Every one of these students, if found guilty, should be banned from any further high school sports, any collegiate sports, and should be required to register as sex offenders.

Now "hearings" are taking place. According to KOB, "Jerek J. Padilla pleaded guilty Tuesday as a minor to charges of criminal sexual penetration and conspiracy". One has rolled over on the others. Thats the first step toward getting these pieces of trash locked up. I really hope the rest of these rapists don't get charged as juveniles. Still no word on what is being done about the superintendent who smeared the victims by saying most of the allegations were false or the A.D. who tried to hush it all up. I guess it's true... what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Lets hope their school district administration stays there. I'd hate to see them get jobs somewhere else.

I hope Henry Valdez does his job and cleans up this entire mess! This goes beyond the criminal acts of the students.

The coaching staff had to know what was going on not to mention the superintendent's damaging remarks against the victims. Not only would criminal charges be the thing to do here but a civil suit against the adults should put the final touches on this horrible and most hurtful case!

Is this an old news story? It links to one from Oct. that had many more comments on it than now, are we going to get anymore official updates?

I am glad to hear that one has plead and that the process is moving forward. Slow as it may seem.

Why so harsh. Are you not aware that some of the boys are victims of circumstance? The judicial system "uses" people as pawns and put them in a position to make deperate decisions that would favor the prosecutor for a sure win. Surely a crime had been committed and surely someone needs to pay for their actions but unfortunatly innocent boys are being used with intimidation by the "system" to guarantee a guilty verdict for the prosecution. Wake up public! The system used money and intimidation to win with no concern for the innocent!

In general terms (unfortunately for the good teacher of New Mexico)Your bias thinking inside the box is a fine example of why our education in NM ranks near the botton of the United States of America.

Apparently YOU are the one that is not aware of the nurses testimony that there were signs of penetration on those poor innocent boys. They are the victims NOT the 6 boys that you claim to be the victims of "circumstance". What a joke that is! The reason why these perverts are in court is because last year during a football camp they were holding their victims down and violently shoving a broom handle in them and I can almost guarantee they were laughing the whole time, and you expect me to think "THEY" are the victims YEAH RIGHT! PLEASE EXPLAIN YOURSELF!... These boys raped, sodomized, violated, humil iated, traumatized, not only intimidated, but degraded their victims. You said and I quote "Surely a crime had been committed and surely someone needs to pay for their actions" well who pray tell with all the testimonies do you think should pay for these crimes? How can you say the 6 rapists are innocent when one has already confessed and Thank God is willing to help bring the others down. I don't see him as as rat, I see him as realizing he knows he did wrong and is owning up to it but the others are cowards and still trying to say they're innocent. Justice will prevail and these perverts hopefully will be tries as adults and you probably would think different if it was your son that was a victim of the 6 rapists!
And as for the teacher I don't feel her opinion is bias in any way whatsoever. She probably has seen so many "good hitos" gone to prison and has seen the favoritism that the town shows so it's only her opinion which she is entitled to.

I see this is still an old story and all the original posts/comments are gone. Are there any new updates? To Criminal Injustice: Those "victims of circumstance" as you try plead, they had a choice! They could have walked away, and got help, but they didn't, they participated and are now paying that price. You expect any of us to have sympathy for the rapists? Please, don't insult our intellegence, they had a choice, they CHOSE to participate, sick freaks deserve all they get.

No, they all should get what's coming to them. And they're all children, I know. Victim of circumstance my butt! Read what happened. You'll change your mind.

Sorry for being too general. I understand your anger and rightfully so. No doubt about the rape, I correct myself by saying not all six boys participated (hence; victim of circumstance).

The media has you buying every paper they print...don't they? Would you buy a local newspaper if they did not sensationalize their stories?

Physical and forensic evidence is what it is, it does not chose sides. For this to go to trial, there was plenty of it. No one is making those things up. It is this bad, the papers don't have to make it any worse. I don't understand your statement that they are sensationalizing it.

Havn't bought a paper in decades genius. No,then that would mean I would be living in solitude like Glorieta. Make believing everything around me and all. What happened here is true and will be proof solid. Wait and see Hermit.

Do you know all the sides of the story?
You're in Arizona so all you have to go by is the media. I am in Las Vegas and I am following the story first hand. I know exactly what I am talking about. Next thing you will tell me is that because you have read of unicorns they must be real. By the way, Justice and fairness are just abstract. No such thing...idiot.

Oh I could do that, make up all sorts of truths to myself on this issue, wouldn't make them correct or true. I prefer to believe the physical and forensic evidence. It is what it is, it has no opinion to be jaded. We will have to see what happens in the courts.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Taurus

Someone isn't mucking about today, and if they're annoyed about something they'll come right out with it. This means you could be on the receiving end of some zingers, but equally it means that you'll be giving as good as you get. Now, although it will be very tempting to let off steam by giving someone an earful, aren't there better directions in which to channel your energy?
