First of all, it's "an everyday." Funny, but if this was such a frequent occurance, you'd think you would hear about it in the paper or something. Find me a link to a similar event and repost it here.

Suspect gives up at Parole Office
RED BANK: Kevin J. Gumbs, the parolee being sought by Keansburg police on drug distribution charges, surrendered to the state Parole Office here today, police said.

Keansburg Deputy Police Chief James Pigott said officers were sent to the parole office to take Gumbs, 29, into custody and transport him to Keansburg police headquarters for photographs and fingerprints. He was then expected to be taken to the Monmouth County Jail, he said.

Gumbs was one of five people the borough's street crimes unit had charged with various drug offenses during a two-week investigation, Pigott said.

The others had all been arrested on Friday and either released on bail or were held in the county jail, he said.

No mugging, no pitbull though. Actually, this couldn't have ended more peacefully, he turned himself in. Having grown up in Jersey City, Keansburg is relatively tame. What born and raised was shocked about was that you (or someone like you) hadn't taken the opportunity to bash the borough. Guess it's a moot point now. Illegal drug use, and the crimes that go with it, will be a problem until a better solution is found. The government's "war on drugs" is an abject failure on so many levels. I only feel sorry for the loved ones, especially the children, left in it's wake.

I've lived in East L.A. and the Southside of Tampa, Keansburg is very tame compared to many city's across the country. Sorry to dissapoint you "Burg haters" but Keansburg was a great town to grow up in, besides O'hare and his boys will chase those fake ass wanna be gang bangers out of town, trust me.Keansburg will be back to normal in a few more years.

Just to let you know I was at the Hospital the night this young man was brought in by ambulance, with a police escort.

I was there for the interview while caring for this young man who was brutally attacked by people who are from Asbury Park, not Keansburg. They may live in Keansburg but there from Asbury Park.

I was there when the statement was taken and collaborated with witness statements that this young man was followed from the cash checking place on Carr Avenue to Cash his paycheck (oh look another working Keansburg man).

I was there at the hospital when this young man was being shot up with drugs he did not want, nor deserve for the numerous dogs bites all over him.

I was there when this young man went for a CAT Scan and I was there when the results revealed that he had swelling of the brain from this beating.

I was there when his mother showed up and looked at this young mans face and I was there when she cried over her sons health. I was there when she asked if the teeth that were kicked out of his mouth could be replaced.

Oh by the way he was there when I left the Hospital.

Today paper:KEYPORT — Police arrested a 26-year-old Keansburg man on a shoplifting charge and when they took him into custody, they found heroin on him, authorities said.

Shawn Cuccolo of Seabreeze Way, was charged on May 2 with shoplifting and possession of heroin, said Chief Thomas Mitchell.

Patrolman Gregory Johnson arrested Cuccolo after he stole sunglasses from the Stop & Shop on Route 36, police said.

The Keansburg man was being held this morning at the Monmouth County Jail, Freehold Township, in lieu of $10,000 bail.

No animals used, no teenagers involved and no mother leaving her kids to viciously attack someone. I'm sure if I didn't have a job to go to, I could comb the police blotters and find residents from many other Bayshore towns in there as well. This is not shocking at all, dope fiends are known to do stupid shit. He probably nodded off with them halfway in his pocket.

Keansburg, was the victom hispanic? Blacks in other parts of Monmouth County have a history of robbing illegal Mexicans because they know they work for a living and most likely carry their money on them because they can't get bank accounts. And they know they rpobably won't even call the police.
