What we have here is a bunch of stupid high schoolers who have no business being out on the streets after midnight. They don't know how to drive with skill and think that they are invincible, therefore putting the rest of us at risk. They didn't deserve to die, but collectively they never seem to learn and stories like this replay on and on and on.

There was alot of activity down at Pomona's parking lot last night and in the street drag racing, alot of music, hooting and hollering. No drinking and drugs? Yeah right.

What does what happened at Pomona have to do with this? This is a very sad thing.
Lets not speculate.

The loss of young lives is always tragic. However, it begs the question in this case, what were they doing out at that time of night!? I have lost a child to different circumstances all together and I do understand the heartache that the parents now know. That being said, our kids were NEVER allowed at that age to be out in a car full of kids with a teen at the wheel ever, let alone at that hour of the night. So many parents of today are afraid to discipline their children and say NO or expend the energy to be responsible in their stead!

It happens all of the time. Kids think they are invinsible. I just hope parents use this as a tool from which to teach children how fragile life is.

Good lord, I heard all the firetrucks and ambulances from NW denver... You can always tell how bad it is whether or not there are 3 cop cars racing up Sheridan or 45. Last night > 45.

Why? The poster is exactly right. These kids can barely drive. Do they even learn to drive in school anymore? We used to have driver's education. They don't have it anymore, apparently.

It seems like every couple of months here in Denver we hear about a car full of kids getting into an accident with at least one occupant dying. It has become a regular occurrence.

My heart goes out to the parents. I couldn't imagine how I would feel if I lost one of my kids. However, what were these kids doing out that late? Why were there so many kids in the car when there was only supposed to be one according to state law? Parents, please talk to your kids about how important it is to obey traffic laws so that we may prevent more of these tragedies in the future.

Would really like to know at least what school they attended, please release info soon if anyone knows.

As for teaching the kids its always quite hard when everyday your lectured about how to be safe and drive safely. Everything becomes less and less important and when it comes down to it all that lecturing is really just talk until you experience it yourself. Sadly i think the best teacher in this case is life.

And all in all these kids weren't brand new drivers compared to some others. Yes they had at least a year but they were still likely seniors seeing as its still quite early in the school year and they were all 17 :S.

Look forwards to any information about them soon...

If they have had their license for one year ( and being 17 it is possible) they can have more than one person in the car. Just a tragic accident.

Isnt there a new law that says if you are 17 you cant have any other people riding in the car?
