I've stayed away from here until now. But after what took place today I am furious as a parent of a child in the Fox C-6 School District and want all of the other parents out there to call and complain, too, as they should be furious. I also encourage the other parents to show up at the school board meeting to testify as that is the only way this problem will be resolved.

It is the first day of school and the school menus are STILL not on the website. I find it hilarious that before Ms. Nash's daughter-in-law was hired that this wasn't a problem to my recollection. I called and the answer I got was pitiful. I was told "Yeah, she hasn't gotten them up there yet.". Pitiful...very pitiful. I bet you those with the qualifications for the job would have had them up there BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL. How am I supposed to plan my child's lunches? I guess she doesn't want our kids eating the school food.

I would like the school board to find a way out of that contract since as a taxpayer because she has FAILED the parents of the ENTIRE DISTRICT. I am not getting what I am paying for with my tax money. Please hire someone with the qualifications for the job, not someone that promises they will be qualified in two years. Hire someone with experience in the job they applied for. People weren't happy about that hire before and this doesn't help public opinion.

Thank you for listening to my rant and I hope that this stirs the public into demanding action be taken IMMEDIATELY.

Still obsessed and thinking everyone is me, huh?

I normally let my kids brings their lunch because they said the school food is disgusting. Just goes to show that nepotism doesn't pay.

What can we do to get a qualified person in that position?

Ah, you must be a friend of the Nash family. Well, that apparently isn't the point. The point is she didn't do her job that we as taxpayers pay her to do.

Rant is right. Plan your kid's lunches? Are you that hovering that you can't just send the kid to school and expect that he, she or it will get something edible there? This is just stupid. It's food. Eat it. Eat around what you don't like, or take your lunch. You're not going to starve.

Nope, "Mommy" has to bitch, whine, piss and moan about how bloody AWFUL it is that she's been inconvenienced. I HATE HELICOPTERING! Dammit, instead of kicking up dust like a three year old brat, just send your spawn to school and teach 'em to eat what they're given. I'd smack your head if you were within reach. Seriously. It's a freaking kid, not a rare, endangered species.

I noticed no menu was posted also. I also thought it was no big deal because it is the first week of school. I packed my kids lunches as well. I'm more concerned that Michelle Obama has her nose in what my kids eat for lunch and how much food is wasted as a result of her nonsense.

I'm kind of old fashioned though and feel as if it is my job to feed my kids not the schools responsibility. It's like dining out, if they like it we buy if not we don't.

You are a complte moron! On top of it you have the nerve to threaten a woman with physical violence? What a tough guy you must be!

Some parents like to KNOW that thier children will actually eat thier lunch. The lunch that they PAY for! Children, like adults, have likes and dislikes, and if it is something the child will not eat whay in God's name would I pay for that? Besides it is a completely valid point, the menus should have been ready and up for all to view!

This is the first few days of school. The kiddos can pack a lunch from home because of the uncertainty of "what's for lunch". I have yet to see a kid die or starve over not liking what is for lunch. Even my own and trust me I've got a picky one. Heck, she doesn't even like what I cook sometimes but she eats it or does without. She is still alive and doing well. If you don't like what is for lunch or you don't know don't pay. It's that simple.

There is a new website so maybe, just maybe the menu has something to do with that and maybe its not the new chic in towns fault at all. I'm not a big fan of the way hiring was done at fox but people are so quick to want her to fail at all measures. Is it her fault she got a better job on the back of her mother in law? She was one of many.

I'm not one to jump on that allergy wagon either. If your kiddo is that allergic to nut, dyes, milk, or whatever else, let them all sit at a different table. Why should everyone be banned from eating it because a few will be offended to sit at a different table because they'll look different. You look different because you are. It doesn't mean your a bad person just different. Again, if my kid is so allergic, it's not the schools job to provide my kid safe foods. Ill Pack my own. That way i know what they are eating and i don't have to worry. That's what I would do.

A little off topic I know but all based on school lunch.

I think the bigger issue is was it the lack of a ability of the unqualified person they hired. That would be the main issue here. If she can't do something as simple as put a menu up then what major things can't she do, too. What if her incapability results in unfed kids at lunch? That is a concern.

Whoa! If I've ever heard a truer statement of how the administration feels about our kids I can't remember it.

This poster sounds an awful lot like my favorite vile voice of the administration, a/k/a the Troopster. Is it you Troop? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee.(Sorry, couldn't resist the Anchorman reference).

