Who the heck wrote this article? The writing style and expression sounds extremely amateurish. A 17 year old high school kid could write better than this.
I guess budget cuts might have forced professional reporters out of this newspaper!

It's not necessary -- and in fact it's confusing -- to use the full names of the "San Gabriel River Freeway" and the "Artesia Freeway." Just refer to them as the 605 and 91 freeways.

The story would benefit from some rewriting and editing.

Sorry, but I get extremely nervous when someone mentions "dollar menu" and "cats" in the same sentence.

A man who runs a meat brokerage in LA once told me, "if you're going to sell two tacos for a dollar, you gotta save money somewhere."

I tell people all the time that SUVs (& vans) aren't safe. You need to drive them much differently than you drive a car.

But they don't listen. They just keep flying down the freeway at 65 mph PLUS!

Factors for the increase in stupid driving:

* Full moon (hence the word lunacy).

* New month (hence the increase in morons driving unfamiliar U-Hauls filled with their worldly possessions instead of the usual lowered Hondas.

* New month (hence the monthly government supported check recipients are rushing to stock the 'fridges with forties whilst listening to the song, "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag").

* Rainy weather (hence the monthly government supported check recipients are swerving around in their lowered Hondas fetching bags and forties WITH BALD TIRES).

* Lack of common sense (hence the accident prone morons shall learn by pain or death that: a) No two objects may occupy the same space at the same time b) Every action has an equal and opposite reaction - AKA: I DRIVE LIKE YOU DO).

Maybe if CHP did some speed limit enforcement, which they dont, these accidents could be avoided. That section of the freeway is like a racetrack every day.

And they are there every day. They can't catch everyone.

People need to take responsibility for their OWN actions. Almost non-existent these days.

How dare we make remarks about stupidity playing a factor!

How dare we expect people to realize there are consequences to their actions!

Peter, you were obviously raised to be a victim. SOME of us were not.

i was connecting to the 605 north from the 91 and saw the crash. it was pretty bad. it's always easier to make fun of others in this situation until it happens to them or to their family members...then it's not so funny. who knows what really happen but eventually we'll find out. the facts are 2 lives are lost and many are injured.

Daily Horoscope for May 19

Gemini

You long to be surrounded by familiar faces and places today, so you'll really feel out of your depth if you're somewhere strange even if you'd usually revel in such a situation. Your idea of heaven right now is to be with family or dear friends, or with one special person, so you can relax and not have to worry about putting on a good show or being entertaining company.
