I would like to report another salon. Can you give me directions to whom I can make this report to?

More salons should be inspected, fined and/or closed. After seven (7) years of treatment, under a doctors care, I am still fighting a nasty nail fungus.

This is a good start. Now require each manicurist to prominently post her license.

I have gone to the same manicurist for over 15 years. I have NEVER had any infectiosn or issues. If you want a GREAT place - guaranteed clean go to Lakewood Nailson Candlewood by Lakewood Mall!

Women who go to these salons...Clean your own feet! Then get your husbands or boyfriends to massage them for you. Most of these places are infections and health issues just waiting to happen.

They need to check out 'Angel Nails' in Temple City. I got a BAD fungus infection from them. Took me 9 months to get it cleared up so my fingernails look nice again. I did report them to the Better Business Bureau. They checked it out and all they did was make them refund the money I paid for the manicure.
Anyone out there in the San Gabriel Valley, Stay away from 'Angel Nails' at Rosemead Bl. & London Ave. in Temple City.
Very unsanitary conditions and unsterilized instruments!

I do my own for this same reason. I was infected by a nail infection 10 years ago from a salon near where I live. I live alone and am the only one who uses my shower, so I know exactly where it came from, and stayed, an unwelcome guest on 4 of my 10 toe nails. ugh! Took a year of Tea Tree Oil, full strength, on my infected toes before I rid myself of it. It does work, and beats a year of those pills.
Good luck to anyone who has 'the fungi'--

I don't go to these nail salons anymore. Once I was getting acrylics, the damn nail tech filed my nail bed a tad too much with that Dremel drill. Talk about pain!

I also take care of my feet and paint my toenails. My cousin worked a quite a few Salons and saw how lazy most people are when it comes to cleaning footbaths etc.
For great painted toenails, start 30 minutes before bed:
Use a gentle nail polish remover, then lightly push back your cuticles and trim if necessary, while wearing magnifying reading glasses.
Then paint with a good fast drying nail polish.*If you do this 30 minutes before bed, the polish will be completely dry and the nails will not have moisture on them which happens right after a footbath (that can set you up for a mold problem).
In the morning, after your shower, gently push any excess nail polish off with an orange stick or the edge of your fingernail. It will "roll" off fairly easilky with practice.
The result is clean and safe nails that have longer lasting polish.
Pamper your heels before you put on make up or blow dry your hair, and you have just saved a lot of money for more sandals!

Get cuticle remover cream, and a small brush from Dr. Scholl, scrub toenails in the shower. Keeps 'em clean.

I also use a callous remover blade to scrap away hard callouses on the heels. Soak your feet in the hottest water tolerable for 5 or 10 min. Pat dry and use the callous blade to gently slice off that dead skin. Get a good thick cream (or baby oil) to rub into your heels and wear white cotton socks over night. Your heels will look like new. It will stop the cracks. But be careful. Make sure you have good circulation. If you're diabetic, check with your doctor first.
