i think that big al just hates the fact that no gives a damn about him those kids are blessed to have such a caring woman to rais them and from what i heard about the family when i was at the sight their mother was a great smart loving woman so maybe big al you should take a cue from your friend Resident Alien and just shut up... the show and the crew and the community need to be praised for what they did not judged by an uninformed idiot... AND FTR THE KIDS NEVER MISSED A DAY OF SCHOOL DURING THE WHOLE TRANSISTION OF LOOSING THEIR MOM THEN THEIR UNCLE LEAVING OR LIVING IN HOTELS....I PRAY THOSE KIDS AND THAT WONDERFUL WOMAN DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH IDIOTS LIKE U

I came to rockvillie from baltimore county with is an hour drive yesterday very excited and was disappointed with the people that work with ty.when they were picking kids to work with paul i asked about it and she said they had picked all they needed only to watch her pick other children after she told me she had enough.I wanted to donate my service to the Jackson family when i finally got the chance to talk to Pagie she signed me and my daugter t-shirt i asked her if there was some way i could talk to someone about doing the kids hair for free ,for school she told to talk to someone with a walkie talkie I tried but know one would listen to me.It was not a good experence for me and my feelings was very hurt.I watch the show every week and finally I thought I was going to get the chance to help in some way and still can`t because I was ignored and i kmow why.

Did they upgrade the septic system?Check the well to see if it was going to provide enough water for so many people? I'm just asking questions! I have never said this family did not deserve a decent home, I just hope they are not used to make "good" TV and then find themselves unable to keep up the place. I guess some people are more awe-struck about taking in nieces and nephews than I am. To me, it just seems like something family would do for each other, but maybe not all families would. What has me irritated is that the show seems to blow in to town, get people excited about "Hollywood" coming and then it's gone and people forget that there are other people who could use some help. I read in the Gazette that the show donated to a Rockville program on behalf of the family. So, the Poolesville area didn't deserve anything? I'm sure WUMCO would have loved a donation.

This lady is a hero and has taken on alot for her sister and it makes me mad that ignorant people need to make mean comments about her. I should have said that there is some mean people in Poolesville.I am very happy for her and wish them the best!!!!

The Associated Press:'Extreme Makeover' house faces foreclosure 'Extreme Makeover' house faces foreclosure 1 hour ago LAKE CITY, Ga.(AP)— More than 1,800 people showed up to help ABC's "Extreme Makeover" team demolish a family's decrepit home and replace it with a sparkling, four-bedroom mini-mansion in 2005. Three years later, the reality TV show's most ambitious project at the time has become the latest victim of the foreclosure crisis. After the Harper family used the two-story home as collateral for a $450,000 loan, it's set to go to auction on the steps of the Clayton County Courthouse Aug. 5. The couple did not return phone calls Monday, but told WSB-TV they received the loan for a construction business that failed. The house was built in January 2005, after Atlanta-based Beazer Homes USA and ABC's "Extreme Makeover" demolished their old home and its faulty septic system. Within six days, construction crews and hoards of volunteers had completed work on the largest home that the television program had yet built. The finished product was a four-bedroom house with decorative rock walls and a three-car garage that towered over ranch and split-level homes in their Clayton County neighborhood. The home's door opened into a lobby that featured four fireplaces, a solarium, a music room and a plush new office. Materials and labor were donated for the home, which would have cost about $450,000 to build. Beazer Homes' employees and company partners also raised $250,000 in contributions for the family, including scholarships for the couple's three children and a home maintenance fund. ABC said in a statement that it advises each family to consult a financial planner after they get their new home. "Ultimately, financial matters are personal, and we work to respect the privacy of the families," the network said. Some of the volunteers who helped build the home were less than thrilled about the family's financial decisions. "It's aggravating. It just makes you mad. You do that much work, and they just squander it," Lake City Mayor Willie Oswalt, who helped vault a massive beam into place in the Harper's living room, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Wow. A mall security guard who couldnt even keep up her old house gets a spanking new one to raise 14 bastards in! No mention anywhere of the fathers of these bastards. This house will be trashed in 6 months.

OK,
So you found 1 family that lost their house. That is one out of 5 years of homes being built, lots of which I bet you would say would trash or wouldn't be able to afford to maintain them. They even do shows were they go back and visit the families (which in turn shows you the homes), and I have yet to see one that is trashed. |
