We were so blessed to have him in Capitan. His tenure was short but a breath of fresh air. We have again lost our way but we now have a fond memory of what can be if good people are in control and we will fight our way back. There are people who fell on the wrong side of the law who also liked Bird because they had been raised to know right from wrong and in some way appreciated his honesty. Even some bad people respect integrity.

God Speed BIG BIRD! You were a good man and a blessing to Lincoln County and Capitan. It was a pleasure to work with you. You will be greatly missed by your law enforcement family and all the lives you touched throughout the years.
You are right...Big bird is in heaven along with Pat Garrett, Billy the Kid, John Tunstel and all the other western outlaws that roamed the Lincoln County area causing destruction and meyhem. Are you planning any Big Bird Days to replace the Billy the Kid Days? What a joke! Look into what is true and stop the BS. Look into the Calrsbad Current Argus and look for the article that states that if Robert Bird is elected Sheriff of Eddy County in 1998, they would have to move his office into the My Way saloon (now called Post Time Saloon). I read a statement where Bird was compared to John Wayne. Are you kidding? John Wayne was a man of character and true grit. The only thing Bird is a characrter of is True sh*t. Please don't insult the memories of John Wayne as he and Bird are nothing alike. The funeral procession that Bird had was a joke. I wonder how many people the family had to pay off to show up for the funeral? Not even presidents recieve that kind of funeral. It's all a scam folks. Chunky Click donated his glass horse drawn carriage to Bird's funeral, even though they both hated each other, just to play on sympathies for the next running of sheriff office.

So you came here to badmouth a dead man - do you know what a heel is? Look into the mirror and you'll see one. When you have something to clear up with Chief Bird - address to his family and see if you can settle your case but posting this crap here is very obvious.

To your information the current Chief doesn't look any better no matter how much dirt you sling at Robert Bird.

I was in shock when I read this post. I am from Georgia and met Big Bird many years ago. We dated and I had so much respect for him. I am so sorry for the loss of your family. I knew him very well, we laughed, we cried and we shared a certain bond that has lasted in my heart for over 15 years now. I just lost my mom this year. You will never get over this, but you will get through it.

Daily Horoscope for December 5

Virgo

Home is where your heart is, so stay there today if you can. Surround yourself with your loved ones, even if you're all slumped on the sofa in front of the TV. If you love cooking, you'll get sweet satisfaction from shutting yourself in the kitchen, and either producing a delicious meal or creating some Christmas food that can live in the freezer till you need it.
