Hi all! I'm considering moving into a townhouse in Flynn's Crossing, but I'm having a hard time finding any info on the community. Could anyone tell me, does it have playgrounds, parks within walking distance, pool, tennis courts, walking trails, community association? If any of you live there, do you like it? Good for kids? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you are talking about Hearthside at Flynn's Crossing on Ryan Park Ter. then No there no playgrounds, parks, pool, or any other type of common are. The kids have to play in the street and if you have large vehicles or more then two there is very limited parking.

Parking is limited in Flynn's Crossing because many residents use their garages as storage and refuse to park in their driveways/garage. The community was primarily developed for white- collar techies in a telecom corridor and is not kid friendly. Not much common area to add playgrounds (safely). No room for pools and any pool membership/affiliation would be costly and would increase HOA dues.

Flynn's Crossing at Ryan Park is not a good neighborhood for children. No play areas (except the streets) no pools and no large enough common area to add any of that. Parking is fine if you actually use your garage as a garage. There are both 2 and 1 car garages available.
The neighborhood seems to have been designed with a more urban feel and not as a family community. There are plenty of other family friendly neighborhoods in the area.

Yes, it is true that all high-tech white collar professionals live in this community. It is a rich community. Never was there a foreclosure in this community. Very lively community. Many people who have 1-car garage, park their 2nd car in the guest parking spaces. However There are plenty of parking spaces on Waxpool road. There is a huge ground on the between Shellhorn Road, Ashburn Village Blvd and I-267. It is owned by this community. Instead of developing community amenties there, couple of powerful community members wanted to sell this part to a person for just 55K. Since majority of community members did not agree it is not sold. Children do not have a designated lot and end-up playing on the road in summer. But it is so close-knit a community that you really feel like a family. No one bothers to interfere though. Excellent community. Plush location.
