Stephen, you expect the fire chief to be in town, available and able to respond 24/7/365?? Really? He's not entitled to a day off, dinner with his family, time to do yard work, pay bills, walk the dog, play with the kids, love his wife? Just what job in this country would be worth giving up all the things that make life worth living?
What do you do, Stephen, and does your employer expect you to handle everything that could possibly come up 24/7/365? Somehow, I think not. If the furnace malfunctions at 3 am do they call you? I suspect not. The fire chief cannot be in all places at all times. Sometimes all the little coincidences add up. Why don't you get off your high horse and go ride someone else's *?
You either lack reading comprehension or didn't bother to read what I actually wrote. I simply pointed out the question was never asked by the paper as to where he was. In fact I specifically pointed out he may have had a good reason he wasn't around, but why wasn't he asked? Same for the rest of the staff.

You blindly support them, are you so myopic that you are not willing to poke your nose under the tent?

Outrage?? I see you and 1 or two others carrying on here. And all of you seem to have a greater agenda than a missed call by the AFD. If it wasn't for people arguing with you, this would have died out quite awhile ago.
And by the way, the first time you used the "straw man" comment it sounded good. After the 3rd or 4th time you just sound pompous.
Follower of Saul Alinsky are you Sgt. Hulka?

"...would have died out..." Just what the AFD would like to happen. Nothing to see here move along.

So if I sound "pompous" for pointing out their tactic after the "3rd or 4th time" what does that make them sound like after their "3rd or 4th time" of using a straw man argument?

My guess is you don't actually want to answer that since it's merely meant as an attempt to marginalize my argument and myself, ie Saul Alinsky style.

As far as how many people are responding as your proof, do you honestly think the majority of townspeople make their feelings known on a board such as this.

I smell Rule #13.

You certainly do! Calm down yourself. Have you asked the questions yourself? Have you talked to the Chief or any firefighter about the situation? How do you know the Selectmen have not spoken with the Chief? Just because its not posted here or anywhere else doesn't mean it hasn't been done. Sheesh!

Saul Who??? I will admit I had to look that one up. Now I'm convinced you're one of those people who combine arrogance with trivia and try to pass it off as intelligence. Sorry my friend, it isn't working.

As far as the rest of your comments: From where I stand, you never answered most of their questions, either. You prefer to stand behind your Cloak of Anonymity and shout the same lines louder.

Dude, what it simply comes down to is this: If the people truly care about this, then it will get addressed. Through the proper channels. Perhaps it already is. You don't even know do you??
All you do is sit and peck away at your keyboard. Have you talked to anybody from the FD? Gone to a Selectman's Meeting and asked? No? Because that would require coming out from that cover of anonymity.(Or wait, let me guess. Nothing will happen because it's all part of a grand conspiracy involving all levels of government. Riight.)

See, that's how real people address issues, not hiding in the shadows and crying to the local version of the National Equirer or their blog. Seriously, this ain't the Washington Post. The S&E's investigative reporters (hahahaha) have already moved on looking for the next "If it Bleeds, it Leads" headline. People who live in the real world really don't give a [email protected] about what anonymous people with petty, personal agendas cry about here. You and one or two others are the only ones crying here (And one of them slams anything remotely related to Ashburnham)

Look back on this blog. If people weren't arguing with you this WOULD have stopped along time ago. I's suggest to Mary, Bro and the other firefighter to just ignore Steven and he'll just go back to screaming on the local park bench.

By the way, what is Rule #13? "Stephen is always Right? Even when he's Wrong?"

When the dust settles and the town administrator is through looking into the situation many may find as a town we aren't in bad shape. But I know most here suscribe to " don't impress me with facts my minds made up".
