Fox Fundraisers

Okay, I have now reworded this post at least 5 times in 30 minutes trying to be gentle, but I give up so I am going to tell it like it is.

Are there any other parents out there tired of Fox's method of fundraising. I have some major problems with their fundraising methods.

1. They get the kids all excited and promise them parties and such. However, some parents are on a limited income and cannot afford to do the fundraisers (at least not all of them) and then we have to disappoint the child by telling them that they won't be able to participate making the parent the bad guy. The school may not realize it but they are turning the child against the parent which should never be done by any school anywhere.

2. Why are we doing so many fundraisers to buy classroom equipment. Last time I checked I pay a good portion of taxes to the district and my understanding is that this would pay for building maintenance, salaries, books and CLASSROOM EQUIPMENT. When I was in school fundraisers were reserved for new uniforms, class trips, etc.

3. The items/prices in these fundraisers are ridiculous.

4. They now tell the children to only sell to family, have your parents take the fundraiser to work and no longer to go door to door. I understand the reasoning behind this but realize that some parents' workplaces do not allow this and some families are very small and do not have many members in town and I am not paying to ship items to them.

I think of all of the items listed that the first one tees me off the most. The school should not involve the children and should send the fundraiser home to the parents. I understand that they are trying to bolster participation, but it is only hurting the kids in the long run with the games (and yes, I said games) that they are playing.

Any other parents out there having problems with all of these fundraisers.

I see someone has already come through and marked your comment as NUTS. Not understanding why.

I also have difficult participating in all the fundraisers. I make my son pick one. I can see it hurts his feelings that he can not get all the little rewards offered, but what can I do.

A certain person and their buds go through and do that to everything I post. They don't care about content, just that I posted it. Since I showed them that Counts personal property was not an issue because one, it was paid and two, his business is incorporated making it a non issue they have had a problem with me and fees it necessary to try to discredit me when I could care less because it is only making them look bad. They really do need to get a life.

Back to the topic at hand. I've told my son to pick one and he always picks Jump Rope for Heart. That's the only one we participate in anymore because I can't afford any others. With all of the fundraisers they have lost their impact. All the family and neighbors are tired of it and so is work. There are just too many and to entice the kids with promises that can't be kept if the parents choose not to participate is just plain wrong. I think an audit needs to be done on the books to find out where our money is going that requires all of these fundraisers.

The fundraising now is not handles any different then when I was a kid. It's the same stupid junk toys as always. I do not let my kids sell. I make a 50 donation to the school and i done with it. I'd spend that in buying stuff through the year anyway.

And that is better because then the school gets all the money, not the 50 cents per item.

Fox must have these fundraisers to fuel their vast intercontinental nepotism machine.

I'm sure that Fox is the only district that fundraises. This has got to stop.

They all do it. My kids went to Rockwood schools and had to sell that crap too. Bugged the crap out me too. Especially the parents that made it a point to buy $500.00 of the junk so their kid got the big prize. Wrong way to fund raise because it does single out the kids with less than wealthy families

Fundraisers are hidden Zionist agendas that promote Fox nepotism!

Fire the superintendent! Vote out the Board of Education! Demote the custodians!

Thanks for your opinions everybody. I was considering going to a school board meeting and saying something (when I get time to do so...the whole busy schedule no time to myself thing). I was going to question why they needed so many fundraisers and where all my tax money is going that they require all of them. If anybody would like to ask the questions please let me know and we can arrange a time when we show up as a group. I was also going to bring up how I feel it is wrong how they excite the kids and promise them and then when they can't participate it hurts the child.

Kids need a lesson that they can't have everything in life. To me, if I heard you come and complain about how the poor kids get their feelings hurt because you won't let them sell, I'd laugh. Tell your kid no and move on.
