, you have tried to hide your unruly kids behaviour for some time now. They don't raise themselves. Where were the parents at that time of the morning? with that many kids at their house. The neighbors are probably happy they won't have to put up with their parties anymore.
