Hmmmmmmm Indiana House backs drug tests of welfare recipients

House Bill 1483, which passed the Indiana House 78-17 Monday, is part of a “”Growing Movement Among States”” trying to ensure that those who receive tax dollars because they are poor do not spend welfare money on illegal drugs.

New Mexico needs to do the very same thing, stop welfare gamers ripping off taxpayers !

Sorry...

On the surface this sounds like a great idea. But the fact is, this would be a waste of money!!

I have worked at a probation office. And the bottom line is, unless these drug screens are observed - you are wasting your time.

I'm sure the government, will do drug screens like they do in the military, or for empolyment purposes! This is a waste of time.

Just "google" - How to beat a drug test.... Drugies know about these company's that make millions on these devices that look real, hold urine, and even keep it at body tempature. It is this "clean" urine that will be tested.

SO Carlsbad Resident is supportive of creating more government, more spending and more class warfare.
This is not "drug testing". It's marijuana testing. Meth, Acid, heroin and a host of other drugs don't register in tests after 2-3 days. Marijuana can last up to a week from a single use. And here's a big question for everyone. How do you discern the "partiers" from legal patients without compromising privacy and HIPAA rights? Statutes like the one in Ninny-anna are being tossed out as unconstitutional, unenforceable and impractical. The only way around this stupid drug testing for welfare idea is for marijuana to be legalized nationally.
Why don't you direct your attention and concern to something that might actually BENEFIT people?

nope...legallizing it is not the way to stop it....it will only let mf like you use it without repercussions...still pick up your welfare check....but the companies dont have to legalize anything....they can still dump you for using it....even if it was legal....medical marijuana is still marijuana ....it still is not good for you and all it does is stop the symptoms of some medical problems....which is not a good excuse to endanger the highways and public in general....

Thanks gayguy, but the ignorant, ill-informed likes of Ellvis doesn't require protection. It requires little more than knowing more than he/she does...and most everyone does.

Hey Ellfart! "MF's" like me ALREADY use it without any BS at all from "MF's" like you. And my welfare check is deposited via direct transfer you ignorant redneck bigot. Tell us genius, how would you "MF's" make a testing system work without it being invasive, costly, ineffective, foolproof and beneficial? The answer is you can't tell us because it's impossible to do.
I'll give you the facts you stated about companies, firing you and that medical marijuana is still marijuana. That's where you again spin off the rails again with boneheaded statements such as "it is still not good for you" and "all it does is stop the symptoms of some medical problems".

Illuminate the thousands of medical professionals, researchers, patients and caregivers on just how cannabis is bad fo you. Please. Tell us.
And that "stopping the symptoms" crap you're spouting is useless, ignorant and just plain wrong.
Finally, marijuana is FAR less of a danger in driving than texting, brushing your hair, eating your McDouble or tuning the radio. It's even been shown to be far less dangerous than alcohol, which I assume is your particular "medication".

As far as a danger to the general public goes, attitudes and misinformation like yours is a much more serious danger to the general public than ANY cannabis user. Legal medical user OR underground recreational user.

Maybe you should just be quiet and let us all wonder if you're an idiot instead of opening your mouth and removing all doubt.

do you think prohibition of alcohol worked in the 20s I think not the real gamers are the gangs and they would lose bigtime if it were legalized Im finding it amusing that a lot of greedy corporations and people the likes of Willy Nelson are in preparation to commercialize it hopefully in my lifetime smoking pot keeps the prison industry humming and ruins young lives because a person say 20 years old is arrested for pot smoking , that could be your son or daughter

listen up deadbeats....I had my ex son in law tell me that he doesn't do hard drugs just pot ....but that was over 3 years ago and he still won't go find a job and progressed to doing all kinds of dope and lost his wife and kids and some day will get busted for trafficking or stealing and breaking into cars so since this is the parlor pot smokers instead of the exception why would working people want to keep supporting Losers like Mota boy and his worthless buddies
