UMM- I have a question- what about the override to keep the firefighters on a 24/7 type of schedule- that was the tactic used if it did not pass- we will have no coverage for nights and weekends if you do not pass the override- well- it passed- where is the coverage- last time I checked- FF do not keep bankers hours- m-f 7 am to 4 pm is not the way to do it- we need some changes made NOW!!!

The bigger issue is poor management and the need for Chief Zibikowski to step aside.

This isn't the first time they have failed to respond in a timely manner.

The S&E should be asking the question "how many on the fire dept. staff are of management level, chief, asst chief etc.?" Why has the chief set up a manpower schedule not assuring that at all times one of them will be on call, if for nothing else than to make sure someone shows up?

I once rented from and lived next door to a rural district fire chief and this is exactly how it was set up. In fact he personally responded to any call that came in when he wasn't on duty as a Captain at the full time city dept he worked for, just to make sure his people showed up.

Zibikowski is a blame others first type person, always has been. It's time to step aside for the safety of the people of Ashburnham.

The town has a limited budget, especially in the times we are in. We need a Fire Chief that understands this and understands he/she needs to make it work with what we have. Not a chief that is worried about accumulating power through size.

Time to take out the trash.( I am sorry but it sounds like Ashburnham needs to start over and re-evaluate how it wants to protect its citizens.)

So Stephen when are you signing up to volunteer? Because that is what it takes... either that or money... you choose. Criticizing accomplishes nothing.
