Has anyone noticed the smell of natural gas when you round the corner from Tenbrook Industrial to Tenbrook Rd.? Did the hum start just recently?

Any heavy duty power lines close by, they also make a loud humming noise.

Bvarg ...No power lines close by...just a big industrial court about a mile away...I guess that's the source..In the last year we lost a lot of trees because of construction.

Doris....the natural gas smell or emissions has been going on intermittentlly for several years. I personally have called Arnold Police Dept to report the gas emissions that have been occurring off and on usually in the evening time at least three to foor times in the last two years. But I quit since it seems to continue and obviously not taken to be a serious situation. Dont thow out a cig when passing the valves shed there by the bend.

You call the Police for a gas smell? Do you ever look at your Laclede bill? It clearly states to call them. Maybe that's why you can't get anything done.

Why do you go out of your way to attack someone who tried to do a good deed? What's next on your to-do list? Yell at Boy Scouts helping people across the street?

I personally don't have have Laclede Gas on speed dial. If I smelled gas I wouldn't take the time to drive home, pull out my gas bill from my filing cabinet, read the instructions, then call. I'd call the cops, let them decide if it's an emergency, and have them do what they're trained to do as first responders. If they decide to, oh, say evacuate people while waiting for Laclede Gas to show up, that would be a good thing.

I didn't go out of my way and I didn't attack. You seem to be vent on attacking the police for something they have no control over.

All you need to do is call Laclede. They have the equipment to handle it. The police don't. If the police are not responding like you would like and you truly feel it is a danger then I would recommend you call the correct person to handle the job.

It's also common sense.

The natural gas smell that you get every once in a while could be from the fenced facility (appears to be a generator, I've seen Ameren trucks there before), they have a LP supply, if the tank builds up too much pressure, it would release gas. Natural gas leaks *can* be dangerous, but only when they are continuous, in a still environment, where it's allowed to build up. A vent outside isn't going to present that situation.

As for the low hum, contact public works, put in a nuisance complaint. They should follow up and figure out where it's coming from, and how to rectify it.

The shed you are talking about is a oderant station, which gives natural gas the smell everone nows, not a gas leak. The low hum is,my guess comming from the can plant MCC
