Well good for the MVD employees!!

Why don't you make it illegal to anyone to obtain a driver's license unless the person can prove his USA citizenship and NM residence? Illegal aliens should not be allowed to get licenses! You should throw Governor Richardson out of the office for such folly as allowing illegals to get driver's license!

Where did you get the idea they don't have to prove all that? Didn't you notice the words "fraudulent documents" in the story? And this is Gov. Richardson's fault ?how? exactly? The Governor's office doesn't write the MVD laws. |

It's Gov. Bill's fault because he pushed legislation that allowed non-citizens, even illegals, to get NM drivers licenses. It was a bunch of BS about making it safe for them to drive and get insurance -- which they mostly don't do anyway, so that was a false premise.

Gov. Richardson make it so that illegals can get drivers' licenses and therefore vote! It was one of his crownig achievements.
Voter fraud in other states has been proven this way. Even a radio station in Texas was able to obtain voter reg. and DL records under the Freedom of Information Act and prove massive voter fraud by illegal immigrant. Under the FOIA, the Republican Party of NM has been requesting this information for years now and Gov. Richardson has been blocking them and it has now gone to the State Supreme Court. If a little radio station in TX can easily get this info from the state of TX, what is our Gov. afraid of? I think we all know the answer to that. http://www.gopnm.com/index.php... |

RPNM Case Update: Richardson Administration Still Allowed to Obstruct Public Access to Driver’s License Records …Even Though the State is Allowed to Sell the Information to Private Companies Albuquerque, NM – In court proceedings yesterday, a judge ruled that the Richardson Administration can continue to obstruct the public’s access to public information records. In July 2006, the NM GOP requested a list of the names and addresses of all foreign nationals who have received a state-issued driver’s license, which, according to statements from the Department of Taxation and Revenue, numbers approximately 45,000 (Associated Press, 11/17/07). Despite the fact that the Richardson Administration is allowed to sell the driver’s license information to a number of outside groups, such as marketing companies, automobile companies, private investigators, towing companies, and data collection agencies that sell the information, access to the public has been denied by the Richardson Administration, with the Dept. of Taxation and Revenue initially sending the Republican Party hundreds of pages of completely redacted information – a slap in the face for sure.(Albuquerque Journal, 9/16/07) “The right to vote and the right to have all honest votes counted, and not diluted by fraudulent votes, are basic rights and serve as the basic foundation of our system. The NM GOP would simply like to see whether the issuing of driver’s licenses to foreign nationals has led to non-citizens registering to vote or casting a ballot in our election system,” remarked Adam Feldman, NM GOP Executive Director.“That is not an unreasonable request, and it is outrageous that the state will openly sell this type of information to outside organizations, but conceal it from members of the public.” The State Republican Party plans to appeal the court ruling; abandoning the effort at this point would embolden the Richardson Administration to continue withholding public documents from New Mexico citizens that may point to broader problems. “What does the Richardson Administration have to hide?” continued Feldman.“When it is reported that there are approximately 45,000 foreign nationals who have received driver’s licenses in New Mexico, the people have the right to know whether any of these people are fraudulently voting in our elections.” Earlier this year, a radio station in Bexar County, Texas, found that more than 300 illegal immigrants had registered to vote and at least 41 had actually cast ballots illegally. “The governor is boasting loudly about his efforts to give driver’s licenses to foreign nationals; he should be immediately and seriously concerned, therefore, if the policy has contributed to illegal registration and voting,” Feldman concluded.“Instead, the state is doing everything in its power to prevent the public from knowing whether its election system has been compromised. The politics of granting driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants – on which Richardson is to the left of even Hillary Clinton – is more important to him and his political ambitions than a secure election system or transparent state government.” 11/28/07 |
