I am not sure about this one, but the Donnelly and Bean decisions are just outrageous.

Mayor Wong don't let the old officials intimadate you and your decisions Fitchburg needs new faces maybe some rehired ones too. A difference of opinion because he did the right thing may have cost him his job by the former mayor. Keep trying and DO NOT let the sore heads get you down.
I've heard some positive comments about what your doing there one especially was the hiring of the new police chief. not one of the click.. you came into a whole bunch of problem get them resolved one at a time

I urge the Council to remember why Shuris was terminated initially. Insubordination and incompetence among other things. As a manager he lacked the support of his department. What makes Mayor Wong think that anything will change?

I believe that this is a good hire. Mylott had no idea what he was doing half the time, and Shuris KNEW far more than Mylott, and thus the reason why he got cut. After all, Mylott's repaving program was really stupid to begin with. The only areas that got repaved where the back roads AROUND the inner city, as the streets in the inner city (for the exception of Summer Street, from St. Bernard's to John Fitch Highway.

Lisa, bring back Shuris. Make it clear, to the Mylott Leftovers, you mean business!

City car what are you thinking!

I can no longer support the new mayor.

One breath she wants to take away city vehicles the second she gives them back out what is going on?

Then to give someone 119 sick days from five years ago give me a break!

Let's see if the bobble head crew that sits in council chambers will just keep nodding.

Why does the DPW boss need a car?

Let's see drive your own car to work, park in the DPW yard and take a small s-10 pickup truck to the office if you really need a car.

But why does he need a car do we not have cops driving around where if there were an emergency they could pick him up and take him to what ever street has the problem.

Come on Lisa get a grip your starting to become clueless.

ok so we are now taking back a person that has been fired for insubordination, inefficiency and incompetence and then sued the city twice won one and lost one. Well Mayor Wrong please let me know why he is now so "extraordinarily" qualified. Also with the cars being a weekly news item we give him one way to go. Now also giving back 119 days of sick leave HELLO he was fired and you speak of prior contracts from seamstress misalot

You mean to tell me that there are no other people out there they can hire, without the history he has with the city? To give him the sick days and car is just a slap in the cities face. They are struggling enough as it is. This man sued not once, but 2 times. What is wrong with this mayor? Start from scratch and get some new blood in there.

She has no choice but to keep Mr. Bourque in his position, everytime she doe's this type of thing she's loosing more support. Ask some of her former blind supporters what they think now.

Jim would be an excellent choice for the City. He brings competence, professionalism and honesty. He always did what was in the best interest of the City and its taxpayers. Jim unfortunately got dragged down by the politics of the day and it was the City's loss. The City will not have many chances to retain someone of this caliber. A smart move on the City's part!

I believe her lack of experiance is catching up with her. The way she has handled personnel matters since entering office shows me that as strong as she may be as a financial manager, her human resource skills are not where they should be. She needs to surround herself with a quality cabinet, not those from the past who have an ethical cloud over them. To avoid being cast in the net of with those that have an appearance of impropriety, she needs to so some soul searching when she selects those entrusted to do her will. Best wishes to you, Mayor Wong.

I don't see the upside to rehiring someone who was dismissed. It's a big world out there - there must be at least one other qualified candidate who would take the job.
Without knowing more, this seems to be an example of extremely poor decision making.

If he was fired for "insubordination, inefficiency and incompetence", then how has he lasted 5 years in Concord? Doesn't that say something about the people that forced him out of Fitchburg?

Any naysayers are just talking fluff so that if something goes wrong then they can say "I told you so." I say let Shuris work under good people and see what happens.
