While doing a search on traffic in Ashburn, I came accross this message that a gentlemen posted to his Mayor. He highlights Ashburn in a very positive light, and I thought I would share it here.
*Note, I have not corrected grammar, but rather left the post as originally written*
Dear Mayor ,
If you want to make Granite City look nice
you've to clean the town up, put
restrictions on Companies , Business owners ,
rental property( owners ) and property
owners, This willtake a "TEAM EFFORT " .
They've to keepthere inside/ outside of the
building keep clean and the yard has to be
cut 2 -3 times aweek including flowers ,
brushes , it all have to be manicured.
Make any Company ,Business, etc , have to
keep up on there maintence daily ,
have it where anyone throws trash out of car ,
etc , they will get a fine . There's a city in VA , called Ashburn Va , we drove through that town and
I never seen a prettier city , the
business ,Property owners all took
pride in there town , anywhere you
looked , the grassy areas was manicured
the buildings was maintain , nothing looked
out of place , all the streets were
concete. The entire town looked like
a golf course .......These are people
who appreciate there town and everyone
is making an effort .

Ashburn is a pretty town, so is South Ridding and now I understand Brambleton has grown very large this is a very nice letter for this person to write.

Long ago, Ashurn was nice. You could drive down Waxpool for a country drive. Now there are 5 Waxpoo's and traffic. You do not want to be around Wegman's off of Waxpool during Christmas - there has to be a policeman to direct the traffic. All the houses and apt's look the same. I had to move to Leesburg because Broadland's Apt. was raising the rent again - too much for me. I moved to Leesburg, to another apt with a better rent price. I am so glad I did. I like places that have personality and people more down to earth. I am a Artist, not one of the Jones. So it was the right move. I know more people in Leesburg than I ever did in Ashburn. It seems like the big communities are all about impressing each other. I'm glad I got out of that.
