No, I said that about the people who were talking all big and bad about going to the board meeting to get things done; they did nothing. I was at the board meeting. Were you? Please read what I say more carefully. I'm not sure what the solution is, but going on and on and on does no good. What has been accomplished here? So everyone knows about Dr. Brown's personal life.
Bottom line is the students. Are the students performing well? Yes they are. MAP and EOC scores are high. Fox High School has the only National Merit Finalist in Jefferson Co. who will most probably be a National Merit Scholar, which is a HUGE accomplishment, and he does credit his school for helping with that. I know him personally. ACT scores at both schools are above state average. I believe that the teachers have done the bulk of the work for these accomplishments, but if she is such a bad leader, then they couldn't do their jobs.
What is it that you want? Do you want her fired? Then call a board member. Write letters to the school board. I keep telling myself I WON'T read this forum again, but it's like staring at a wreck on the side of the road. I don't want to look, but I can't help myself.:) I'm really going to try to not come back here.
Again, the people that are soo upset on here don't show their faces because they are afraid of losing their jobs!!!
You don't seem to be hearing me and everyone else. In one ear and out the other. I do agree that something needs to be done, everyone needs to band together before it happens though.
About calling a board member, several have tried. Dr. Brown has repeatedly stated that the board is not interested in hearing their concerns. Whether or not they really said that, I don't know for sure. I do know that I can no longer find any information (names, numbers, pictures) of the current school board members or administration on the new Fox website. Maybe its just a fluke or they just haven't gotten around to it yet, but it seems ironic.
Nobody would really care if it was just about Dr. Brown's personal life. What we care about is that she is 1)hiring unqualified people, 2)hiring unfit people - one that it seems she is having an affair with, and 3)that the only people to be hired at Fox lately are people who are related to her. I am not saying that everyone related to her is unqualified. I AM saying that she is clearly discriminating against everyone else. I do believe that if she hires a family member that she is supposed to quit her job - according to the rules (if they mean anything at all to you).
And I think it is worse than staring at a wreck. I think it is more like staring at a man that has a DWI on his record as he is watching over and guiding all of our troubled students in the district.

Incorrect. There was one post by Mr. Vinson on page 1. You can tell because it was quoted on that same page in post 13 by "not good".

Go five yards in the arena! I am not covering for anyone. I went through the posts one by one and they were all there when I made the post. Posts have sequential numbers on them. I will agree they are not there now, but all the numbered posts were there. I am quite sure that Mr. Vinson did NOT have his posts taken down. You see, that is a pattern on here, "certain" people have things deleted that either they don't like or that they think the removal will make it appear that someone other than they are playing the "delete" game. I have copies of all posts and will keep them for future reference. By the way, I agree with the posts above about the hellions at Walgreen's and the Bridges program, real fine examples of Character, along with the stellar students all smoking on the corner in full view of administration and DARE officers....

I was at the grocery store this afternoon and overheard two people talking across the aisle as they were waiting to be checked out. A lot of talk regarding the incompetence of the school board and the administration. Well I couldn't help but to overhear what they were talking about and had to ask. They mentioned this web site, so I just had to take a look. I am SHOCKED to learn about all the riff-raff that is going on. All those involved should be embarrased and ashamed of themselves for either participating or allowing all these events to take place. Awful just awful.

Most school districts operate an alternative high school. They are a product of the "No Child Left Behind" legislation. Schools receive funding based on test scores and graduation rates. So anyone who voted for W and are pissed about Bridges, you have noone to blame but yourself.

There are only three groups of people who have any good to say about the ruling administration at Fox C-6 school district, they are the Board of Trustees, the superintendents, and those who do not work there. The rest of us know better!

No Child Left Behind Act has great things and some not so great. Seems the not so great is in how the district interprets the law and guidelines and chooses to implement based on said interpretation. Either way, some of it is very, very clear. Also, it is not "W", the NCLB Act was a bipartisan effort. The late Ted Kennedy was behind it full force. Let's not make this about Bush haters vs non Bush haters.
Who here wants to see change? Then get out and VOTE for new people this coming election! Don't want change? Then get out and VOTE this coming election for the status quo old boys and girls' club!

I think in today's economy and such I'd be happy to have a job. Quit bitching about what you haven't got and be glad a check is coming in. Some of you ingrates need to learn about appreciation and quit bashing your higher ups. No wonder why your not giving your names. I wouldn't want my kid in your class on a daily basis.

the talk of "law suits" is ridiculous. Evidently, no legal eagles here. Let's talk about solutions and what we want to see. I know it is easier and more fun to gossip but we need to focus on what we can do to get changes made. Talking crap about some alternative school students and gossiping about them is petty. Discussing Dr. Brown's family is stupid. Let's talk about what the problem is and what ideas we have for fixing it. We'll all be happier and better for it.

