Does mean that the emergencey room will no longer be the primary care facility for every Puerto Rican in the city and actual insurance paying people will be able to get seen there in a reasonable time...

why does everything in this comment section have to be so racist. My husband is Puerto Rican has graduated High School is going to college still at age 34 and he has a job with health insurance. I find the racist comments in this section VERY OFFENSIVE. I am white and I see an awful lot of whites who are hanging around town everyday high on crack and God knows what else. Stop the racism!!!!!!!!!

At least we should weed out the illegal aliens. Send them back to their third world hell holes and let them get free health care from their corrupt governments

Who cares where henry is from. The fact is that this place was built for non-white, non-english speaking people. Another free hand out for the "hard working foreigners" who have done nothing to learn the language or get a job.

The place was built for ANYONE that needs health care. What in the name of all that is dark and fuzzy makes you think that the only people that are struggling with health care are "non-white"? The color of your skin makes you no more or less of a citizen than anyone else. Get over it. In the real world, health care is a wide spread problem for people from all walks of life.

I have to add some Kudos to the Bovenzis for giving something back to the community in which they have been able to prosper.

The Bovenzis are also the benifactors for Our Fathers House in Fitchburg. They do give back and certainly can afford to. I also don't think it'll do much for the ER. Those who get free care will go to where they think the best service is since they feel entitled to it. Those with free care and no co-payments go to the ER for a cough and runny nose while those of us who have to pay wait until it's a real emergency. Then have to wait while all these people get some free cough medicine.

Everyone is on an even playing field and no hard feelings about what the other guy might be getting.

Yes, illegals working under the radar will be able to go to a physicians office rather than the ER, earning $$ under the table with no taxes withheld and we will pick up the slack. No hard feelings? Why do Canadians and Europeans with the bucks come here for health care when a catastrophic illness strikes???? How does the single payer healthcare system work then?

My spouse is Puerto Rican, we are both college educated, and do VERY well. The white trash I see floating out of Litchfield Terrace in the morning could fill a month's worth of Jerry Springer shows. Some people will never learn to judge the PERSON, not their background. Yes you can make generalizations, I understand that's natural, but don't take it too far. For some reason, white trash gets a pass in this country for the most part. I guess they are not such an easy target since they maybe grew up in the same town as you did, and they speak the same language you do. Think about it

Most people understand that no whole race is bad. The problem many have is people that come here but refuse to learn the language or follow the rules. I married a Russian immigrant and she took night classes to learn Engish as soon as she got here. Within about 3 years she was working in a hospital lab. When she first started working hotel housekeeping she asked a Spanish co-worker, who has lived here a long time why she didn't speak English her response was I don't need to. This is the problem many whites have. It seems English is only important to get something free or to claim discrimination. If people are going to come here for a better life then they should try to earn it instead of expecting it to be given to them.

I agree with DJB. I don't think anybody has a problem with legal immigrants who come here legally, learn the language, pull their own weight, get tax paying jobs, and basically follow the rules of society. The problem arises when people come here and expect to be taught in their native language K-12. Yes, there is white trash in the Montachusett area - but we are also flooded with immigrants, many of whom feel no need to learn English or live by the rules of society. This is what upsets those who play by the rules. Don't get your dander up,"Oh Brother", you are playing by the rules. But I imagine you know a bunch of people who don't. You are the exception to the rule.

LOL As I read the comments that keep being posted I can't help but laugh. I am a Native American, and I see how everyone wants to make racist comments, well, if I wanted to be as ignorant as the rest of you, I could make the comment to you to get out of my country, for all to go back to where they came from... But I won't. Poor Henry, Just getting a picture in the paper gets him discriminated against. I only wish that just once those of you who have the quick hurtful comments, that you can feel what is like to be treated like that, without even knowing the real you, that's ok. You people are the stepping stones to make us stronger on our way up the ladder of life.

I am sick and tired of my hard earned tax dollars going to people who sit at home waiting for their monthly check to arrive and to fill their EBT account with grocery money. I spent years as a single parent and never took a single handout and paid for my own health insurance. That is something to be proud of. I'll also bet they are not hiring anyone at this new place that isnt bi-lingual. Now that is discrimination. Lets just keep creating places for all these illegals to feel nice and comfy.

A lack of health care is a death sentence. Instead of enforcing labor laws, you would literally prefer that, not even illegals, but anyone not sufficiently fluent in English just die? You wish death upon them. That's pretty sick. The same people that write in here about what scumbags the kids in the police logs are, then turn around and express the desire for fellow human beings living in your own town to die of illness so as not to "waste" your precious tax dollars. Excuse me, I have to go throw up.
