Regardless what the true story is, now that it's changed, criminals need to be in the know. If you rob, rape or kill you will be shot shot shot. Defend America, Defend Freedom, your family is depending on you.

If one defends the castle, the home, the property and the family, after the forensic investigation, the fire arm should be returned and the American should be sent home.

Remember, American is white, brown, black, yellow and red. We're all in this together and we must defend our self's. If your family isn't safe, neither is mine.

Police, however, believe the incident stemmed when two men who may have been involved in an altercation in an nearby apartment complex ran from the apartment and then hid on the roof of the woman's home.

Only in North Long Beach...

As long as corruption still rules Long Beach, why not just pay Tom Dean to fire up that bulldozer of his and flatten North Long Beach.

North Long Beach is about as sleazy as the trashy people that go to Legends on 2nd street.

I understand that we must protect the family at any cost, but to take someone's life, that's where I draw the line. I know some of you are probably celebrating with bangs & banners, but to kill someone, that's different. Why couldn't he/she shoot the person on the foot, why kill?

Yeah. Why not just shoot em in the pinkie? Or shoot his earlobe off. How about shooting his shoe laces so they'd get tangled up and trip em?

On the bright side, he won't be doing this again. Life is not, as they say, a rehearsal.

You go girl.

I agree with LB Tim, we must defend ourselves and let the bad guy know that we will!!

@NativeAmerican, I agree with you to a certain extent, and I'm sure she feels bad for killing him , but would the bad guy have remorse for killing her and her husband? Probably not, but obviously she wasn't going to take that gamble.

Have you ever tried to shoot someone in the foot?

I agree that shooting someone should be the last resort. That is why we have police officers, and that is why they have OC spray, batons and tasers- so that the use of deadly force is always a last resort.

Unfortunately, most of the time, people can not wait 10-15 minutes for the police to show up. It is illegal for a civilian to own the same OC spray, batons and tasers police have without special (read: expensive) permits.

In these situations, where the defense of innocent lives (NOT property- at least in CA) is at stake, one must be prepared to use a firearm as it was intended, exercising cool under pressure, and putting 2 rounds in the X ring.

If you're not mentally or physically capable of doing that, you really shouldn't have a gun for home-defense purposes. Please wait 10-15 minutes for the police to show up.

Looks like these two miscreants were on their way off the property when the owners confronted them. I wonder what would have happened if the owners had waited literally just 10-15 more seconds before exiting their home. I bet the guys would have been long gone. This kind of makes the whole "home defense" argument a little less tenable, doesn't it?

His body was found on the sidewalk... sounds like he had possibly left her property before being shot.

You're right! I'm sure nobody has ever moved from the place they've been shot and died somewhere else. Stop watching so many movies and come back to reality.

And had it been a women fleeing a man that was beating her up at that same apt complex, and was hiding from him on the roof, then what?

Just asking.

Give that woman a reward for helping take out the trash. they had not right to be on private property much less confront the owner. GREAT JOB

To all you who have no idea what the real deal is. Yes its a tragedy for one to die this way but had this thug been doing right he would still be alive today. I am sure this thug did more than what the media is saying and especially those ghetto fabulous idiots that had the nerve to speak with the reporters. They still look like they are living in slavery times. They just wanted 2 minutes of fame looking like a fool. Ignorance will get you no where in life.

The reporters said the two other thugs dragged the thug down the street.

For sure I agree with you . Sad to see things like this happen but it sounds like these thugs were out doing things they should not have. Why the hell was a 25yr old out at 8:00 or whatever time of night on someones roof??? Like the reporter said they just came from another altercation where an assualt had taken place. Who knows how they will react unless they are in this situation. Obviously the woman feared for her life!

If I were in power I'd have the woman arrested and interrogated as to why she failed to shoot the other thug(s) as well.

I get tired of hearing of how we need to bulldoze North Long Beach. I am a new resident here and although my neigborhood is diverse we are all just hardworking middle class people. Not everyone can afford a 400,000+ house in the better areas of Long Beach. Sure there are problems here but I have heard more stuff going on in Central long Beach and other areas. I for one am glad this woman defended her property. If the perp was leaving then that is one thing. As soon as he turned to confront her he deserved to get shot. I keep firearms in my house in case the worst happens. We should all be pushing for more reasonable CCW issuance in this county. Lee Baca only wants to give them to actors and campaign contributors. If people could queity and resposibly carry a firearm there would be less crime in the city. The police like crime it keeps them in a job.

This deserves to be in jail facing a life sentence!
But my money says she is white, so the same rules do not apply to her.

When will the world wake up???
