Thinkng just more typical hoosier non-sense. That place needs to be mowed down and cleared out. Disgusting roach infested rat hole. And the owner loks like a acid head freak from the 70's who never grew up. HOOSIERS.

If Arnold can do something about the Value Hotel why can't they do something about the owner of the Bayshore apartments? Look how long they let that place go on. I moved here in 1978 and was told that the Bayshore apartments was a drug place. Is there money being paid under the table. I worry about the kids in the subdivision across the street.

They used to call Crosswinds "Bayshore North" as I recall. Just a few bad apples allowed to rot can really wreck a joint. Just have to make a few of those apples into examples.

lol I read all of these to my husband and I have to agree with you Jim! I have to tell you my grandson just moved out of the subdivision across the street from the apts. He hated taking the school bus because the kids would be smoking. So his mom started taking him to school. He is 13 and in the middle school. That's why I worry about those kids in the subdivision. Sad but he even said some would be smoking pot. I am so glad we have him busy with school activities :(

they should pull every car going k Illinois into or out of Bayshore and if they have drugs arrest them. Sooner or later they will go over to Washington Park Illinois where they can be with other crackheads.

Then the cops would be no better than the criminals. Sure, if someone gets pulled over and has illegal drugs, arrest them but that doesn't make it okay to just pull everyone over and start searching. If you want cops like that you should move to Cuba.

I love it. Everyone that bought a home in the lower arnold ghetto (Bay Shore), Is now scared and wants the city to use all its resources to clean the place up? How about you morons start researching an area befor you buy a home there. Start a PRODUCTIVE neighborhood watch and start calling the cops everytime you see something out of place. pot heads will leave if the area is full of squealers. And stop demanding my tax dollars help you out because your dumb a$$ bought a home in the ghetto. Dont get wrong, if it was a bad situation i would feel sorry for you, but a 10 second drive through bayshore and i know im not moving in.

Arnold guy... whoa! We can all tell your so well educated! Crime is up everywhere! NOT just Bayshore. Point is, it used to be that you could go outside/for a walk and you could guarantee you were going to see an Arnold Police Officer crusing Bayshore. Now, I can't tell you the last time it was that I have actually seen an Arnold Cop drive by. We asked for help from the Police b/c of reports of men breaking into homes when people were still home! Instead of getting help for that, we were under attack! 50 violations the subdivision got.. 50! We did NOT ask the Cops to come and hand out tickets to everyone that looked the wrong way in the subdivision... we asked for help in fighting crime! Last time I checked, the neighbor 5 houses down having expired licenese plates by 5 days is not a crime. What did that prove or help Arnold Police Officers? They acted like they came to our rescue.. "The home owners asked for help and we listened, we wrote 50 citations" wow! What a relief !! I feel SO safe now! Heres what happpened, the Arnold Police were asked if they could step up their patrols in Bayshore.. Well, this would mean that an Arnold Officer would actually have to do work and not be able to sit side by side and talk to eachother along Jeffco in various lots, as you see them EVERYDAY! So, Shockey ,(By the way, how is he a captain when there is NO way he is physically fit to god for bid chase a robber downn??) Anyways,Shockey was appauled that Bayshore Home Owners, the scums of the town according to most, would ask for such a thing.. I mean, Shockey and his crew are the best, they are always doing their job...right?? So Shcokey declared a war... He even offered Over time for thses officers, JUST to make sure he had enough man power to write as many tickets as possible.. Give me a break,Shockey.. What kind of "HELP" was that? I am happy with where I live.. People make fun of the homes and the neighborhood, but those homes in that subdivision are a lot better made then ALL of these newer subdivisions in Arnold. Bayshore is not some "Ghetto" horrible subdivision. It's a nice place to live and me and my fellow home owners in Bayshore want what our tax dollars help pay for. I want to see MORE patrols of the Arnold Officers.. It is NOT too much to ask!

