Go to Open House and ask---That's what we did. Real simple! Get involved in the school w/ your kids and engage them with you while you ask the questions. Imagine you're teaching them assertiveness by example and how to get answers to simple questions. WOW! Ker-Plunk.........."I could have had a V-8"!

<quoted text>Whoa! If I've ever heard a truer statement of how the administration feels about our kids I can't remember it.

This poster sounds an awful lot like my favorite vile voice of the administration, a/k/a the Troopster. Is it you Troop? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee.(Sorry, couldn't resist the Anchorman reference).

Even though many people raise thoughtful, well-reasoned arguments why the BOE, Dianne and Todd should be kicked to the curb for their incompetence and greed we can always use more help. It's fools like Troop and Hmmmm saying things like "it's a freaking kid, not a rare endangered species" that get the general public off their hands and into school board meetings and voting booths.

Troop/Hmmm, I want your pledge - and I'm willing to pay for it with as many Big Macs as it takes - that you'll not let a mere woman,(just for fun let's call her "The Superintendent") tell you what you can and can't post. Be a Man! Be a Man's Man! Tell us who you and yours support in the upcoming school board election.
I don't care who hmmm supports, I'm supporting Sam Ferry. Sam will lead us into a prosperous rein atop the school district rankings. If everyone would just listen to Sam Ferry then everything will get better. I don't understand why it is do hard for people to understand. As a mother of two grown adults that turned to drugs, I know how bad it can get. My kids went to school when Mr Rickman was super. Nepotism was rampant and it was horrible. I can't understand why we have allowed it to happen over and over.

Rough day Todd? I'm sure you're tired. Let's review the lessons Kelly learned today: With enough long hours (unfortunately those would be yours), hard work (yours again), and the right last name, she's untouchable.

Damn it must be good to be her.

Sleep well Todd. Tomorrow you get to do it all over again.

I've stayed away from here until now. But after what took place today I am furious as a parent of a child in the Fox C-6 School District and want all of the other parents out there to call and complain, too, as they should be furious. I also encourage the other parents to show up at the school board meeting to testify as that is the only way this problem will be resolved.

It is the first day of school and the school menus are STILL not on the website. I find it hilarious that before Ms. Nash's daughter-in-law was hired that this wasn't a problem to my recollection. I called and the answer I got was pitiful. I was told "Yeah, she hasn't gotten them up there yet.". Pitiful...very pitiful. I bet you those with the qualifications for the job would have had them up there BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. How am I supposed to plan my child's lunches? I guess she doesn't want our kids eating the school food.

I would like the school board to find a way out of that contract since as a taxpayer because she has FAILED the parents of the ENTIRE DISTRICT. I am not getting what I am paying for with my tax money. Please hire someone with the qualifications for the job, not someone that promises they will be qualified in two years. Hire someone with experience in the job they applied for. People weren't happy about that hire before and this doesn't help public opinion.

Thank you for listening to my rant and I hope that this stirs the public into demanding action be taken IMMEDIATELY.
My wife just checked the website and saw the menus for both the Elementary and Secondary schools. When she clicked on them it said modified July 10. Seems that they may have really been there. I have no need to check the site so I guess I can't say that it was there prior to today for a fact, but of it was modified in July it seems it may have been. The modified date is not manually manipulated. It is generated by the computer.

Have your wife click on the Elementary Schools menu link. A link to the August elementary school menu will appear. The date that was modified was today, August 14 at 5:41.

Cathy, I get what you are saying, but when you seat kids away from others, then you are making them "special" and trust me, the bullying will ensue. You create outcasts when you do that. I can name a couple that were in my class and I know, because I saw them as "different".

