Martha Svedberg's agenda is getting back at Ashby

I saw this in the comments of the sentinel and now I see the light. I guess Martha has an issue with Ashby because they caught her trying to illegally build an inlaw apartment over her garage. It cost us taxpayers thousands of dollars. Is this why she and Steven want to take over Ashby? I love the sign they have up stating "save Steve's voice and vote Martha" I thought, Martha, you had your own voice.
The following was composed by Betsy Dilbeck, former reporter who covered Ashby. To the voters in Ashby I would like address an issue on two points with the candidates statement issued by Martha Svedberg, in what she hopes to achieve as a member of the Board of Selectman, if elected, in Ashby. She states, "...I want to assure that the Town of Ashby is governed openly, fairly, transparently, and without the least doubt of its lawful behavior..." Ms. Svedberg and Mr. Ingerson work together for what I might assume is 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Mr. Ingerson pays Ms. Svedberg's salary. And there will not, I assume, be one word between them regarding Town of Ashby business? If they do, it is not 'lawful behavior". Just asking. Also, according to public records at the Town Clerk's office. Mr. and Ms. Svedberg have been in a 4 year battle with the Ashby Zoning Board of Appeals regarding a garage they are building on their property. I 2008, it appeared to the Building Inspector and the Zoning Board of Appeals that the garage was more than a garage with second floor space. The issue escalated when the Appeals Board upheld a request by the Building Inspector The Board of Health and the ZBA to abide by the original plans submitted, or get the proper permits for a second residence, as that appeared what was being built. The Svedberg's sued the Town of Ashby and the ZBA and the Building Inspector in a Civil Suit in Superior Court, in which, they subsequently agreed, in 2012, to an "Agreement for Judgement", to do the very thing the Building Inspector and ZBA asked them to do in the first place. This action cost the Town thousands of dollars in court and legal fees. If Ms. Svedberg wants "to administer a town which is a good steward of its assets, is efficient with its resources and revenues, and is not a financial or regulatory burden to the people who are supposed to be in its beneficiary.", wouldn't you avoid costing that same town legal fees to defend a suit that many might consider "frivolous"? As a reporter of news and events in the Town of Ashby since 1997, and a former resident, I never, ever, found the Board of Selectman, the administration, employees or appointed officials to be anything but open and honest in dealing with town business, the public's business, that I was reporting. Every resident that has run for the Board of Selectmen, with an agenda and platform such as Mr. Ingerson's and Ms. Svedberg's, finds out after 3 or 4 months of meetings, hands-on work, and in learning the process of town government, that Ashby is indeed a success story in managing their taxpayer's money, complying with the rules and regulation of local and state government, with "lawful behavior". These candidates that are going "to establish a method of public accounting.." and accountability, soon learn there is nothing going on behind the public's back. Mr. Ingerson should do his "due diligence" as a new selectman, and Ms. Svedberg is not the candidate who will best serve the Town of Ashby. If she is elected, there will always be the question of "lawful behavior", of ethical behavior, between Mr. Ingerson and Ms. Svedberg, regarding town business. Betsy Dillbeck

Ms. Dillbeck, the Town of Ashby is not the bastion of integrity you describe it to be. The town budget has increased 300% or more since I'v been here, 20yrs. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are unaccounted for. Taxpayer money is given away to friends of government at will, conflict of interest and lack of integrity are the norm. Information to taxpayers has been deliberately omitted. I don't know the story about Ms. Svedberg but I do see Mr. Ingerson asking the right questions only to be stonewalled by individuals who are conducting themselves, according to you, "lawfully".
