Don't they know the U.S. Mail Box referred to is the large receptacle, not the individual mailboxes in front of homes? If that were the case NO ONE would be able to park in front of their homes in most of Arnold. I guess they are looking to make some more cash to spend. A little overzealous? Maybe someone should stand in the parking lot and tell people to contest the scamera tickets and clear the parking lot.

There is no Arnold ordinance that prohibits parking near mailboxes. There is no federal law that pertains to mailboxes. If someone is parked in front of your mailbox at mail delivery time the postal employee has the option of not delivering your mail if the box is blocked. What ordinance is on the citation?

This is a county thing and apparently So Co has somethin similar but theirs states that it is only during postal delivery hours.

I believe they said it was in the city of Arnold not Jefferson county. This is just another money maker for the city of Arnold.

They can't collect on the RLC tickets so they have to get the money to pay ATS from somewhere.

Federal law does not prohibit parkin in front of a mail box, but should not be blocked during mail delivery. The City of Arnold has NO LAW restricting said parkin as well. If there are no sign posting "NO Parking" or the curb is not painted to indicate no parking, then it is absolutely ok to park there. Fight the Tickets.

If there is an ordinance on the books for this, not knowing it is no excuse. It is not the city or police departments responsibility to inform every citizen of every law, it is the citizens responsibility to know the laws him/herself. Secondly, police officers don't typically go out looking to write parking violations, they're usually told to, I.e. Complaining citizen calls, and supervisor sends officer to write tickets. Just one example. And last, if there is no law for this, someone has some explaining to do.

If there are no signs posted "NO PARKING" or curb painted to reflect, then there should have never been a ticket issued in the first place. Sure, we all can understand a resident complaining, but a ticket for $100.00? Get real

I have to disagree with you on this one. If there is some stood law in arnd such as this that most places don't have it should have been posted. What would it have hurt? The police chief in Arnold was quoted in the paper I believe of saying he only had six officers a day on. Do they not have better crimes to catch? I'd have to believe this was a law created as a cash cow. Another bs story coming out of Arnold. I wonder who's bright idea this one was. Why don't they just put a camera up on that street and start snapping. The could just mail out the tickets rather then using a police officer for such $hit.

This is rich, you hit it right on the head, a cash cow, and we all know it was Phil Amatos doing, just like other stupid things he has done to this city

I guess you "tools" didnt learn of a thing called common courtesy. Do not block someones mail box or driveway or any fire hydrants. Better yet if YOU are not the guest of a resident in that particular subdivision DO NOT PARK THERE. If you are parking there becuase you recieved a citation of some kind shame on you for inconvienceing the people at thier home. If you their for a meeting well i guess try and get their early and park at city hall.

Well, it seems that the police officers were directing cars to park in that very same subdivision on the night of the red-light camera forum. What is different on a Tuesday night?

Damn Dude, slow down and check yourself "tools"?? "get their early"??? What happen?, where you put out cause you could not get in your driveway? Tell you waht, better yet, go take your complaint to City Hall and ask them to have more than one court night and per chance there would be no one needing to park in the subdivision

If the City issues hat many tickets then it is their responsibility to make sure all o those people have a legal place to park. So, don't issue more tickets than what there are parking spaces in City Hall if you don't want them Parkin in the subdivision.
