They were labelled "bath salts". In reality, it was synthetic cocaine.

You have to wonder how the location was chosen off of Old 21. The woman at the top of all this lived in St. Peters. There had to been a lot of people who were familiar with the Otto/Barnhart area in order to run this particular operation. Probably a lot of druggies in the immediate area. She of course had other places that were busted in St. Louis, St. Charles and Lincoln county.

Cocaine is synthetic - a derivative of the coca plant indigenous to much of South America. In countries such as Peru and Columbia, locals have chewed the leaves during long hours of manual labor for the stimulating affects. This is legal in these countries and the affects are mild, similar to drinking coffee. The problems occur when the active alkaloids are chemically isolated to produce "cocaine".

Point being? Cocaine is synthetic. Period.