Actually, MAP scores are not great. The district has not met goals on the Math and Comm Arts sections of the standardized test for two years running I believe. I am not sure what it takes for a school district to lose accreditation but this one is in jeopardy if it does not start paying more attention to teaching academics to all students in a way that they can learn and less time with this nonsense.
Affairs, office politics and game playing is stupid and teaches nothing about succeeding and being productive and creative in a fulfilling life.

The district needs to quit putting so much pressure on educators and threatening salaries and jobs with map scores-this opens up to the students getting a lot of abuse and pressure and some being left out.

how about getting someone in there who cares about the students learning?! wow. what an idea, huh?
Right now the rest of the state looks at us like a bunch of crooked unintelligent rednecks.

Dear Hmmmm, while I agree that there are too many ingrates, we all have a right to complain about "higher ups" if we have serious questions about their performances or professionalism.

I agree some of the gossip has gotten out of hand and I empathize with Dr. Brown and others on that aspect. However, I see a lot of room for progress in this district and I hope to see some changes in the coming years.

Here's a solution, start all over by electing a new board when it comes time.

A Board of Trustees does not govern properly when it has any conflict of interest. The board at Fox is integrated into the district so deeply that it can't make an honest, un-biased decision. Many, if not all, of the board have family members that are high ranking employees at the school district.

It is not uncommon for a board member to take on a full time position of authority in the school district after leaving the board. So is it any wonder that they are a rubber stamp for whatever current superintendent is in office?

Of course, getting people to run who do not personally benefit might prove to be a challenge. But we are the ones who vote the board into power. How about we elect a group who will actually put the interest of the students first!

I won't give my name cause I'm a well liked employee of the district for the past twelve years. I only made my comment because I grew up in a house where I learned loyalty and commitment to my employer. Believe you me moving from private industry to education was the best move I ever made but it annoys me there's people on here who claim to be teachers in the district that show none of these attributes. My father always told me to be loyal to who signs my checks because when grandpappy went through the depression the ink ran dry for the disloyal guy.

Oh. My husband just looked over my shoulder and said the fellow attacking the super and the coach has/had a father who worked in the district for many years. Apparently a disgruntled guy by most peoples standards. Said his dad was a war vet. What the hell went wrong. Lol.

Loyalty and commitment are not in question here.

For me personally I consider the taxpayer my employee, and if they knew a tenth of what went on at a school district they'd be horrified at how their money was spent.

My father taught me to be loyal to the truth, so I will.

Although it is true that Brown's personal life is talked about here, the misconduct goes way beyond that. Her personal,(and some of it has been very public), life is a manifestation of bigger problems. Take a look at the very first act in the Fox Follies 2010. "It's raining men"!?! If you were not embarressed by that as a Fox employee then you didn't see it.

There are plenty of households in the world where abuse is leveled onto a child while siblings receive no such treatment. Does that mean the abused child does not deserve to be heard? Maybe they are just digruntled?

There is an abuse of power at the district that was probably a perfect storm waiting to happen. When you start with a Board that rubber stamps Brown's decisions, have underlings that are hand picked, many of them family or friends, and rule the employes with fear and anger then how could corruption not happen? It is a form of absolute power, and we all know what that produces.

Whistle blowers are always met with an initial wave of namecallers and doubters. That will not detour me.

I choose to stand by those who have been abused by this administration. Sadly many of them are fired or have quit.

Alright I'm going to throw some fuel on the fire.

Some months ago there was an employee at the central office that was fired for embezzeling. She was stealing money and got caught. How much did she steal? I don't know but I know it's in the thousands.

Probably no one knows the amount of money she stole or for how long she stole it. Everybody knows about it but everyone was petrified to utter a word about it. Not even a whisper.

To my knowledge there was never an arrest made or even a police report filled out. Why is that?

They never did actually catch her in the act, they told her she was caught on camera, and she confessed. She was not caught on camera!

Everything I just wrote is true and can be verified by anyone with half an ounce of investigative ability.

What I do not understand is why there was never anything done about this. Or why I had to be so paranoid about talking about it. She broke the law for goodness sake, it's simple. I do have my guesses though.

Firstly this was happening in the central office, right under the very noses of those who are supposed to have the oversight. Who's job was it to make sure that the deposits were not being stolen? I can see how that might embarress the administration. But just because I left my keys in my running car does not mean I don't report it stolen, embarressed by my stupidity or not.

Secondly,(and I believe this is the real reason),do you remember the camera they said she was caught on? That camera was pointed down the stairwell of the Bridges program. They must of thought some delinquet bridges kid was stealing the money. Wasn't true of course. But what it did record was the good Dr's boyfriend,(who ran Bridges), coming up and down those stairs to see her.

Now this I can not prove happened. The camera has since been repositioned and any evidence is tossed. But this is not some rumor or fabrication. The people that are in charge at Fox abuse the power they have.

Eventually someone who has nothing to lose, maybe a reporter, will fair these things out.

I welcome any of the superintendents to challenge this story, or to correct any part of it. They can even sign their name.
