Was that razor that an injured man dropped into an opened drain while hanging by the neck recovered? Sounds to me like someone wanted Jason McCoy shut up.

I am Jason's former wife, the mother of 3 of his children. I have been trying to get information from BCC, but they are not cooperative, and very uncompassionate to what's happened. There's No Way that he would of done this! He only had 22 days left, and was making plans for what he was going to do wiht his children, when he got home. |

I am Jason's former wife, the mother of 3 of his children. No, nothing has been found, BCC is not talking! It disappeared somehow, but it wasn't by Jason! Something went terribly wrong that day, I do not believe that he went into that closet alone. |

I am still desperately trying to find answers...I have heard of e-mails going around everywhere, from people who have thoughts or might know something? Of all people, Jason's children deserve the truth! His children are the ones who are hurting the most, they have a right to know what happened to their Dad. Jason was making plans of what he was going to do with his boys when he got home, and he wrote to them, making all these promises of what they were going to do together, that he'd see them in September. Jason would not of hurt his boys this way! He would not of made a promise to see them, go skip rocks together, only to leave them like this! If nothing else mattered, his boys did matter! He couldn't wait to see his boys, he was looking forward to being with them...What happened? I am not going to give up trying to find the truth, because my whole being, in my heart, my gut, Jason didn't did not commit suicide! Something happened, we don't know what, because BCC only cares enough to say, when the investigation is complete, all the answers will be there. Well, they say the investigation is complete, but they have still yet, to show any evidence to back what they are saying, they still have not responded to my questions, still, No Answers! Why?

Madison... Thank you for sending this. Did you work in Corrections in Georgia? What makes you think an officer probably had something to do with what happened? Thank you, Rena McCoy |

I am a corrections officer for the state of missouri, and i must say that the officers that was in charge of the wellbeing of your husband, with almost absolute certianty was not involved in the death of your husband. Corrections today is not what it was 3- or 40 years ago. Officers do not ruff up inmates. There is a much greater demand for rehabilitation instead of retribution for crimes committed. As a officer we encourage inmates to better themselves for the day that they will be back on the streets, because often times they will end up being neighbors with someone that we know. I beleive that there is probably some wrong doing involved but it is not by the officers. Officer report only things that they know as facts and what they observe. Without being there i cannot say what happened. But it is next to impossible to get another inmate to RAT on another inmate without something in return. If the state is unwilling to give something for someone to talk, no one will talk. I am sorry for you and your familys lose. Not all inmates are bad people. Good luck on your search for the truth, be persistant and find a good attorney. If you keep at them long enough someone will talk. Good luck and God Bless

I thank you, for what you are saying. You're a corrections officer, in Missouri? I wasn't there, so do not know what exactly happened either, but I do know that he was making plans for what he was going to do when he got home. He only had 22 days left, before getting released to come home. Isn't it a fact, that the Law, is to treat a scene such as this one, as a homicide, until there's proof that it was a suicide? Well, that isn't what happened in our situation! From the very day it happened, all they have said is he committed suicide. It was already in the papers by the 15th, saying where he was found and it had been ruled a suicide. What is wrong with this picture? No weapon had been found, the "investigation" was not complete, all reports were not complete. So, exactly how does a Correctional Facility get away with just saying it was a suicide, but yet NOTHING was complete? Those are the things that I do not understand! They just want to wash their hands of it, it was a suicide and that's it! No, that's not it! Jason had a family, he has children who love's their Dad, but yet have their feelings even been taken into consideration? No they haven't. BCC has shown no compassion, no nothing! Basically the way it's been done, is well he committed suicide, we don't know what happened, but that's just it! No condolences to his children who are now left without their Dad, who messed up in life one time! I'm not making excuses, but that's the way it happened. Jason for some reason, took a wrong turn somewhere, and went down the wrong path, it took being incarcarated to make him realize that he needed Help. His mind was clear, free of drugs, and he was better, a better person for going through what he'd gone through. Jason was coming home, to make things right, right with his family, his boys. Before he went down the wrong path, Jason was a good man, his family was his first priority, he was a hard worker! I could go on and on...But my point is that Jason messed up in life ONE time, he didn't get a 2nd chance to make it right! Why? We don't know, because someone doesn't see it as important, after all, he was just a # to them! Still no answers! Of all people, his boys have the right to know what happened to their Dad! Thank you, for your caring thoughts... Rena McCoy |

RENA get a lawyer and i would get an interview with the local tv station KQ2. cause u need to get the truth out there like the case was not complete and nothing was found to prove it was a suicide. clear his name of that and then the other will fall in place and answers will start to come out. You have to stay on the states dont give up, hassle, hassle, hassle, them like there is no tomorrow. GOOD LUCK. You and your children and jason have my prayers and sympathy. P.S. was he related to Bill McCoy who works at OREILLYS? |

I wish this woman would let us know if she has found out anything about what actually happened to the father of her kid's. I seriously doubt this was a suicide!

Rena, this is Sherry Worley, Robert's little sister,(Robert was Jason's stepfather for over 20 years) i wish i could have come down to missouri for jason's funeral, but i look at his obituary almost always and still can't believe it, linda still stays with mandy and tammy, but cannot get through the day on her own, as everyone on this forum has stated, i know you can't afford an attorney, but if everyone tries to chip in a little here and there, maybe we can come up with something, stop at nothing to get an attorney. We all know what happened, he was so upbeat on getting out, and i feel that the dept. of corrections should step in whether they want to get involved or not, they should conduct a full investigation instead of automatically calling it a suicide because "they" say it is, when they know it's NOT, and any medical examiner, who is actually doing is job vindicating the victim whether he was an inmate or not, should tell what forensics show, they know damn well that Jason didn't do it, a true cover up by our judicial system. Email me anytime you want if you get this message at sherrywine50273@hotmail.com, and to all of you who spoke wonderful words to Rena, God Bless you all.

Wow, it's been awhile since Rena has posted on here. I find it hard to beleive that this man killed himself. Something was going on in that prison! I'll bet someone killed him, and made it look like a suicide!
EcB3 you can tell us till your blue in the face that all corrections officers are good people, but I don't buy it. I'v heard about curruption going on in prisons, and situations involving drugs with corrections officers right in the middle of it all. Some officers take their authority way too far! I wish Rena would let us know if she can what if anything has been found out. I'm sure there are alot of readers who also have family member's in BCC, and would also like to know. God bless Jason's family, and may he help you find the answers you are looking for! |

I can tell you that making plans, even important ones, is not an unusual thing for a suicidal person. A very good friend killed himself.
He had just received a promotion and a big pay increase. At the time he was a delivery driver for a bread company and had been promoted to the marketing department. Instead of having to be at work at 5:00 AM 6 days a week he would have an 8 to 5 job 5 days a week plus benefits. He seemed to be very happy and excited. The last day at his old job everybody was glad handing him and offering congratulations. That evening he committed suicide. I sincerely hope Rena and the children can get on with life and prosper. |
