I am Keith Gregson's cousin, and I have known few people in my life that I could call true Christians - people who are not hypocrits and who truly believe in what Jesus TAUGHT us. Keith is one of those people. The judgmentalism I'm hearing about on here at the Ash Flat Church of Christ just reinforces my decision years ago to leave the CoC. I now attend and love a local Desciples of Christ Christian Church in the town where I live. That church embraces Christ and what he taught, which was NOT to judge, but to welcome everyone into the fold and support them with prayers and love. Those of you who are without sin may cast the first stone.

The Disciples of Christ christian Church is just another name for the Church of Christ. They teach the same heresy.

Keith Gregson got exactly what he deserved. Yes, he has (notice I said has and not had ) a drinking problem and yes he needs help and guidance with that, but if he can't deal with his own abuse issues, he certainly isn't in a position to be counseling others for the same thing. And I would have a really difficult time being receptive to a preacher who can't practice what he preaches. the biggest hypocrite a AFCOF was Keith Gregson!

What is the church in Ash Flat that had the split about a year ago? I heard a hand full of members left and have been having church in their home... It was a small congregation to begin with but that handful of folks seemed to follow a woman who got mad over a needy woman who ask for some food to take home after a dinner at the church. The angry woman just blew up about not wanting to help the needy woman... I am not sure about the others who followed her but it certainly was not christian like and that angry woman has been very bitter (to everyone) ever since. She is eaten up by anger... I would like to find out if the little church there is doing alright now. If I heard the preachers name I think I would recall it. I am sincere about this and making sure the little church is growing and alright. If anyone knows about this, please let me know. Thanks, God bless.

In response to the comments about Keith, I have known and gone to church with Keith for years and years! He baptized both of my sons and just last week, my grandson. I have always been able to call Keith with any problem and he always says ok, when or where. He has never been to busy to help. He has helped me and my family many times over the years and would today if I needed him. Keith is a Christian who loves the Lord and people. He has devoted his life to the Lord. He who casts the first stone!!!!!!

The truth is religion is a crutch for people who cannot accept that death is the great equalizer, that it is a definite end to your existence. There has never been any proof of God EVER. Your Bible is a cherry picked collection of ancient fictional texts, further cherry picked by a religious zealot who had his own agenda. Hell by all accounts Noah was a drunk right?Kicking a preacher out of your church because he has a substance abuse and/or drinking problem, maybe you guys should look at your rainbow wristbands that say WWJD.

Most church splits come from people being up set about how the "church" is "looked" @ by others. Sad that it happens, but it happens all the time. All because of people looking down their noses @ others. Jesus didn't hang out with the "rich" he hung out with sinners. So if all is true about a man being told to leave then it was God taking him out of a place where he truly wasn't loved. Love does not judge. He is better off to hold his head high and go where God needs him =)

Our Church did love Keith and tried for months to help him get the help he needed but Keith chose not to do that. It's just like if you were to show up drunk at your workplace you would get fired too, right?? that is what happened at this church except the people there love him enough to give him chance after chance and they are still trying to help him and we all pray for him. I get so tired of everyone thinking it's the churches fault when it's not but now really who cares b/c this happened years ago. it's time to move on and the church has a God sent preacher to deliver his message.

Ok I have reviewed your creation of this thread and I find it hindering to the human brain. I am sickened by the lack of IQ people have and the morals they fail to exhibit when asking thoughtless questions. Whoever started this should end their life, its pointless to go on. May god have mercy on your hopeless souls.. I wont! Oh and this is to all of you that posted comments without cause on here..
I HATE YOU ALL!

Well I can tell u this about keith gregson, he is a good man & a wonderful preacher. The church that got rid of him AF C of C is nothing but a bunch of hypoctites that gossip about everybody & think they are better than you! I have never seen such goodie 2 shoes & cliques. It is just like being in highschool all over again. Yes Keith has had an alcohol problem many many years ago, that does not make him a bad person & does not mean that he cant serve Jesus Christ. From my understanding, his alcoholism tried to sneak back into his life & he went to his church to ask for strength & prayers & he ended up fired. That is just the way that church is. As far as him womanizing & drugs, THAT IS NOT TRUE!!!!!! Keith would give anyone the shirt off his back & the last dollar in his pocket. He didnt just read straight from the bible he told stories & made it so interesting that even kids loved hearing him speak. He now preaches at a little tiny church out in the Liberty Hill community that started out with only about 12 people & they have grown so much since Keith has been there that they are busting at the seams & seeing about 75-100 people on an average Sunday. That my friend is the spirit of our Lord at work!
judge king is also a member there and that should say all that's needed about this church except maybe the elders (e.m) don't meet the criteria biblical speaking.

damm man, i beleave you are jesus christ, the way you talk,,,,,antichrist will come,or is he allready here, all you'll want to please every one just like the anticrist, think about you idiots, and TRULY REPENT
Only the blood of Jesus wrote:
You are not reading the verse correctly. And you never did answer me on how the thief on the cross made it to Heaven when he was not baptized?
REPENTANCE is what SAVES a person. Yes, one should be baptized after they have REPENTED, but it is not the baptism that saves you.
If it were true that baptism alone saves you, then why doesn't your church hold a mass baptism so that everyone can get saved whether they REPENT or not. You have yet to explain this and using this particular verse out of it's original meaning does not validate your claim.
If your verse is what you claim it is, then how do you explain this one...whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Uh, no baptism here.
Or this one...If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Uh, no baptism here either.
Or this one...Long ago a jailer asked a religious prisoner that same question. He received a concise answer, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved you and your household." ...Uh, no baptism here either.
Or this one...For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Uh this one would actually almost exclude baptism since it is not of works (baptism) lest any man should boast.
Or what about any of these other verses?... the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes...he [God] purified their hearts by faith....We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved...If you confess with your mouth,'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved...By this gospel you are saved, IF you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. OTHERWISE you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance,(1) that Christ died for our SINS according to the Scriptures,(2) that he was buried,(3) that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and (4) that he appeard to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more... As for you [believers], you were DEAD in your transgressions and sins [before you became believers], in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air [Satan], the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient....We were by nature objects of [God's] wrath. But because of his great love for us, God who is rich in Mercy, MADE US ALIVE with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved...Anyone who believes in the Son of God has this testimony in his heart. Anyone who does not believe God has made him out to be a liar, because he has not believed the testimony God has given about his Son. And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who had the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life...
There are SEVERAL other verses that specifically teach that baptism does not SAVE. When you can explain how your simple work of baptism saves as opposed to JESUS DIEING ON THE CROSS as a living sacrifice for YOUR SINS I would love to hear it. It sounds to me like you are in a cult. I believe the term for the church of Christ folks is aptly stated - water dogs - because of your false belief in baptism saving you.

keith is a good man. the ash flat church of Christ is one of the best churches you will ever find. satan had his way. came between keith and the church. keith is an alcoholic and has not taken care of his problem. satan has his way too many times in this world. the church had no other choice and was very loving and worked with him to try to get him through his sin problem. God bless us all -- we all need Him!

Who are the people that attend this church and what kind of problems do they create for Ash Flat? Was thinking I may need to avoid them all together.