I agree what you have said. Sad to say I often wonder where the police are. You don't see them that often. A little bird once told me that if they lived in the area you could find the officers at their homes when they were suppose to be on duty!

What actually happened was there were a lot of people staying there illegally and bayshore was the ones allowing it. So, they did a big raid and cleaned house. I agree that Arnold PD is a joke. I seen one of them shopping in walmart the other day while he was working. One of the SUV's they have was parked right outside by the sidewalk. So yeah, Arnold PD is a joke. I recently got a ticket and to my suprise i did not have an issue with the Arnold cop at all! he was actually nice! He's probably the only nice one there. But yeah, cops will always be rediculous. Especially Arnold and St. Louis.

It always amazed me when I was in police work that heaven forbid should you ever go to lunch, the gas station, talk with a partner, run through a store and grab a few items, or ever have any type of down time during your 12 hour shift, but your every day worker such as most of you on this forum probably spend the majority of your work day on the internet, facebook, talking to a co-worker, going to the bathroom, taking to long for lunch etc.... but thats ok. You know police officers cant do solve everybodys issues, they can only try to help deter alot of them. The reason why you never see police in your neighborhood is probably because you are sleeping during those hours. Dayshift work is always flooded with calls so they cant drive your area every 20 minutes. The funny thing is, when they do finally drive through and locate several violations, then they are a**holes. And just for the record, I have lived and worked in Jeff County and St. Louis Co, lived in arnold and let me tell you, to have a policeman show up within 5 minutes of making a call is pretty good.Jeffco average 45 minutes depending on priority. So be thankful for that. All im saying is maybe people should start being thankful for the services they have and that someone will actually do the job none of u would ever do and stop complaining all the time.

I was wondering if anyone had any updates on the Bayshore apartments since the big raid? I saw that there had been 24 arrests and 30 people were going to be evicted due to lack of occupancy permits (the owner had a 5 figure unpaid sewer bill). Is any of this having an impact?

if it's a mile or 2 away from your house that is in a perfect subdivision and is so immaculate, I have news for you it is probably 2 doors down from you too whether you know it or not. accept it or not it's up to you. truth is you have no idea.

What Arnold jerks and hypocrites there are calling Bayshore subdivisiom the ghetto. It is not the subdivision that is the problem, it is the Bayshore Apartments across the street next to Becks Minimart. Go there during the daytime and all you see is dead ass lazy men if you want to call them men hanging around doing nothing while their stupid woman with no self esteem is out working some low payimg job and still collecting welfare and food stamps since they do not report all their babys daddys names or that their current shackup is living in the home. The families in the subdivision are hard workers and most take good care of their yards and homes. There are some elderly who meed a little help that could come from their friends or neighbors , but for the most part the subdivision is decent. The apartment management needs to start screening their tenants better and do credit checks first in addition to checking them out on Missouri case net for prior charges and convictions...it is time for the owners to take responsibility towards being a better neighbor for us across the street in homes that we are paying for ourselves... No section 8 crap that is creating the hellhole that it has become. And by the way drugs are eveywhere, not just down here, look at your white collar crime too across all of Arnold. Just remember when raising a family....if you cant feed them then dont brred them ...and expect my tax dollars to take care of you all no matter what scale home you are living in...remember proverty does not always live in slums. There are whire collar workers on welfare now and standing in line at the Arnold Food Pantry theae days too.

I have friends who work for Jeff Co, but no joke my friend saw a cop texting and driving (Arnold!) & he didn't stop the speeding person in front of her, but when he was done with his text, he pulled over her (he apparently didn't see the other) for going 2 miles over!!! Ridiculous.

BUT just a note of compassion....we all come from diffenent walks in life but wheez down here have a true swagger and know what it is like to work unlike some of the silver spoons of Arnold. So if you are just a transplant here...take up your roots and move on . By the way....I do own my own home here in Bayshore subdivision and like it here....can I afford more...you betcha....but we are not trash...we are still People of the Book...just like you. Go eat some crow and you just might ask for a second helping.
