When I witnessed this I asked the clerk how they could purchase liquor with an ebt card and she said that they get a portion of their benefits as cash and can purchase liquor or anything else with it. They just have to ring it out as separate purchases. I am not trying to force any opinion on anyone. My opinion is that the money that I work very hard for and is deducted from my paycheck should not be used to purchase liquor. And, I am not small minded. I am a hard working American citizen who would like the money that I make to be used to better my family and not to support someone's addiction.

I trust you enjoyed calling me that unsavory thing.
I'll let you wonder how money I've given to poor kids directly; not tax money -- my money.
That's the difference between your type and mine.
Your user name descibes just what kind of person you are "simple". Seriously, it's because of people like you who make people who need help ashamed to get the assitance they need and then they go without for so long and end up hungry and homeless. Also, what do you mean "your" type. I highly doubt you are any better than anyone else in the world. God forbid you ever lose your job and not able to afford the basic needs to survive. And for your information, all kids deserve a nice holiday so it's nice that they are offering to have some of the baskets available for ebt purchase. I'm guessing you have none since you are so against this.

Not all people on goverment assitance are bad, sneaky, or deadbeat. Wake up and move along troll.

You are so right. You aren't small minded, you're simple. As in idiotic to feel that people on food stamps are drunks or whatever. Not everybody is like that. A lot of them are hard working americans as well. I'm sure there are a lot of people in "your" class who are unfavorable too.

I am not an idiot and I did not say that everyone on welfare is a drunk. I have family and friends who receive assistance. Some abuse it and others use it the way it was intended. You are right, there are unfavorable people in every class. I am not against helping people who fall on hard times but I am against people using the money that I work for on things that are not necessary for survival. And I am by no means upper class, just a middle class mother who has worked all her life to help support my family. My husband and I have been fortunate to have held steady jobs since we got married, and have been able to provide without any help, but, you can rest assured that if we ever did need help we would not use money that was taken from working people and buy alcohol with it!

Nobody deserves nothing from nobody. Are you sure about me? Are you sure I haven't been cupbord-bare starving? Are you sure I'm not under the poverty line even now?

When I'm up, I give. When I'm down I don't ask. That's the difference between your type and mine. Glad I've earned your ire.

I know people who shop at factory to you outlet store in Roswell and they use an EBT card to by clothes, but that's another necessity. I never heard of anyone buying alcoholic beverages with an EBT card though.

I give up, apparently I am responding to people who are totally clueless! Only in America would people look down on you for prospering and praise you for being a lazy blood sucking leach! I work hard and so does everyone in my family. We do not depend on the Government or tax paying citizens to support us. As far as "get off your high horse" goes, I will remain on my high horse as it keeps me far away from people who are sucking the tax payers dry! I would never teach my children that it is ok to slack and let people who work their asses off make up the difference. That would be the same as handicapping them. GET A EFFIN JOB AND SUPPORT YOUR FAMILY!!! Pfffttttt!

How much money does one paycheck or all of them go towards people who get assistance? I am just wondering. Is it a dollar or thousands of dollars?

And for your info you have no idea if the person who is paying for the alcohol with cash is indeed using the cash from an EBT card since the card can be used at any ATM to take money out. Now you can guess to see if that cash came from a card because they dont want people like you talking smack.

It does not matter how much,we have been programed by our govt to believe it is a necessity to have them take our hard earned money and hand it over to whom ever they think needs it. The problem is,the govt will give assistance to anyone who asks for it,they need to justify their jobs. When you have worked for a living your whole life ,without ever once getting any sort of govt assistance,it makes you wonder why in the hell that perfectly healthy people want to live their lire on the govt tit? So ,I guess what I am saying is anyone who takes from society without ever putting anything back ,deserves nothing. The govt is the problem, they have created a monster that they can no longer feed without raising our taxes, and yes it does piss me off to see the waste! So all of you who believe that these lazy people are owed anything other than air to breath and the opportunity to be a productive citizen are also part of the problem. Try teaching your children to be responsible adults and not a liability, get off your fat, govt fed rear-ends, and show your children how to take pride in being a hard working individual, not someone looking for a free hand out, believe it or not,IT IS NOT FREE,we will all pay for it.Also if you can't afford to buy your kid an easter basket with out the help of the govt,STOP HAVING KIDS,it doesn't get any simpler than that! YOU ARE OWED NOTHING!

SHUT THE F UP! I was not addressing you and surely you can go find some other forum to post your nonsense on, jeez you really cannot just butt out can you? I do not care what anyone says it is a fact that the money, no matter how much, is taken from working people's paychecks. If you are completely honest with yourself you will admit that we all know families that abuse the system and teach their kids to do the same. The system is broken and something has to be done. I will continue to teach my children that is they want something they must work for it because nothing is free, NOTHING!!!!

I just read your link and it only supports what I said, the money comes from taxes collected from tax payers! What was the point of that? And I do know it was an ebt card because the clerk told me it was and complained that she sees families come through her line day after day using them and teaching their children how to type in the pin number. What a joke! Pathetic!

I got into my old Toyota pickup truck that needs work and tires Hmmmmmmm.
Do you remember whem being on welfare was a tool to help people get by between jobs? Now it is a way of life for many generations, they teach their offspring to milk the system as well.

It also states where else the money comes from for it is just not hard working people. It comes from corporates and estates as well. As for the EBT card thing, I was not disputing anything.