Okay, update everybody. I got a call from Nash. She started by saying it wasn't her fault. She started by saying her computer crashed and they dropped it. I asked her when they dropped it and after hem hawing around she said about a week and a half ago. She said IT was still working on it (we'll get to the IT thing later because she barked up the wrong tree with this excuse and I'll tell you why to help us determine where the failure is). She then tried to throw out the "upgrade the host". Well, I told her that they did that three weeks ago at least because I was on the website then and noticed that it was upgraded. I told her that was a bad excuse. I also let her know that those menus should have been up long before a week and half ago. I told her that the computer drop was an excuse, too.

Here is my perspective.

1. If the computer is dropped and the person needs to get something done right away, then you give them a new computer (or used one that works), add the software on it and voila, they are productive again.
2. The files should have been stored on a network drive (and if there is no network drive, then this is IT's fault). Network drives should be backed up on a daily basis.
3. The host excuse was pitiful because it was updated a while ago.
4. Those menus should have been updated a while ago. If you don't have the menus, then how do you know what food to order?(Going back to no computer, computer being dropped). Are you using that computer to manage the orders, too? If so then you lost a lot more and how are you ordering today?

I think with these questions we can determine if the failure was in the food department or IT department. I would look forward to their IT department getting on here and answering these.

At the end of the conversation she did take responsibility for the menues not being available. She said that they should have been in the packets the kids were given at open house.
They are having problems computers. Secondary schools did not have a program called ALS available to them today. It wasn't ready. They're having problems with servers and wireless connections. You are getting what you pay for. We pay some of the lowest taxes anywhere. But yet, Fox High School was ranked 26th in the state of MO out of all high schools in the state. Looks like just maybe you're getting more than what you pay for.

Thank you she did and you are correct. but I do know the District is having computer issues. I don't blame IT because there isn't enough of them to do all that they have to do.

What a joke! The print on the menu is so small it's a wonder anybody can read it.

Get it together Ms. Nash. You can do better than that.

I'm surprised that there has been no mention of the fact that they also changed the online lunch payment system. As a busy working Mom, I used mylunchmoney to make sure that money was there when it needed to be. I don't like to send cash and don't even order checks anymore because .. well it's 2013. Fox District is no longer using mylunchmoney and there's been no information sent home for that or for the parent portal. Freshman Welcome Day was Monday and first day was yesterday. So far, all I've gotten was an Emergency contact sheet.

Bottom line, all this rant goes back to the very poor decision to hire Ms. Nash. How can an education institution not promote the need of higher education? Basically this proves that Fox SD does not want the students it serves to go beyond a high school education. Parents should be mortified by this action on hiring an inadequate Ms. Nash. But instead, go back to watching 'America's got talent' or Duck Dynasty. I am moving to Lindbergh. Thank you Fox SD for lumping us in the public eye most of this year with bad news like Normandy and Riverview Gardens. Wake up parents and go to the Board meeting on the 27th and set things right for your children.... If you plan on staying.

The passion has been stirring for years. People are tired of the School Board and Superintendent taking undue advantage of the taxpayers and padding their rolls with highly paid personal friends and relatives. The hire of Kelly Nash, the at that time board president's daughter in law, was the straw that broke the camel's back. There are many issues that need to be addressed that can be remedied if we elect a school board that works for the taxpayers instead of the superintendent. They are all supposed to work for us.

Rant is right. Plan your kid's lunches? Are you that hovering that you can't just send the kid to school and expect that he, she or it will get something edible there? This is just stupid. It's food. Eat it. Eat around what you don't like, or take your lunch. You're not going to starve.
Nope, "Mommy" has to bitch, whine, piss and moan about how bloody AWFUL it is that she's been inconvenienced. I HATE HELICOPTERING! Dammit, instead of kicking up dust like a three year old brat, just send your spawn to school and teach 'em to eat what they're given. I'd smack your head if you were within reach. Seriously. So, I just looked up the school menu online, and can't believe what I saw!! Are we running a concession stand, or a school cafeteria?

Or, maybe, for an extra $1, our kids could get a smurf toy with their lunch. This is ridiculous!!

