Close all the east lanes on the 91 on a Friday afternoon, to search for a jewelry store robbery suspect.

Why? Seriously. Why? Does the PD do this just because they can? Is there no one with an ounce of common sense that might have weighed the gross inconvenience that is created for thousands of people, the waste of gas and for what gain? To catch a robbery suspect.

Incredible.

Create a 10 mile perimeter around the area, hard closures of all major streets and freeways coming and going, shut down LAX, establish marshal law and confine all residents to their homes. Do a house by house search and detain anyone that does not have a valid US passport. Require Lindsey Lohan to serve the entire 90 day sentence. Never allow Paris Hilton back into the country. Have Sarah Palin stoned to death at the Coliseum following by an all night Tiesto rave.

Oh big deal. You had to take an extra 45 minutes to get home. It took me an hour to get home from Anaheim Hills (normally a 30 minute Friday drive). Learn to take surface streets if you are in such a hurry.

If someone was killed in the robbery, would your inconvenience be worth it then? You had to sit on your ass for a little longer than normal. BFD.

juuuust an fyi spike.. the city of cerritos doesn't have a PD. it's contracted by the los angeles county sheriff's department. with over 160 years of experience, these people know what they're doing. it's inconvenient, but what if you were the victim? wouldn't you want the sheriff's department to do everything they can?

And when they catch the bad guys, ship 'em off to the Guantanamo prison, or perhaps the Marine Corps!

With in reason, yes, but shutting down a major freeway at a very busy time to look for robbery suspects, def not. Was an employee shot and killed, no. Did the jewelry store have cameras? Shouldn't there be clear pictures of the suspects?

The deputies could have picked out ten citizens at random and announced they would shoot one at the top of every hour until the perps surrendered. Think of the gasoline it would have saved.

If you knew anything its because they had guns. Four people with guns on the lose who are desperate to escape from being caught could be a threat to anyone in there homes and yes on the freeway. They could hide in the bushes then car jack a vehicle on the freeway. Would you want that to happen? NO.
God bless our LASD!!!