Even though many people raise thoughtful, well-reasoned arguments why the BOE, Dianne and Todd should be kicked to the curb for their incompetence and greed we can always use more help. It's fools like Troop and Hmmmm saying things like "it's a freaking kid, not a rare endangered species" that get the general public off their hands and into school board meetings and voting booths.

Troop/Hmmm, I want your pledge - and I'm willing to pay for it with as many Big Macs as it takes - that you'll not let a mere woman,(just for fun let's call her "The Superintendent") tell you what you can and can't post. Be a Man! Be a Man's Man! Tell us who you and yours support in the upcoming school board election.

Cathy, I get what you are saying, but when you seat kids away from others, then you are making them "special" and trust me, the bullying will ensue. You create outcasts when you do that. I can name a couple that were in my class and I know, because I saw them as "different".

Okay, update everybody. I got a call from Nash. She started by saying it wasn't her fault. She started by saying her computer crashed and they dropped it. I asked her when they dropped it and after hem hawing around she said about a week and a half ago. She said IT was still working on it (we'll get to the IT thing later because she barked up the wrong tree with this excuse and I'll tell you why to help us determine where the failure is). She then tried to throw out the "upgrade the host". Well, I told her that they did that three weeks ago at least because I was on the website then and noticed that it was upgraded. I told her that was a bad excuse. I also let her know that those menus should have been up long before a week and half ago. I told her that the computer drop was an excuse, too.

Here is my perspective.

1. If the computer is dropped and the person needs to get something done right away, then you give them a new computer (or used one that works), add the software on it and voila, they are productive again.
2. The files should have been stored on a network drive (and if there is no network drive, then this is IT's fault). Network drives should be backed up on a daily basis.
3. The host excuse was pitiful because it was updated a while ago.
4. Those menus should have been updated a while ago. If you don't have the menus, then how do you know what food to order?(Going back to no computer, computer being dropped). Are you using that computer to manage the orders, too? If so then you lost a lot more and how are you ordering today?

I think with these questions we can determine if the failure was in the food department or IT department. I would look forward to their IT department getting on here and answering these.

At the end of the conversation she did take responsibility for the menues not being available. She said that they should have been in the packets the kids were given at open house.

I also want to make it clear that I want to find the problem. Before when I said we needed out of her contract, I thought it was lack of job on her part. Now that she has brought IT into the mix, I think we need an investigation to find where the problem is and make sure that it is fixed and that it doesn't happen with other more critical departments (like transportation).

Thoughts everybody on this matter?

Actually, it is indeed the school's job to provide all children with safe foods. And, it's the law.

I'm glad you know how you would manage your children if they were to have food allergies. Many parents choose to send a lunch with their kid because that's their choice. But parents' preferences don't change the mandate that schools are required to provide safe foods to all children.

Cathy why you chose to address me I don't understand. Is there anything in my post that even indicated that this was Kelly's fault? I simply said it was a valid point, and it was. But you did ask the question so here goes. Yes I believe that IN PART it was her fault she got the job on the back of her mother in law! She knew she did not have the qualifications or the ability to do the job, she knew her only reason for being there was because her mother in law was on the board otherwise she would of never applied!

Nobody wants her to fail. As many of us have stated it is impossible for her to fail as she will be covered on every level.

Although I have never dealt with it I am quite certain that a life threatning allergy in a child is a bit more that a "wagon" to jump onfor the parents.

We are probably more on the same page than you might think. You assumed I blamed Kelly Nash. Everyone knows they are having trouble with the new website.

After the other phone call I got this afternoon I would really agree with Sam's statement of:

"Nobody wants her to fail. As many of us have stated it is impossible for her to fail as she will be covered on every level."

I got a call from a higher up and the sole purpose felt like it was intended to defend her. When I asked how they got my name and number it was stated that it was given to the person by Kelly. That irritates me. Then I got a different story from the person. They assured me that the menu problem would be fixed this afternoon. After the IT problems she kept stating and that her computer was dropped that sounds a little far fetched, but that is just me I guess.

Sam, do you attend school board meetings? If so, when is the next one? The more I think about the events of the day the more this irks me and wreaks of covering up because the person I talked to this afternon refused to admit that there is a nepotism problem and said the media didn't report the facts of the Nash situation. According to this person the other two candidates had no real experience either.

Dont' let this person get to you, Sam. I'm pretty sure that after today I know who they are after my second phone conversation. And if they have to threaten violence then that shows they don't have a case. We need parents at the next school board meeting to get this on the record that this happened. That's all that matters now.