Let's put this into perspective: For the month of August our children (or "freakin kids" as some "rare endangered species" had the AUDACITY to put it above) have the following options:

Chicken Nuggets x3
Pepperoni Pizza x8
Cheeseburger x5
Hot Dogs x2
Mini Tacos x2
Pizza Dippers x1
Taco Grande x1
Chicken Patty x2
Toasted Ravioli x1
Corn Dogs x1

Seriously????? That's what we get for $65,000/yr?
First of all, am I the only parent that would like to know what else my child is offered with each day? I also want to know what veggies, fruit, or snack is offered on a daily basis!! How hard is it to provide a full menu, or is this grease all they get? Perhaps in a couple of years, when we have someone qualified/certified in our district, maybe our "children" will receive meals that are planned from someone who can think outside the well experienced McDonalds box. Just take a look at some options that other public school districts are providing in and outside:

Spaghetti and meatballs, greens beans, roll
Salisbury steak and mashed potatoes Roast with corn and orange slices
Lasagna
Toasted Ham and Cheese Sandwich
Fish Sandwich
Burrito
Meatball Sub
Wraps
Ham and cheese on a pretzel bun
Homestyle Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes
Penne Pasta with choice of white or red sauce
Flat Bread cheese melt
Sloppy Joes, Tator Tots
BBQ Ham Sandwich, Baked Beans
Nike Sandwich (whatever this is)
Hamburger Helper
Mostaccioli, bread stick, salad, fruit
Chili and pb sandwich
Chicken Quesadilla
Mac and Cheese with ham
Whole grain bread and buns

Sweet potato Tidbits
Fish Sticks and peas
Chicken Parmesan
Chicken Alfredo
Southwest Chicken Flatbread
Beefy nachos with corn, pinto beans, salsa
Fish Sandwich
Chicken Crispito
Deli wrap
Oven Roasted chicken
Hay Stacks (Whatever this is)
Macho Nachos (Not sure what that consist of-Windsor)
Very Berry Yogurt Parfait
Chicken Teriyaki Dippers
Chicken and brown rice
Grilled cheese, peas, butter noodles
Chicken strips, Au Gratin Potatoes
Spaghetti, salad, breadstick
Mexican Lasagna, corn, salad
BBQ Rib sandwich
Three Bean Salad
Fish Sticks, spaghetti with marina sauce
Pasta salad
Sweet Potato fries
Chicken Taco, lettuce, cheese, corn, salsa, sour cream

And here's just a few more ideas
Chicken with gravy on a bun
Dressing, stuffing, cranberry sauce, turkey roll with gravy
Chicken Pot Pie bake/Casserole
Chicken and Dumplings
Chicken and dumpling bake with biscuits
Loaded Potato soup

That took me all of 30 minutes to research other ideas. So why are we feeding our children such crap at school. If your defense is "that's what kids eat" well, of course, if they are only exposed to crap food. Our kids deserve better!!!

For all of you out there, I plan to be at the next school board meeting barring anything unforeseen happening.

I am encouraging all parents in the district to come. This is not teaching our kids good eating habits. After being in the cafeteria and looking at that food, all I have to say is it looks disgusting. I wouldn't even feed it to my dog. We need someone that will turn things around. There might be an increased expense and when I talked to Todd Scott he did make sure to tell me that she has saved the district money. With that being said, I don't think that cheaping out on the food that feeds our kids is a good move by the district. Did we really need that new football field? Did we really need all of these new computer systems that over half of the parents never log onto? No. Not at the expense of not feeding our kids good, decent food.

Let's pressure the district to get someone in there that is QUALIFIED and will do the job. Someone that will take accountability and make no excuses. Someone that has the proper EXPERIENCE. Someone that will feed our kids like the poster above has listed. Our school may have good test scores, but they feed the kids GARBAGE. Talk about disrespectful. Maybe that chef needs to come in and help us turn things around.
