Stonington neighborhood on alert after series of break-ins

Stonington _ A string of break-ins has one shoreline neighborhood on alert Monday.

These crimes are being committed by thieving scumbags who exist and operate in "tough times" as well as prosperous ones.

Also, when this story ran on TV yesterday it included the usual nonsense from the reporter about how ...folks around here are not used to locking their doors...

You cant even make that kind of stupidity up.

I used to leave my doors unlocked when I knew my kids were going to come home and they didn't have a key. But the two 80 lb German Shepherds we have would have foiled any attempted burglary.
With all the home invasions in the news these days, it's time to have a dog, and a gun in the house. Even a small dog has the hearing, sense of smell, and alertness that can result in giving you the jump on a would be burglar.
