This is what you can expect when Team Maobama takes over health care in this country.

Lines of people....hundreds or thousands of people long waiting for their precious vaccines the government deems you need.

All of you people who think it will be anything less than this are delusional and insane.

This is precisely what you can expect.

richinrio,

You expect things are better under the current system?
There is a shortage of H1N1 vaccine. Those who are choosing to wait for their private doctors to get vaccine may be waiting longer (as I am).

I see no relationship between the H1N1 story and your fantasies about how things will be once more people have health insurance.

This is what is happening under what will one day be the old system. Has nothing more to do with it than it will under a new system.
This is the result of poor planning including but not limited to the selection of the distribution location.

Excuse me, but what is happening here has no particular relationship to the future of healthcare in the US. An unusually deadly strain of flu arose and we have a vaccine shortage caused by the rapid spread of the disease compared to the slow development and manufacturing process of the vaccine. Do you want a vaccine from China? We could probably get it, but would you trust it? I understand that there may be new and faster ways to make vaccines, but apparently these methods are not yet available in the US. I think that is the point on which to focus.

Inquiring minds want to know - if the county received 31,000 vaccines and they gave out 1,000 at the clinic in Santa Cruz last week and 1,500 in Watsonville today - where the h**l is the rest of it?

By the way, Sentinel, if there were 1,500 vaccines and the clinic ran out by 1:00, then there must have been more than 1,500 people that were lined up. But you're right, I guess that is more than 1,000.

I have a health condition that puts me at risk, so got my shot at today's clinic. It could not have been better organized and coordinated. The line moved swiftly, which helped the many small restless children maintain their composure. Thanks to all of the folks from County Public Health and the Red Cross working today. You did a great job.

Sorry folks. Us white folks went to Watsonville today and stood in line with all kinds of other nice folks to get the H1N1 flu shots. Some were very young, some elderly, some pregnant, some disabled. Everyone was a human being. I only identified myself as white to let you know that you have to make the effort to get up and get out and get the shot. It is not going to come to you. Everyone stood in line for hours just the same as me and my husband. I think they have found they can give out more shots by doing these one day clinics than giving them to the doctors offices. Don't know if that is better or not. You have to make the decision if you want to stand in line or not.

BTW - Not everyone got a shot today. They only gave them to certain people. You know the requirements. My husband only met the requirements & I knew that I would not but I stood in line with him as he has several medical conditions. I did see them turn folks away.

Oh my god people its the flu for goodness sake. People get it every year and die from it every year. This is the medias way of projecting fear on a society that is already fearful. Maybe they should issue "chill pills" so we could all chill out. Not to mention a vaccine that was developed a little to fast. I wouldn't be surprised if the vaccine they develop kills more in the long run than this flu does.

My five year old son and drove down from Santa Cruz today and stood in line for three hours to get vaccinated. He received his second dose of the nasal spray and my asthma qualified me for the flu shot. The only person to die in the county from H1N1 was a 52 year woman with asthma. The whole process was very civil and the lines moved at a reasonable pace. The county public health department did a great job and the weather was beautiful.

The H1N1 vaccine is made using the same process that is used for the seasonal flu vaccine which unfortunately takes a long time. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/05/health/05fl...

The county is out of seasonal and H1N1 vaccine but you can check their web site to see when they receive more vaccine at: http://www.santacruzhealth.org/alerts/index.h... . When they have vaccine, you should be able to go to the Emeline or Watsonville clinic M-F to get vaccinated.

No problem. Would you also like me to let you know how many people I spared from contracting H1N1 from me? All of the small children in the grocery store?...the people in my workplace or yours who won't need to miss work or bring my virus home to their family?... Do you also want to know about the hospital bed that will be available for someone else with ANY medical problem because I wasn't in it? This is bigger than me. It's about all of us. I'll do my best to keep from infecting you with H1N1. Maybe you could reciprocate with keeping your cynicism to yourself.

Open your eyes and you'll be able to invision the future health care situation under Obama's Health care system. Maybe he should have stayed home and been more concerned about the amount of vaccine for his country's people instead of traveling around the world trying to be Mr.World.
The liberals can't see the ocean because of the water and they'll never see the tidal wave of distruction that Obama will bring this country because all they'll see is the water until it's too late.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Cancer

Mercury turning retro is offering you the chance to make sweeping and long-lasting changes to your life, and to clear the ground for some fertile growth in 2010. Lawyers and legal matters, debates, contract negotiations, partnership or other alliances, and joint ventures of any kind need attention. As a Cancerian you don't like endings, but you must now bring an end to any situation or relationship that is holding you back or has passed its sell-by date. Look forward, not back, if you want a glittering future.
