According to the Leader and reported quotes from Mayor Counts, the council, which I happen to be a part of,is expected to vote on a settlement agreement with Ms. Boone at tonight's meeting. He stated the vote was postponed twice and this settlement offer is only good til the end of February. He also states if we don't agree to it, she could win more money in a trial, but he fails to mention the lawyer for our insurance company stated she doesn't have a case and she could walk away with nothing.Blackmail?I don't know, but it seems someone is trying to rush the council into settling something that hasn't even been proven! This would set a precedent for any Arnold employee to make claims against the city for bonus checks for what most would consider merely making sure one does their job properly and asking questions regarding their adherence to policies and procedures. After Ms. Boone, next in line.....
Mr. Moss is accused of having unfavorable things to say regarding Ms. Boone's performance. She has suffered no loss of job, no demotions no adverse actions.Even the extremely shoddy investigation done proves Mr. Moss,at no time, made any discriminatory statements directly to or about Ms. Boone.
Why such a rush to settlement when there is another case...a true sexual harassment & retaliation case, the Missouri Commission on Human rights DID issue a Notice of Right to Sue against the City of Arnold, Chief Shockey and Owen Conarow, which has been going on since October of 2011? There has been no rush to settle
that case and the city council, as far as those members I communicate with, were unaware it was a sexual harassment case. We were told it was a dispute over whether she quit or was fired. The case filing along with a lot of other things have not been shared with all of the council, just certain members and some who are not on the council.
You can read the whole case right here:

Why would a Mayor and City Council vote to place the Chief of Police, who is named in a sexual harassment lawsuit as City Administrator over even more employees?
Why was that investigation not released to the media? Why did the council not receive a copy of Officer Ott's complaints? That really doesn't make sense! Then for that very
same Police Chief to file harassment charges against two council representatives for harassment is pretty galling! He lobbied council members for the interim position
and now it has landed him in a pot of boiling water.

What this boils down to is, I ask the hard questions and I expect answers. I investigate on my own, before I ask the questions and when I receive answers
that don't jive with what I have found, I investigate more! I follow the money.....and it all leads to Bob Sweeney, our City Attorney.

Did you hear anything from the Mayor, the City Administrator(at that time*) or the City Attorney regarding the Ott case? Did they throw around all kinds of accusations or statements in
favor of employee Ott like they have Ms. Boone? Did they drag the accused Police Chief Shockey through the mud like they have Ken Moss and myself? Did they try to force Chief
Shockey to resign for certain charges of sexual harassment as they did with to Ken Moss who ambiguously made at most only random non-discriminatory remarks? The answer is an
unequivocal no! If you are tired of the circus, stand with me......

Please come to tonight's meeting of the City Council at 7pm at City Hall 2101 Jeffco Blvd.

Thank you,
Doris

P.S. The City Administrator at that time was Matt Unrein, if you recall upon his resignation he was given a parting gift of $70,000. According to our City Attorney, he also
signed off on the million dollar shortfall on the CVS project and signed a non-disparagement agreement which was waved during Ms. Boone's sham of an investigation.
Months previous to that $75,000 in grant money had to be returned because it was not utilized properly in time, when it was in the City's possession for more than five
years. Seriously, do they really think I am the problem, or could it be that no one has taken the time and trouble to look into these matters? Just because something
has been being done wrong for twenty years is no reason to continue

P.P.S. Also know, that this along with any other email, letter to the editor or statement will most likely be investigated by our illustrious city attorney, Bob Sweeney and
will show up in his billing as investigation of an allegation or threat. Then a lengthy nonsensical memo will follow they he will charge four or five hours for composing.
This letter took at most, 15 minutes.

So you admittedly knew of the Ott case and yet you did NO research beyond what they told you until now when it benefitted you.

You make no mention of who you accuse to be the Gold Buyer's friends to be at City Hall and why you haven't investigated the other gold buyer or other business licenses in the city. Could you please answer these questions if you are as transparent as you claim to be?

According to them it was public the date it was filed. That was October 2011. Now that your false excuse has been debunked. Please try again.

LUNN/CC, take a long walk off of a short pier, fall through the ice and let it freeze over before you can resurface! Pleeeease
giggly,
The only true generator of attorney fees is Bob Sweeney, he advises employees and businesses to sue the city, then he collects big bucks defending the cases, milks it for as long as he can and then settles out of court with a non disparagement agreement so no one finds out what he did. Pretty slick operation. Part time job, full time fees. Only single attorney I know who can personally bill 195 hours a month to one client. He must drink three five hour energy drinks a day to get by. How does he manage all of those other clients? Just sayin'

The shoddy investigation even proves it is false.
I say boondoggle gets nothing and should have to pay for the (less than) investigation.

I think shockey should go F his self like he told moss' lawyer to do .

How about that Ken Moss? Now, he has cost the City (us tax payers)$75,000. His arrogance never seems to fail the City of Arnold.

Way to go, Ken.

He didn't cost the city anything. The Mayor cast the deciding vote to just give Boone the money, not Ken. Too bad the clowns won tonight.

What exactly are you talking about his arrogance? This sound like Moritz now, and I would not doubt if you are him. Boone deserved nothing. She has no case and the City Attorney and Mayor are a joke. Boone is so rude to everyone around this town (that she does not even live in) and she was just making false claims so she could collect a paycheck.
Karma is a you know what!!

Who voted for and who voted against? An even vote means someone didn't show at the meeting.

Per the article in the Patch:

The council voted 3-to-3 on the agreement. Mayor Ron Counts broke the tie by voting in favor of the motion. Councilmembers Doris Borgelt, Ward 1, Michelle Hohmeier, Ward 2, and Sandra Kownacki, Ward 4, voted against the settlement. Councilmembers Bill Moritz, Ward 2, and Phil Amato and Paul Freese, both of Ward 3, voted in favor of it.
