The kid should have thought first before he threw a punch. He is responsible for the other guys death. No way to sugar coat this. One punch and bam the guy hits his head and now is dead. Jason will have a lot of time to re- think this one. IMO he is a violent person cause he should have walk away instead of using violence.

If he's being charged with manslaughter, how does it become a homicide? It seems to me this was clearly accidental. In these times, as the entire county has paid witness, homicides are generally with intent to kill, and with weapons.

Take the time to crack open the Calif. Penal Code. Look up all the sections applicable to Assault and Battery, involuntary and voluntary mansalaughter, homicide and intent! The DA will decide what the appropriate charges should be based on the reports, witnesses follow-up and the Penal Code!

SOOO I guess if this was your son who got killed it would not have been a homicide huh... well duh a person was killed over a dumb reason. So if one of your loved one is accidentally killed we should let go of the person who killed him because it was just an accident. DAM YOU MUST BE THAT S....T...U...P...I...D...!!!!! WAKE UP AND SMELL THE FRESH GUN POWDER.....!!!

Do not involve the police in a domestic situation unless absolutely necessary.

I think it's ridiculous that it's being played down as "nothing big". I know both parties involved, and the fight wasnt over "nothing". Perhaps people should be punished for their actions. Yes, it was an unfortunate accident, however, someone had died. Would the aggresors family feel the same had the tables been turned. If he gets off, like his friends/family is boasting he will, it will be a mockery of the justice system.

Mexican families in Watsonville need to stand together and support one another. Create things for your children to do other than enter gangs. This isn't a racial thing, it's a cultural thing. You need to be good parents and help this from happening again.

This LOMELI has relatives that work at Santa Cruz Sheriffs Office. So, we will see if there really is a fair outcome. THE FACTS ARE: Lomeli's action caused someone to die & He has prior incidents with violence (ask his gf)

I hope Lomeli's girlfriend sees that someone tried to HELP her and that person ended up DEAD!

A sad situation

Jason Lomeli-

Violence
It is unfortunate to see Jason Lomeli deteriorate through out his teenage years. Jason Lomeli is a man that always rose altercations, and made them into fist fights. I have seen this man get into fist fights with his own brothers. I have seen this man argue with his mother at athletic events.

Missed Opportunity
It is sad, a man blessed with incredible athletic abilities decided not to continue participate in sports. The man was as talented in football as his younger brother.

Family
I wonder how his uncle feels about this situation? Does anyone know who this man is related to?

However, this comment is about the situation, and not the man's family or missed opportunities. The man committed involuntary manslaughter. The man had the INTENT to seriously cause harm, but not kill. However, the man's negligence caused the death of a young man.

Also-It is absurd the comments the {some}people on the boards make without knowing the people in the different articles.

Daily Horoscope for January 2

Taurus

It's important that you keep that famous bull-headedness in check over the next couple of weeks. Be cool, calm and sensible and you'll find that you end up with things correctly and tidily done. Stick to the straight and narrow, no matter what the distractions or irritations around you. If you think outside the square, you'll begin to see how visualisation can change and shape your life. Trust your hunches and be ready to move on them.
